Chinese learn from Danny Ocean Both China and Hong Kong have been trying to conquer the international market for decades, trying to compete with the American film industry. Honestly, they're not doing very well so far. I'm not saying that they don't have any acceptable films at all, but the number of good movies from these Asian countries would like more. In addition, China and Hong Kong are stepping into the same puddle from which our native Russian cinema can not get out: the groundwork for success was chosen just American standards of film production, which, of course, loses mentality and author’s handwriting. As an example of the fact that China and Hong Kong have adopted Hollywood trends can serve as a crime thriller with elements of drama and action ' Adventurers'.
For a long time, the French inspector Pierre Bisset (many beloved Jean Reno) unsuccessfully hunted for an international thief Zhang (star of Chinese stage and cinema Andy Lau). And once Bisset manages to put Zhang behind bars, but sooner or later Zhang will be released and Bisset is not at all sure that he will leave his criminal path, so sit down with him on 'tail'. And soon Pierre Bisset is right: Zhang assembles a new team, preparing to pull off another criminal case. Zhang is a genius in his field, he follows the latest inventions, without embarrassment using them in his difficult & #39; Labor' And catching Zhang, who has become even more experienced and cunning, is quite difficult. So there's a big fight going on between the detective and the robber. Which of them will be the winner and how - for this it is worth watching the tape 'Adventurers'.
I must say that while you follow the development of the action in the film, involuntarily there are many associations associated with other films of the genre. Undoubtedly, one of the sources of inspiration for Asian filmmakers was a trilogy about Danny Ocean’s friends, but to the brilliance and creation ' Adventurers' very far in comparison with ' Soderbergh' trilogy. Not only that, but, let you not be surprised, but the feeling that from the technical side of the creation ' Adventurers' the ideal was ' Star Wars', so incredible were the means used by Zhang comrades, but involuntarily thinks about excessive fantasy ' Adventurists' And when the chases appeared on the screen, you immediately remember the films about Jason Bourne. On the one hand, this is all good, but, unfortunately, the ideas were pumped up by the execution: there is no drive and adrenaline, the entertainment is at the level, but we saw everything and stronger action, and the plot about the great robbery in general due to the inveterate use of special effects went to the background, which was not necessary to do, but it so happened that the entertainment and the script went different ways and complexity ' Adventurists' fell apart before our eyes.
Andy Lau, of course, is a big star in his homeland, but according to ' Adventurers' it is difficult to say this person would like to attract fans from other continents to his side. It seems that Lau copes well with the task, but there is no strong confidence that we are facing a thief of international scale. In general, it seemed that as the filming progressed, Lau became more and more tired and in the finale we got a completely exhausted antihero. Jean Reno keeps his bar, but something recently in major projects, where he plays a major role, not noticed. Rather, his status corresponds to ' guest star'. His Pierre Bisset in many ways resembled the characters of the same Renault from 'Crimson Rivers' and 'Da Vinci Code'. Not that Reno decided to play his own way, but something vital and interesting in Bisset minimum. But supporting actors such as Shu Qi, Tony Yang and Zhang Jingchu, somehow more lively looked, so it was interesting to watch them. And artistry, and tricks, and even humor were embodied in their game.
As a result, I cannot say directly that the joint Sino-Hong Kong project ' Adventurers' turned out to be a complete failure. The idea was, the actors were selected good, the plot is also, in general, not the worst, but there is one thing ', but': why so hard to copy the identical genre of cinema created in Hollywood? If Asians left the specificity of their cinema, then there would be more to talk about, but only a pale copy of Ocean's friends and a number of other famous films. It is possible to look once, but you should not expect anything special.
