After 2.5 hours of absorbing this masterpiece, there are too many thoughts in your head that need to be poured out. This movie is not a love drama at all. There's no shooting, there's no action. Just a story. Just a girl, her problems and her therapist. How accurately the experiences are shown. The depth of the plot is overwhelming. Spiritual and intellectual cinema, which is very motivating. I want to take apart quotes, paste around the house and re-read constantly. At the beginning, it seemed that the film is about a stupid frivolous girl, but then her emotional trauma is revealed faster and deeper. Once again, silently and standing up, I applaud the Indian cinema.
In this film, Shah Rukh appears in an atypical role: a mature, experienced and wise psychotherapist. This role, by the way, is very suitable for him. Many believe that the beginning of the film is sluggish, perhaps, but without it we would not be able to see, understand and penetrate into the life of the main character. So I don't see it as a problem. A young girl Kaira, lives in a metropolis and works as an operator. And it would seem that everything in her life is natural, but she does not think so herself. She is confused, looking for something, wants, waits... but she does not know what! I think the situation is familiar to many. In her life, there is a person who helps her find herself. She calls him a think tank, but given his unconventional methods, I would call him a pleasant conversationalist. Their sessions take place in an easy, relaxed atmosphere, which helps the heroine to reveal herself, her feelings, thoughts, fears and problems. The film looks on one breath, but at its ease it is very strong psychologically! It encourages you to think about your life, goals and ways to achieve these goals! Leaves a light, but not out of my head aftertaste.
Wonderful mature movie!Alia - a talented girl. Shah Rukh, in an adult characteristic role. Interesting story - thoughtful. The movie is memorable. When I first learned about this film 2 years ago, I thought at first that Dear Zindagi is a film about a guy named Zindagi, although I have long known that Zindagi is translated from Hindi as Life. So the name should be this "Dear Life" or "The Road of Life" (which is also appropriate).
The therapy sessions looked great, the doctor told different stories, and I felt like I was going to the appointment myself, so there was an effect. Indians like no one can touch the soul and make melodrama drama. The picture has many aphorisms, metaphors that can be useful to everyone in life. There is no heartwarming story in the film, the action is also a little bit, but from the psychological side - the film is powerful. Such an intellectual melodrama, where, on the example of heroes, you can speculate about your life.
This brings up the issue of childhood trauma, because all problems in life begin there. A man cannot admit his mistakes and suffers alone. The picture tells that you need to have a person with whom you can talk heart-to-heart to take the weight off your shoulders. Shah Rukh Khan stunningly performed the role. His character can be compared to Bruce Willis from the movie The Sixth Sense when he helped the boy. Shah fit perfectly into the film and each of his phrases gave aesthetic pleasure, and facial expressions and movements were even sometimes mixed. Alia Bhatt reminded me of the character from the TV series The Wild Angel. The same cheerful girl who talks all the time without stopping. The face moves perfectly, excellent facial expressions, the girl is absolutely crazy and unbalanced, with a heavy character, but at heart - she is just beautiful. You just need to know what the doctor is doing. Telling stories that at first seem strange, he brings her (and the viewer) to simple conclusions, to things that can begin to live in harmony with yourself. I have to admit that some of the tips helped me, too – that’s how the film allowed me to combine the pleasant with the useful (especially the advice with the choice of chairs). That's super! The film leaves hope. Hope, which is only reinforced by the finale - vital and realistic.
I really liked the movie. There is nothing abstruse about it, it is simple and accessible to everyone. Yes, there is a lack of dynamics, but it is quite consistent with its genre. There's a song in the movie that says the word "zindagi" a couple of times, and it's about you getting love by giving it. It must be about life. About life as it is.
The film is light, romantic. Melodrama. The action takes place in one of the paradise corners of the planet Earth-Goa. Nice to see. Probably because she is a pretty actress in a beautiful setting: palm trees, sun, beach and sea. It's beautiful and sweet. The authors do not burden the viewer with any deep mental problems. Nope. Questions about what the main character lives on temporarily without working and what he pays for most likely far from cheap sessions with an eminent psychoanalyst - let us leave out of brackets.
Therefore, for those who want to relax, to distract from the gray everyday life, I recommend this film. The film is intellectual and shows a modern Indian family. Shah Rukh as a psychotherapist irresistible, charming, wise. I even cried when they broke up... Pathetic heroine. But it's not a love drama. This is a drama, this is a story about how to understand yourself.
I saw Alijah Bhatt for the first time, but I liked her (not at first sight and not for her appearance), precisely for her ability to be alive and relaxed in the role, to convey feelings, emotions. History really clings to the soul, makes you understand, think about a lot. You want to review the film, especially when there are “troubled” times in your life and you suddenly realize that you are losing your orientation. All this is flavored with a beautiful picture, pleasant music, romances of the heroine with different men (in search of herself, love, answers...) and she, of course, at some point falls in love (though rather gets used to) with her therapist. Ethics does not allow them to be friends.
The film turned out adult, beautiful, semantic, strong! I suggest. I would say that this film is suitable for everyone, because it takes a lot of the style of American romantic comedies. There is no strong self-flagellation of heroes, there are sun shots, ease of storytelling and music of inspiration. And somehow it was so easy to take the film, because in the heart - we all know that India is not so rigid in terms of traditions, and here it is accepted that a girl can date someone before marriage (although this most likely began to happen only in the last 5-7 years). The heroine turned out to be such an ordinary girl, she is so simple in her problems that she is easy to understand. But Shah Rukh showed a real master class - such a very extraordinary, joke-loving therapist who really gives good advice.
The film is great, easy to perceive, leaves pleasant memories of himself. I highly recommend it even to those who don’t like Indian cinema. You will definitely enjoy this movie.
I couldn’t get ready to watch this movie for a long time, as I was confused by the title, and Zindagi was more associated with someone’s name than with life. And the name, you will agree, can both catch and repel the viewer.
I have seen this movie and have seen it more than once.
I will say right away, the film is very worthwhile, and I advise you to watch it a thousand times for anyone who wants to understand themselves at least a little, and this path is more than in life.
The first part of the film is very boring, boring and seems meaningless. When I watched the film for the first time, I don’t even know how I endured an hour and a half of thrust, it was painfully delayed. I was annoyed by the heroine - a cocky, capricious and impatient girl, about whom they mumbled for a long and persistent time. As they say, first impressions are often deceptive. More specifically, this is how we see people. We see an external manifestation, actions, the causes of which we do not know, behavior that sometimes seems so rash and unpleasant.
And so the second part of the film just takes us out of this self-admiration and criticism of the other and devotes to the subtle plans of the soul of a man, a young girl, whom you begin to sympathize with, empathize with, who you fall in love with all your soul and so you want her to find happiness, peace and harmony within yourself. The harmony we all need.
This is an amazing film with great actors. And although, as I said, the first part of the film was delayed, on the second - you forgive everything. Because there is no person who has nothing to cope with in himself. And so you start to understand the heroine. You believe her, you're compassionate. And you begin to understand yourself somewhere and see the reasons for your actions. At least this film was very close to me and helped me realize something.
In the film, in general, there are a lot of interesting things, thoughts and thoughts. I think everyone can discover something important for themselves. The picture is filled with depth and beautiful execution. Shah Rukh Khan is an actor with great experience and a huge number of unforgettable roles. Alia Bhatt is a new, but already pleasant actress for me. And Shah could not help but intrigue with his role as a “guide of a girl to the world of love and forgiveness of himself”, who was also able to penetrate his soul into the problems of the heroine.
A wonderful film, wonderful actors, very wise thoughts. Should I watch? Definitely! You will not waste your time.
The film exceeded all expectations, it is very healthy and positive. It makes us pause a little bit, take our mind off our worries, and think about our lives, what we're doing, where we're going, and where we really want to go. Alia Bhatt, as the main character, shows a great game. Her heroine is still young and very beautiful, she has her whole life ahead of her, and she wants to make her life, regardless of her parents or friends, or rather, make her life happy, because it is, as you like to believe, never too late. She's looking for happiness. The film is viewed in one breath, leaving a pleasant mark on itself for a long time. In my opinion, some aspects of Kaira’s training with a psychologist seem a little naive, and the ending of the film is in the style of a classic fairy tale. But this, once again, everything is very cool, the film has a clear meaning, and it reaches the viewer.
For a long time I did not get to see Indian films, I never regretted the two and a half hours allotted for viewing. As in all Indian films, there is also music and dance, everything harmoniously fits into the plot, you can see modern India. This is not the usual Indian cinema that we used to see in the 90s. It’s a pity that there aren’t many films like this, although I’ve never been a big fan of Indian cinema. But maybe I'm becoming one.
Before viewing a little confused the name of the film, in one translation write Dear Zindagi, in the other “Dear ...”, yet it would be more convenient for the eyes to see the title “Dear Life”. The film is mostly about life. However, for some reason only half of the name was translated. Seeing that the film had a good rating, I decided to watch it. Now I can confidently say that the film is recommended for viewing by viewers of all ages and fully deserves, in my opinion, a high audience rating.

The film is about a young girl, Kaira, who works as a cinematographer. And her work is perhaps the most important thing in her life, it is the only thing that gives her pleasure. All other aspects are not as important to her as it may seem at first glance. That’s not true, and it’s much more serious.
The idea behind the film is to love life, Jihangir Khan (Shah Rukh Khan) said, “Don’t let your past blackmail your present and destroy your future.” This is the main message of this film.
Shah Rukh Kahn (Dr. Jihangir Khan) is a therapist who approaches treatment differently, and it gives excellent results. Finally, I saw the Shah Rukh I first saw back in 2004, who was real as a therapist, sincere, sweet, funny, look and believe him. Even though there is no clear love line between Kaira and Jiganhir, you feel it, this extraordinary bond that is not just a doctor-patient bond, but much more.
Alia Bhatt (Kaira) - I liked Aliya very much, she managed to create an image of a girl who at first you do not understand, she seems mysterious, constantly torments the idea that she is wrong, then you already empathize with her.
I would like to mention Kunal Kapoor (Raguvendra) and Ali Zafar (Rumi), both characters are very bright and they also helped Kaira understand himself, one by leaving her life and the other by what appeared. Both appeared in her life at the right time.
I really liked the movie. It's quite relevant, I think there aren't many girls like Kaira right now. They are slightly lost, tormented by fears, insecurity, and they are trying to find their way to a happy life. Many do not pay attention to this state, and think that soon everything will pass, although this is wrong. It is important to meet a specialist like Dr. Khan in time, who will bring you to the light and show you that you need to free yourself from your fears, blocks and start living freely.
Life is one and life is very precious.

What could be more beautiful than life? It's priceless! And when we don’t feel it, it starts to become aware of the problems that accumulate and turn into scandals and phobias, and we don’t understand what is happening and there is no end to it. How do you get back to life, how do you feel it again?
Dear Zindegi (life) made an indelible impression on me. Some people say that the heroine behaves pointlessly, but in fact I quite understand her. It makes perfect sense. What do we do when life is leaving us? What do we do to eat fear and anger consume us?
The film raises these important questions, and helps solve them, or guides us toward that solution. It was as if I had gone through all that I felt, Dear Life revealed to me what I had understood for a long time, but could not accurately understand.
Shak Rukh Khan is a living Bollywood legend, and he has done 100 times his hard and deep role. He reminds me of Socrates from the American film Peace Warrior. This role is very suitable for him.
Alia Bhatt – the first time I saw her in the role of the arrogant girl from Student of the Year and there she amazed me with her performance. In "Dear Zindega" Aliya played very sensual, easy, and most importantly - sincerely (which was the main thing in this role).
The rest were also pleased with their game, the plot is smooth and full of life philosophy, which should help us - the audience to feel the beauty and joy of the idea that the actors bring to the picture, and this is how life is dear, love you Zindagi.
I really wanted to see more of these films made, and as Bollywood is more and more pleasing to us with beautiful pictures and soundtracks for them, I think this is not the end.
First, I will be surprised why the film is called “The Road of Zindagi” here, even though there is no Zindagi (“life” in Hindi) and why the doctor in the annotation was called a dissident?
All right, let's go. So, the film is about how a young girl, repeatedly breaking off a romantic relationship at the very beginning, finally realizes that something is wrong with her, and begins to visit a psychiatrist. Let’s finish this brief and move on to the discussion.
The film Karan Dzhokhar, or rather, his production work. In general, Karan is increasingly pleased with such non-standard Indian films. He very successfully selects scenarios that elicit responses in the hearts of viewers. 90 percent of his films become blockbusters.
Alia Bhatt has proven again that she entered the film industry not just because she is Bhatt. At first glance, her role is not so heavy, without all these emotional outbursts familiar to Indian cinema, but this naturalness is actually very difficult to play. The girl did a great job.
Shah Rukh Khan is not a fan, and the first minutes of his appearance in the film rather annoyed me, but it should rather be attributed to the shortcomings of the script, they tried too much at the first appearance to make him a typical “crazy professor”, and this Shah did not succeed. When “crazy” disappeared from the script, and instead, soulfulness and understanding came into Dr. Khan’s image, Shah fit perfectly. In general, this actor has a surprisingly strong charm - when you look at him in the role, it is impossible not to get carried away. After watching his films, I am usually impressed for several days, although, again, I treat him rather indifferently.
I’m not going to suck the review out of my finger, I’ve already written a lot, I’ll just say that the film is mandatory if you have any problems in your life. I guarantee that you will begin to look at yourself and what surrounds you in a completely different way, and maybe even find the right solution for yourself. The film leaves behind a very bright, warm feeling, it is really a very life-affirming movie. It is a pity that in Russia Indian cinema is still more “underground”, such films should be seen by as many people as possible.
Dear Life is one of those Indian movies that everyone should watch. This is also a movie worth watching more than once. This is a film about women, about the difficult inner world of women, about her fears and experiences. The film helps to understand what can be behind different actions, whims, tantrums of women. This film is incredibly earthy in the sense that in every second frame, the fair sex, for sure, will be able to recognize themselves. I definitely recognized myself in many of the actions and experiences of the main character. And from what I learned, I somehow began to understand myself better. I largely identified with the main character and it helped me to experience the strongest catharsis and even see possible ways to solve my own problems.
In addition, this film is interesting because it is about the relationship between a therapist and a client. I am a psychologist myself and it was very important for me to see a competent demonstration of psychotherapeutic sessions in this film. And I saw it.
Due to the fact that the film touches on the topic of psychotherapeutic relationships, when watching it, you feel that you are undergoing therapy yourself. That is, the metaphors, aphorisms that the therapist uses in the film turned out to be very universal. So I wanted to remember, record and use them in my life.
Of course, the main component of the success of this film I consider a good script and strong direction, but still “Dear Life” would not be so masterpiece without talented acting.
Alia Bhat A couple of movies ago I was a little repulsive. I didn't understand why there was so much of it in Bollywood, why it was so popular, etc. After "The Flying Punjab" I began to realize that the actress is very talented, and in "Dear Life" Aliyah conquered not only my mind, but also my heart. In this film, Alia made me empathize with her character more than ever.
Shah Rukh Khan. I’m definitely not a fan of this actor, but Shah was good in this movie. The role of a wise psychotherapist-mentor suited him very well. And it does not matter if Shah played the main or secondary role in this film, but the role was definitely bright, memorable and, most importantly, suitable for the age of the actor.
Kunal Kapoor has always liked me as an actor. There's something about him. So I was really excited to see him in this movie, even in a small role. Ali Zafar has an interesting image of a kind of romantic dreamer musician, a little detached from reality.
Traditional music videos, staged dances, dances and other Indian flavor in the film will not be found. The songs are rather voice-over, unobtrusive, but perfectly convey the experiences of the characters.
At the end of the film there is a lot of joy inside, but at the same time watching some of the episodes, I just burst into tears - something very deep was touched.
Gauri Shinde never ceases to amaze me with his talent to easily and simply present such complex problems of a person, his inner state of mind and relationships on the screen.
Everything in this movie is perfect! Music, actors, plot, heroes, dialogues, humor, drama. There is nothing superfluous, but it does not feel that something is missing.
If the film did not come out 1200 screens, but more than 4000, as it happens with top actors like Shah Rukh Khan, then the fees would be higher, and the film became not just a hit, but a blockbuster. But this film is not for everyone, it is not an entertaining story about a young girl and her therapist. There is no heartbreaking love story, action and other attributes of the masala genre. This is a spiritual and intellectual film, quite unusual for Indian cinema. So it can be seen even by non-Indomans.
Kaira, or Koka as her friends and family call her, performed by Alia Bhatt, was amazing. Talent is being revealed more and better. Indeed, when it seems that everything in life is perfect, everything is fine, what can cause problems? Why is she like that? Respect for Alia Bhatt I got a little earlier for her other roles, but here she showed a completely new image of an unstable girl who keeps abandoning her guys.
Jihangir Khan (Shah Rukh Khan) helps her to untangle the chains in which she has become entangled, first carefully chaining herself. And, perhaps, better than the King of Bollywood, the irresistible Shah, no one could convey the role of a wise and mature, but very simple and humorous psychologist who speaks so brilliantly about life and feelings. His special charisma created on the screen a really unusual love story, as stated by the Director at the release of the film. that unusual relationship, very subtle and very sweet.
The idea of the film, conveyed by Gauri Shinde, is not just a relationship between people (a therapist-client, a girl and her boyfriends), but the issue of fathers and children is raised, when many of our problems originate from childhood trauma. And Kaira's account (that long road to admitting and uncovering trauma) was very moving. And not just a psychologist, she admitted to herself why she was like that. It is very important to be able to admit to yourself. When the heroine had a dialogue at the beginning of the film with one guy, she did not yet understand this.
Why do you go to the shrink? To tell people you're gay?
No, to admit that I'm gay.
A film with deep psychological stuffing, which is surprisingly easy, light and just was shown on screen. Impressions from the film remain the same airy, I also want to say “I love you, life! Hello, life! It's me!
Such films not only raise questions that are difficult to talk about, difficult to explain, but are therapeutic in themselves. Dr. Jihangir's words alone are worth a lot. I won’t even quote because it needs to be heard, especially from Shah Rukh Khan. How he says it, with what expression, voice, at what moment. All these details are very important and effective!
Separate praise for the musical accompaniment, which very well conveyed all the shades of emotions of the heroes. And even in itself, any song from the film is very melodic and pleasant.
Let me tell you more about secondary heroes. Everyone was perfect! The appearance on the screen Kunil Kapoor is just another gift. And in the end, a specially invited actor will be another pleasant surprise. So watch the film will be exactly with a good mood and pleasant thoughts, singing Dear Zindagi.
