Enemy of society. Return of the hero Kang Chul Jun is the most promising and diligent prosecutor, preferring to investigate the crime scene to sit at the table. He personally participates in various investigative activities. And when the case of Han Sang-oo, the future head of the Moon Sung Foundation, is handed to him, the prosecutor begins to feel a hidden threat. Especially since San-u is his former classmate, who was always one step ahead of the prosecutor.
The plot seems to be going smoothly. The film begins with the memories of the hero - a large-scale fight of schoolchildren, not as epic as in Takashi Miike's "The Ravens", but still very true not in the sense of a fight, but the truths that the boy learned. The film captures our time. Very surprised that the daring detective Kang Chul Jun, who did not shy away from violations of rules and laws, suddenly became an exemplary prosecutor. Of course, this storyline may be related to the sequel to the first film, where he successfully solved the murder. The motives and logic of the criminal are clear, but suddenly he breaks down by committing a rash murder of a person who just curled up under his arm.
The film is shot in the usual Korean style - it is a compromise action movie about the hero, which, despite all the obstacles, gives battle to enemies. Cruelty went up in places, there were not enough positive moments. But apart from the detective, the film can be called an intellectual thriller in which two intellectuals clashed. Two bright personalities who have known each other since childhood, so their battle was much harder than it seemed on the surface. A hero for me is a very strong person, his strength is not physical (although he is strong for many), he is strong morally - he managed to abandon the future, remaining true to his principles and his life path, and in this his character is visible, because not everyone can do this. And it was perfectly performed by Sol Gen Gu, a great actor.
Yu Hae Jin appeared only at the end of the film, despite the occasional appearance brought humor and charm to the picture. Also pleased was Kan Shin Il/b, who again played the boss of Kang, again a strict and fair detective.
Public Enemy 2, I liked the film, even though it was clearly weaker than the first and third films. Again, I will recommend to fans of the actor Sol Gen Gu, and Korean cinema.
