Flowers After Berries: Final I don't know about you, but I think modern cinema is slowly dying. When both series and dramas cover more and more sympathies of modern viewers. Largely due to the fact that in the pursuit of high-tech achievements, most films are suitable only for one-time viewing. When both, series require a smaller budget and win with their particular charm. It is not surprising that their popularity is higher than ever. Especially in dramas, which due to their popularity easily go to the full meter. So it was with the TV series “Liar Games” and happened with this tape. It was obvious that with the huge success of the two-season drama, the creators would not want to say goodbye easily and would try to raise at least more money. This explains that fearing the low quality of the product, the creators willingly returned almost the entire crew. Did the creators manage to keep the bar? I think so.
Obviously, this film turned out to be weaker than two seasonal dramas, but nevertheless, the director of the film Ishii Yasuhara made a really decent product. With the transition from the “serial” format to the cinematic, the drama clearly lost certain advantages. Especially atmospheric Japanese spirit, which gave the drama a national flavor. Immediately, almost immediately it becomes clear that the creators at every opportunity try to develop the drama elements of Hollywood. Nevertheless, the atmospheric film is still excellent and easily takes by the soul with its unprecedented ease, charge of positivity, beauty and romanticism.
Especially the last 20 minutes, which turned out insanely beautiful, romantic, kind, bright and truly positive. A sincere smile did not leave my face for a second, and my heart melted from the apotheosis of romanticism, with which even American romantic melodramas cannot be compared. In the rest, visually the film turned out to be very juicy and budget-colored. It is gratifying that the creators of the drama did not stop shooting in New York and decided to move on. Thus, the film saturated with even more really juicy shots of American soil. Especially Las Vegas and nearby deserts with mountains, which give just luxurious shots and landscapes. And Hong Kong is not left out.
Unlike many viewers, I have always highlighted the morals and the instructive aspects of the series, which willingly raised quite topical issues. I am glad that the film was no exception to the rule. If two seasons of dramas raised more social issues and themes, then the basic morality swirls only around a personal theme that is familiar either to all lovers with a serious relationship or to those who have yet to face it. It's marriage. Relationships must always develop and it is not surprising that sooner or later the relationship should come to the creation of a new family.
The creators perfectly highlighted the numerous aspects of the excitement that lovers face on the threshold of their wedding. When it seems that the need for a wedding disappears, swearing increases in volume and quantity, and there is no complete confidence in your decision. It is gratifying that the creators diluted such scenes with luxurious humor. Take at least the moment when the main character makes a “hook right” and knocks out the panther insanely funny. Mostly because of surprise. However, the creators bring it all to a very logical and happy ending. As if hinting that these are only inevitable obstacles, which are only proof of the seriousness of your relationship and tries to explain that what were not the obstacles on the way, they must be overcome.
Otherwise, the plot develops easily and at the same time rapidly. It's like he's trying to recreate the hyperbole of a romantic relationship between a man and a woman. Thus, leading the viewer to an incredibly luxurious finale, which turned out to be really good and as if logically ending the story on the right note. Nevertheless, the last phrases said by the heroine clearly suggest a possible continuation in the spirit of the last part of “American Pie”. Where all the characters will meet again after the n’th number of years and we will see the degree of their maturity since then.
Mao Inoe played just fine. Finally, I saw less “curves” and more of her character’s personal drama. Which made me very happy. Jun Matsumoto, Shun Oguri, Shota Matsuda and Tsuyoshi Abe played equally well. It is a pity that the last three easily went by the wayside and pleased only with episodes, but Jun Matsumoto for the first time stood out as a luxurious performance in the benefit. Mariko Kaga played luxuriously and amazingly. Surprisingly, in large part, it was difficult to perceive her as the “divine of God” here, when in two seasons of the drama she proved to be a bitch. In the rest, it is nice that the creators invited all the key actors who managed to light up in the two seasons of the drama. Which definitely made the film better and caused nostalgic notes.
The music of the composer of the tape Kosuke Yamashita turned out simply luxurious. It is gratifying that Kosuke not only retained many musical motifs and the sound of the original drama, but also brought more fresh and unique sounds to this project. Which made the work more intense and impressive.
10 out of 10
A very easy, positive, kind, bright, beautiful and insanely romantic ending to the drama I already loved. Of course, it turned out to be weaker than the series, but the project still turned out to be very worthy of quality and for this reason, I gladly recommend it to you.
