I will say right away, the synopsis was written by a person who did not watch the movie, i.e. he is not at all about this, in the style of “heard the ringing.”
The idea of the film bluntly exploits the cult source and is largely based on constant references to it, both in the external side and in internal relationships. Here, the main character from the “Easy Rider” announced relatives who suddenly needed to destroy the past. But the past naturally grew old, leaving only bright images in the form of a motorcycle, sparkling chrome in the sun, star-striped coloring and leather clothes. From this simple combination, they tried to make a semblance of a family drama, where the long-dead protagonist in absentia continues to play a role in the memories of still living relatives.
The film is saturated with visual and semantic references to the 1969 film, even in small details, and therefore looks nothing more than a pathetic imitation in comparison with it. Fans of the visual series of the original “Easy Rider”, still, will be able to please the eye. As for me: the brother of the deceased Wyatt looks natural pity, who himself looks already in his fifties, but he continues to imitate his idol for decades even in the smallest details. And this man speaks of some kind of freedom, being a willing slave of a ridiculous image!
In abundance, a pleasant musical accompaniment is used, under which they show riding a motorcycle on long desert roads. Under such a video, it is easy to relax and distract from the hustle and bustle of the earth... However, the plot does not allow you to do this fully, because it long and tediously rubs the viewer with some murky family story about participation in wars, drug trafficking, ancient resentments of fathers and children, and love stories glued to the side. In all this, in absentia, as a memory, participates in different ages Wyatt, the deceased hero of the first part. The plot revolves around an elderly father, whose first son is Wyatt, the second who escaped to Mexico from the conscription of a drug dealer, the third is a hero of the Vietnam War. And then there is the youngest daughter, who wants to bring together the surviving family members for the birthday of a sick old man. . .
In the film, there are many conversations and immersions in the family history, which the viewer absolutely does not care, but over time you still imbue with some sympathy for this old man. His image turned out very lively, grandfather played the role perfectly.
The so-called protagonist of this story, the younger brother of the deceased Wyatt, his pathetic imitator, turned out to be a completely uninteresting character. However, like everyone else in this film, with their flashbacks, their current life situation, and a whole bunch of absolutely secondary details, which for some reason is the focus.
For the sake of the “spirit of freedom”, the film tried to bring as close as possible to typical fantasies on the theme “me and my bike”, up to the joyous squeals behind the wheel, which looks just childish.
Emotions here are often played or not at all relevant to the moment, and it is almost never clear how they are caused. Only in this one clearly manifested the simultaneous weakness of the script, directing and acting skills, because the script is simply bad, the direction is inept, and the actors do not know what they want from them and what they are involved in.
Conclusion. If you are a fan of biker-themed film stories, then in this film you can enjoy in abundance the presented chrome and long road flights to good music. However, it is characteristic that the sound of a motorcycle is very rarely heard here.
Fans of the “Easy Rider” do not recommend watching, because the main story of this spinoff is really cloudy, burdened with many details, names and events. Perhaps fans of intricate family dramas will find pros here for themselves. The spirit of the first part did not even stand nearby, and even more so, its real meaning is cruel sarcasm.
PS
Sometimes on the front or rear wheel of the "Captain America" you can see a small eight. (Either it is a poorly balanced rubber, anyway.)
