A film with logic at the level of oligophrenia. In the first seconds they show a fat woman and say that she has anorexia. Anorexia! If someone does not understand, this diagnosis is directly opposite to her condition. After this, you can turn off and put a unit, so everything is clear. Immediately after that, there is a completely cartoonish jump between skyscrapers, this is the physics from Tom and Jerry, a shot from the berdana with a transformer bullet across the city from the bottom up with a hit exactly at the target, bullets flying along the arc ... “Comrade ensign, if you put the gun sideways, can you shoot around the corner? - You can, but it's not legal. It was anecdotes of grotesque incomprehensible idiocy, and in the film it is shown seriously. And the whole movie is out of this nonsense, just the whole thing. Sudden teleportation of characters, people disappearing and appearing out of nowhere, objects, scars, damage, completely idiotic twists, holes. Look at the YouTube video "All the sins of the movie "Especially dangerous." Hollywood should have just gone underground after this movie. And he raised $341 million! With a budget of 75. So he was successful! You can do anything with such a viewer.
I looked at the reviews. I thought the film was above average. (And here's the insert.) I've seen a lot of movies already. Unfortunately, as the Angles like to say, the film was a lame one. General impressions. Tattooed Jolie, swaggering Khabensky (although maybe that's his nature). Ponts, ponts. "Much wise" Freeman with indelible traces of sores on his face. It's a cast. The script is more or less.
So, so. 'Fight Club'. 'The Matrix'. 'The Return of the Jedi'. 'Watch'.
From ' Fight Club' - the idea of a rebellion of an office slave who has nowhere to go his drive and his aggression. From ' Matrix' - a kind of ballistics. Here one does not shy away from encounters with bullets, here ... the bullets themselves evade. From 'The Return of the Jedi' - I won't say that, although it's a Polichinel secret. From ' Watches' - branded Bekmambetov blackness, some dirty mysticism, which, probably, in Hollywood take for ' Russian style'.
All in all, nerd (Isn't that a mate? miss?) and loser Wesley Gibson finds out there's no spoon... in the sense that he's a Jedi Anton Gorodetsky... and the son of a tough assassin who was killed by his former colleague, an even cooler assassin, renegade and renegade who betrayed the ancient Brotherhood of Weavers. In general, this phrase for a person with a humanitarian education seems vaguely familiar, and for a reason: ' weavers' called the Cathars. That's probably where the legs grow. But the Cathars were Gnostics and heretics, not assassins.
Here we have guys worshipping a loom that periodically crashes and weaves binary-coded names into the canvas. The names of those who must be killed to prevent more evil. The Lesser Evil Principle.
In principle, the metaphor is clear: the thread of fate, the canvas of fate, the thread of life that spin (and cut off with a stray bullet) moira. The ancient image, the whole Western world reads it at once. However, in such a fresh, technologized form, this image begins to give off some infernalism. What, by the way, and the entire visual series of events at ' weaving factory' contributes.
Even our hero, who has nothing to lose and who has already imagined himself a defender of justice and an avenger for his father, has some doubts at first. But Fox convinces him. Jolie, beautiful with frighteningly emaciated beauty, convinces him. And when Wesley says his signature 'Sorry' and pulls the trigger with a young McAvoy's charming smile, you know he actually likes it. The question is what will happen next when this euphoria subsides.
To be honest, I am disgusted not even by the idea ' kill one, save a thousand'. I assume that this is possible, although not in such a percentage ratio. I don't like the ordering machine. And I do not like it even more actively than the inevitable trap of abuse of power and the high probability of error - everything that our weavers would face, if they formed their own killer list on their own.
This is me sitting here reasoning, and in the film of reasoning so, dotted, all screen time is given to beautifully flying fragments, beautifully dancing bullets and ... ugly muzzle. However, the viewer immediately becomes clear that there will be no funny movie about superheroes, Wesley got into an extremely bad story. And then it becomes clear to Wesley himself. I can’t say that there is a cool drama – everything is too simple, and we didn’t try to complicate it: this is a blockbuster shooter, not an arthouse drama. But I can’t call the ending fun either. If it is the end of what I think it is.
You know, I'm probably violent, but I would be a director... or a writer... or a producer... leaving Wesley to die on the street under an empty ATM. Not what we were shown in the cheerful post-cryptum - yes, there is a postscript! I'm inclined to think it was very thick trolling. Couldn't they be serious? Or could you? . .
P.S. I’m very interested in what was in the original voiceover instead of Wesley’s phrase: 'Mouse ran, waved its tail ...' with which he accompanied his fateful terrorist attack.
Having attracted such combat units as Morgan Freeman, Angelina Jolie and promising McAvoy to his Hollywood cinema, Bekmambetov bribes the average viewer with the brutal commandment “choose your fate” (veiledly hiding “the Russians here”). And everything would be nothing, only here unprofessionalism and overly protruding gloss is not covered with talented stars and special effects. The latter, by the way, are made by one Moscow studio, so it is not surprising that even for a fantastic adaptation of the comic book, the “stick” of physics is bent to obscenity. Still, Timur Nuruakhitovich is more of a clipmaker than a conscious director.
But, anyway, the movie is quite watchable, bright and does not leave grains of something conscious after watching, which makes it a wonderful soothing after a hard day - took, spit and forgot.

How many in recent years has not been filmed all sorts of comic books, but the idea, originally associated with the idea of the film adaptation of the comic book Mark Millar & #39; wanted & #39; still looked impressive. The sophisticated viewer has already seen a lot - the bastard superheroes in ' Guardians', selfish masked stars in the TV series ' Guys', simple comic book fans dressing up as superheroes in the dilogy 'Kick-Ass' but a world secretly controlled by supervillains who long ago killed all superheroes and erased any mention of this in history - this would be nonsense. And this even after the release of the acclaimed ' Joker' would look quite original, fresh and risky.
As a result, this idea was abandoned anyway, retaining only the general outline with the transformation of office plankton into an invulnerable and trained professional killer. The brotherhood of supervillains, secretly ruling the world, was changed to the Brotherhood of Superkillers, secretly making fate obeying the unknown orders of a magical loom, and the main feature of the film was the superpower of these killers to adjust the trajectory of the bullet at their own discretion.
At the same time, we still have in fact a superhero action movie, just with some "Russian color" & #39; I don’t know why, maybe because of the easily recognizable dubbing of domestic stars, maybe because of the soundtrack and general entourage, as well as small ' Easter & #39; like Jolie driving a domestic 'penny' but the film is still perceived as an expensive Russian blockbuster filmed on Hollywood money and in Hollywood pavilions. I do not know how Bekmambetov manages this, but almost all of his subsequent American films were perceived this way.
As for the plot itself - it is so simple that it can be painted on one sheet of notebook. And predictable, so the final 'twist' not particularly surprising, rather makes you ask a lot of questions to the writers. And by the way, the main character just voices them, but the answers are still incomprehensible.
Despite the rather stellar set of the ensemble, almost all the characters in the film are actually character-functions. With the main character everything is clear - in the course of the film, he transforms from a hard loser to a real brutal killer, and James McAvoy managed to play this transformation great. Of course, it doesn’t take a lot of brains to play a tough guy in an action movie, where you play the main role, but it was necessary to try to play such a loser and whiner as he was at the beginning of the film. As for Angelina Jolie and her heroine - radically different from the original, but it is already clear that the writers sent the original comics far away. Jolie’s character is not just the mentor of the main character, as in the original comic. In any cool Hollywood blockbuster, a sexual girlfriend of the main character is necessary, and, in fact, this function was performed by Angelina Jolie, because at that time she was still nothing (which is only her languid cat look), and her Fox was just the same fatal woman so necessary for the film, and in a duet with McAvoy she looked great, which is seen in the dialogues, and filmed in a slow-mo kiss (advertised in each trailer), and in general some chemistry was noticeable between the actors. And in general, who else would Bekmambetov remove in the nude, if not for her - Morgan Freeman? As for Freeman, they are the same in every movie. Here he does not really try to surprise the sophisticated viewer - a wise old leader of an ancient clan of murderers, he showed nothing new, but he does not need to prove anything. Such a master is enough simply to appear in the frame to improve the quality and digestibility ' fitting ' Hollywood product. Thomas Kretschmann as ' supervillain' the film looked so pretty, but the main function of the role performed normally - well, you can believe that such a guy can put a good half of professional assassins. Konstantin Khabensky was here exactly in order to once again recall the Russian connection of the film and please the domestic audience.
As a result, we have a standard, but still quite spectacular and bright Hollywood action movie, which is still perceived as a comic book, no matter how far it goes from the original ideas, and the comic book is quite strong and, despite the banality and craziness of the plot, still able to take its place among the best representatives of the genre. And in general, this is a lightweight summer blockbuster, watching which you can have a great rest, so this film is definitely one of those that you will review, accidentally finding it on TV, clicking channels. This ' Particularly dangerous' I catch, forcing to write about it even after so many years and after a huge number of views - like nothing in it, but remains one of the favorite Hollywood action films.

Timur Bakmambetov, a playwright from Kazakhstan, conquered the world with the films Night Watch and Day Watch based on the books of Sergei Lukyanenko. That is why he was invited to shoot in Hollywood the film “Especially dangerous” and as loudly stated here, this is a film with Konstantin Khabensky and Angelina Jolie.
A young clerk (and this is not Konstantin Khabensky, but James McAvoy) in an ordinary office lives the life of an ordinary person until he gets into a strange situation and strangers begin to hunt him. Here he is helped by the charming Fox (Angelina Jolie), leads him to a club of assassins and becomes his mentor. Khabensky is also in the case, he is one of the killers, a specialist bomber who loves rats, a kind of Nutcracker.
What you like. Jolie here has not yet turned into a dried skeleton and it is pleasant to look at it, but there is a certain, if you pull by the ears, intimacy between Jolie and Khabensky, there is Morgan Freeman (although after statements about Russia and the scandal of intimacy with the murdered granddaughter, he somehow rolled in my eyes below Wakanda), good tricks and combat scenes, underpers with the flight of a bullet, and a detective story.
That I didn't like. The voiceover of Sergei Bezrukov of the main character is simply ugly, some characters are too predictable, since this is Timur’s first film in the United States, he decided to bring a Russian flavor to the film, but he did it clumsy and understandable only to the population of the former USSR, a blurred finale.
As a result, a passing action movie of which is full in the world, they pass in cinemas, collect their cash register and are forgotten over time. We remember it only because it is the first directorial swallow in Hollywood from our cinema.

The film adaptation of comics in cinema has long been commonplace. There is room for demonstrating bright images, action, an interesting plot. There are good examples, and not so good. Something stays in the middle. Leaving thoughts that could have been better, but it will work. It is the latter that can be attributed to the film by Timur Bemambetov “Particularly dangerous”. Before the viewer is a typical theme of the choice of the main character. Wesley is a simple clerk, he has a meaningless life and a weak character. It's bad, but suddenly he finds out he's special. Realizing that he is not like everyone else, he finally takes control of the situation and shows that sooner or later patience runs out and now few people will get well. Under the final prepared small surprises that attentive viewers can predict.
What you can praise the film for is the dynamics. Inventive action, slow-motion, very organically fit into the plot. Plus, Bekmambetov competently visualizes the emotional color of the main character. James McAvoy is good. Worked according to the scheme of the chosen: rejection, acceptance, sense of responsibility. There's nothing to say about Jolie, she's nothing. Yeah, cool. But in this film, she is laconic and does not give a particularly strong acting.
In principle, everything good ends there. Often the film is a very stupid and farcical lawlessness, filled with clichés and shoals. The movie leaves many questions that are never answered. What kind of idiocy, a loom that predicts fate? That even sounds ridiculous. To be honest, watching the plot after Wesley realized his strength and abilities is not very interesting. Because then there are delusional training, jogging on trains and other labuda. This, of course, looks spectacular at times. And all films are more or less guilty of improbability, blunders and inconsistencies, but not to the same extent. You don't even have to look very closely. Everything lies on the surface.
As a result, we still have a very spectacular, dynamic, sometimes inventive film, rich in form, but not content. Bekmambetov successfully approached the pitch. At that time, it was difficult to find analogues, but now in the age of the industry of frequent adaptation of comics and blockbusters filled with humor, irony and satire, what Bekmambetov completely forgot, the film looks good, for once, but no more.
If you turn it off in the middle, then even nothing.
It’s been almost 10 years since the film came out, and I still remember the hype created around it, even the comic book was released, which was still quite rare at the time. At that time, “Especially Dangerous” somehow passed by me, later I got a couple of times to his excerpts, which were already shown on TV, but he did not arouse interest. And now I've decided to take a look at it as an introduction to McAvoy's filmography. This is a one-time movie for me.
The film begins in the classic script - from a downtrodden loser to superheroes. Meet Wesley, an office plankton tired of the gray, monotonous life, but doing nothing to change it. He goes to unpleasant work with unpleasant colleagues, lives not in the best apartment, closes his eyes to the infidelities of his girlfriend, sits on pills. They are trying to show us how sad Wesley’s life is, and it turns out quite realistic. Every day is like a jaded record, and it would continue if one day (or not so day) his life was not changed by the fateful beauty Fox. She drags him into a shootout and a mad pursuit at high speeds, and then even says that he is a hereditary killer with superpowers and got straight to the school of a mutant ... an ancient order of killers. The hero is scared and does not believe in what is happening, but all doubts are dispelled from the impressive amount on the account. And now he begins his training in the Order. The hero is literally hammered (Wesley repeatedly gets punched in the face), who he is, what he is, why he is. And after a couple of months, the killer is ready.
Despite the clichéd beginning of the film, I still liked it. Wesley's emotions, his unusual training, the keyboard moment. But after that, the plot of the film flies into the same abyss as the train through the fault of the main character. The writer seems to throw his manuscript in the middle and walks away with the words: “Well, the action there throw more.” Absurd prophesying machine, the idea, of course, original, but too strange. Wesley completely loses motivation, creates strange things, other characters also do not understand what they are doing, the moment with the train and the “unexpected” turn with his father, the hero’s run, which should look cool and pathetic, looks ridiculous and funny. There was a feeling that the whole crew suddenly got tired of making this film, and they quickly put together something incoherent. The idea of the film is not bad, it would be interesting to develop it. And after all, the movie is kind of like a comic book, get ready, why invent a bicycle. But the creators seemed lazy, did not think, did not finish.
Now it is difficult to judge the special effects, perhaps in 2008 they were impressive, but now the painted train and mice are too striking.
Of the actors I can single out only McAvoy and Khabensky. The first tried as best he could and played well, but towards the end, it seems, he was already tired of acting in this incomprehensible mess. Khabensky got a small role of a strange cranberry Russian and for him even somehow hurtful, completely not allowed to turn around. It’s not clear why everyone praises Jolie and Freeman for their big names. Jolie the whole film with a stone face, her character is already not spelled out and boring, so she does not try to revive her. It's as if she's Angelina enough, or maybe it's just not enough. Freeman plays Freeman, he has many similar roles and he looks faded.
Separately, I want to highlight a nightmare voiceover. Bezrukov made Wesley a goofy cattle. After the car chase scene at the beginning, I switched to the original with subtitles because listening was too unpleasant.
So what happened? No fish, no meat. You can watch, but you don’t want to because of the indistinct scenario.
Moral: If your life is shit, don’t change anything about it until you meet a cool aunt from an ancient order and see a beautiful number on your map.

The film belongs to the category of already well-worn stories, about the most ordinary person who suddenly becomes the “chosen one”, from him in a short time make a superhero, and in the end he defeats bad people with great experience in his business. Maybe such films are popular because they give a person faith that he, sitting in the office, was created for something more, or maybe just for watching a movie where you do not need to think about anything, to worry.
Although in this film there is a plot and turns of events, albeit moments and not quite original. The plot gathered a mixture of various blockbusters from “The Matrix” to “The Watches” and so on. But there is something individual about it that catches attention. But here's the fabric idea, which I didn't like very much, it's not clear, although it's unusual. But the film has an impressive cast, which can not but please. But only the Russian voiceover a little pumped up, Jolie in principle does not fit her voice, and the voice of Bezrukov hero James McAvoy is too theatrical, and even worse recognizable.
Although by and large, the film saves the cast.
But what is really worth noting is special effects, such as a flying bullet, on which every detail is drawn, which is really cool, and in general, there is a lot of slow-motion and detail in the film that can not be ignored.
Personally, I was interested in the film. But for viewing, I would advise only those who like this genre, despite the excess of copies and claws, the rest of the film will seem very ordinary.

Beckmambet’s style of shooting mixed with a good plot gives rise to something controversial, but special.
Having learned the skill of action on two “Watch”, Timur Bekmambetov finally moved to Hollywood, and the starting point was the action movie “Specially dangerous”. The project involved such well-known actors as Morgan Freeman, Angelina Jolie, James McAvoy and Konstantin Khabensky (well, in one of the third-rate roles – now popular Chris Pratt). It is not surprising that the director did not care about the original comic (although it is hardly known to the masses, so it is not scary) and created a completely different work, with its original style.
The film, on the one hand, is really cool, and on the other hand - enchantingly funny and funny. The plot here is truly inventive, many moments are remembered for their madness and uniqueness. Never before has so much attention been paid to the direction of each bullet fired, the detailed examination of its flight and its hitting the target. I've never seen a hitman's target output a machine and a name read by the interweaving of threads in the fabric. For such outstanding trifles, as well as for the grinding action scenes of Timur Bekmambetov, I still want to love, closing my eyes to his past “feats” in Russian cinema.
And all would be well, but Bekmambetov very much overdone the effects of slowing down, which show in detail the facial expressions of actors (especially McAvoy), caught in another alteration. It looks to nervous laughter ridiculous and strange, I want some more seriousness from the story, and she sometimes gives such pearls. In general, in terms of special effects, which are crazy to go as many, the director does what he can, sometimes forgetting so much that the film from a suitable attraction turns into a strange carousel, sitting on which, bewildered by the view around and the speed that carries you along the axis. Along with product placement (Bekmambetov never betrays himself in this), some episodes cause slight irritation, according to which it becomes clear that “the Russians have passed here.” In addition to Khabensky, scenes in the office are also listed here: the very boss of the main character resembles some awkward heroine of domestic sitcoms. This is how the illusion of a cool Hollywood action movie is destroyed by small details, breaking on the pebbles of unscrupulous Bekmambetov’s vision. Sounding in the final credits of the song is generally a separate diagnosis.
"Especially dangerous" is suitable only for a one-time acquaintance, to know what kind of beast it is and why it made so much noise in the year of its release. Despite many not the most attractive moments, in general, the action movie turned out to be surprisingly tolerable, if not especially think about who the director is.

I will start with the end: I will not watch any more films by Timur Bekmambetov.
One thing I don’t understand: under what torture did Jolie and McAvoy agree to star in such a monstrously meaningless film? Didn't they read the script? All right, James, who did his best (Dirt, X-Men) later, but Angelina, the Oscar-winning actress, who, I thought, chose the right roles? You can understand that, though. She always, even with Lara Croft, there were such characters: a cool, strong, banal, but insanely sexy woman with eyes perfectly made up even for murder, who will surely fall in love with the main character.
But I didn’t expect movies with a budget of $75 million to be such nonsense in 2008.
The plot is typical to the point of impossibility: the main character, a loser, turns out to be a superman with unrealistic abilities, revenge for his father (whom he never saw, well, anyway, we will take revenge), deception (which was obvious by the selection of actors). In short, the plot is stupid, like the whole film.
The actors most likely understood what nonsense they were filming, so they did not enrich the images with something more interesting than typical heroes played five hundred times before them: boss, hero, villain, super-girl of the hero. Not a glimmer of hope among this theater of banality. Except Khabensky. It’s nice to see Khabensky speaking English and drinking vodka. I mean, there's nothing for a hero, but at least something.
Eeffects? I understand that such special effects are the handwriting of Bekmambetov. Is it a good choice? It is one thing when a talented director has his own vision, his own style. Almost everyone will guess Burton by tonality, Tarantino by a mixture of humor, absurdity and blood, Woody Allen by touching, ridiculous situations, by beautiful life dramas. And Bekmambetov – for not very high-quality, very unrealistic slow-motion glass fragments? Is that the face he wants to show the world's cinema? Is that his vision of the world?
Assessment 6.89 on Kinopoisk probably stands out from patriotism. On imdb not far behind - 6.7.
Well, there were some unusual ideas, though thank you for that.
And this film is another proof that the assessment of the masses does not mean anything.
And I repeat: Never go to films where there is the name of Timur Bekmambetov.
Timur Bekmambetov is one of the most talented clipmakers of our country, and many scenes from his films you can superimpose music and start spinning on TV. But the unlucky scenes themselves are good, even very good, but the film of them does not want to add up at all.
A strong plot was never needed in action films, their plot requires only a substantiation of the actions of the characters, not necessarily even plausible, the main thing is that you want to believe in this justification. And here lies the main problem of the film, the plot is not that I can not believe, sometimes it seems that without him it would be even better.
At the same time, the film looks with interest, but this is primarily due to special effects, they were really masterfully worked on. Yes, almost all of them look unrealistic, but incredibly spectacular.
With the cast, everything is very interesting, it seems that the most famous personalities are involved, but there is no really strong acting. Although to some extent they can be forgiven, in full seriousness and with full immersion to speak, these dialogues are probably difficult.

The premiere of the Hollywood blockbuster "Especially dangerous" led by the Russian helmsman announced in Russia "God give so to every film"! First of all, it was mentioned that the film was created by the creator of the Watches Bekmambetov and that he was our Russian, then went into the course of the second PR move - one of the main roles is performed by one of the main frontmen of modern Russian cinema Konstantin Khabensky, and, finally, next to our Russian guys, the film will work and create the inimitable Angelina Jolie, the main diva of Hollywood. Advertisements are good. Plus, all heated interest shots from the trailer with a bare back (and not only) Hollywood prima. It all sounded tempting and... as it turned out... for good reason!
In addition to Khabensky, Bekmambetov, actually Joli, as well as star Freemen, in the Russian dubbing there is a whole scatter of star guys and girls, but they are all, oddly enough, associated with Mr. Timur. This and Ivan Urgant ("Yelki, "Vyrotasy"), and Galina Tyunin ("Watch"), and Gosha Kutsenko ("Gentlemen, good luck"), and Valery Zolotukhin (the same "Watch"), and an inimitable voice from the "Watch", as well as the First Channel in the person Anatoly Maksimov 2, 2, the main one of course / b>, "Izraziymazhimazhimazhimazhimazhimazhimazhimiya", , , >>>> Of course, this is a special conversation! Not only is it somewhat unusual to hear the familiar voice of Bezrukov behind the scenes, and the addictive process takes about 30 minutes of the film, so the voice does not always coincide with the facial expressions of MacEvoy. But... Bezrukov is doing his best, as always, and this cannot be taken away from him. But not by voice, as they say, united. The whole film does not leave the feeling that the main role is not played by James McAvoy, but Bezrukov! To the impossible similar McEvoy and Bezrukov. Even their game is similar. McAvoy was painfully reminiscent of Bezrukov of the time of “Kiss of a butterfly” or “Vysotsky”. It seems that Bekmambetov specifically picked up an actor who looks similar to Sergei, and before all this he wanted to invite Sergey to the lead role in the States, but apparently it did not work out. I would like to stress the similarity between James and Sergei. In some episodes, they are just like two drops of water.
The film wildly explodes consciousness and amazes through its special effects, moments with which it is difficult to count. What’s more, these special effects are realistic, and, here, feel proud of ours! Nothing like this has never been seen before, because it is no wonder that Russians in Hollywood are not favored. On the one hand, the story of a boring clerk turning into a superhero has already been stamped, but as Bekmambetov presented it! Perhaps because here and there, then chases, then high-speed trains, then shootouts, then slow-motion, then bloody wounds, then explosions - and Bekmambetov's mistakes in the adequacy of the plot are lost, but being impressed by the excellent fire-blood picture you forget about all the shortcomings, if they are here.
Of course, there was an emphasis on Jolie. If you look carefully, then there is not so much of it here, but another merit of Bekmambetov that he correctly distributed her screen time, not allowing you to doubt her episodicity. Emphasis was placed on her beauty, and on sexuality, and greatness, and on the main robber of the climax. The film itself, by the way, is a great motivation to rise from your knees. Motivates not only the main character, but also the viewer. True, the main character is somewhat easier, because what else can be the motivation you need when you kiss the most luxurious woman on the planet in front of your former girlfriend?
"Especially dangerous" - a clearly reworked copy of "watches", but in American realities. Here we have similar fates of heroes who passed from the world of mere mortals to superheroes, and flies constantly tinkering in the frame, a fleeting emphasis on children's toys, a machine (chalk) of fate, animal carcasses, buckets of blood, cuts, butcher, instead of yellow-red Zil, a red speed beauty and so on, here also in the frame and Khabensky. Instead of one of the stated main roles, Khabensky plays an episodic role, but what a colorful one! Feeds rats, blows them up, stares at naked wet Angelina, feeds McAvoy vodka and enjoys unsavory artificial breathing from the notorious American beauty. And it's all in a couple of minutes. Yes, we are growing! Dato Bakhtadze also flashed, but more, but ... in the role of a butcher. So it turns out that besides butchers and rat-catchers, we have more hope and nothing to hope for. Thanks for that...
The future star of “Guardians of the Galaxy” — Chris Pratt. Jolie did not cease to surprise, and comfortably admiring an old penny - again, hello Bekmambetov home. Throughout the film, there was a feeling that Timur tried to squeeze something Russian out of each scene and show the world ours. I will also note the cool soundtrack from Danny Elfman.
It is difficult to surprise the modern viewer with something worthwhile, especially in terms of the picture. But "particularly dangerous," no matter how twisted, but still our pride! And despite the fact that for Americans it has become a common of many such films, for us “Especially Dangerous” is pride, joy and hope for a bright future for our cinema, or at least our representatives on the other side of the ocean.
Absolutely deserved, without any degree of patriotism.

The bullet is not stupid, but the bayonet is still good.
Timur Bekmambetov, who became hot with his Watches, in the eyes of overseas producers looked like a god capable of making 70 out of 4 million, at an art house based on an unattractive Russian mentality. For such achievements, Timurka received benefits, in the form of a post of producer, which provided him with freedom of creativity, without regard to the characteristics of the representatives of the genre.
Bekmambetov shoots stylishly. The form in his film dominates the content. You may like or dislike it, but it is more memorable than the story. Nolana and Wachowski are trying to copy everything. Bekmambetov’s style, which has a bit of John Wu, is not subjected to massive copypaste. Bekmambetov’s films stand out from the masses with their non-trivial visuals. "Especially dangerous" in addition, awarded a non-stupid plot.
Maybe the transformation of the aunt into a predator is not an original move, but the fraternity of weavers with a vanguing loom, it's quite unconventional. A shot in the opposite direction and an indecent word from the keyboard keys ... an American clipmaker or advertiser is not capable of this. Bekmambetov twists bullets, cars and train cars so that he does not care about their weak schedule. The crucifixion of physics on a scripted cross contributes to the entertainment, and the coolness of the heroes who are drunk from an overdose of hormones. Best friend fucks your girlfriend, bosses wipe your ass, and new friends promise golden mountains and have deep. Bekmambetov arranges brutal slaughter, in a world without kind people, getting rid of visual clichés and a good part of the script, immature PG-13, love snot, happy endings and Hollywood gloss.
Reading the additional materials, I learn that the original is seriously distorted. The organization of supervillains that destroyed superheroes and traces of their stay, black Fox in a fox costume, and Wesley in a protective flying suit... “Especially dangerous” is one of the standout comic books, but the proximity to the original, the author of “Watchmen”, would have been only a plus.
One thing I know is that now that I am 34, killing my parents on the street would have turned me into a rich playboy rather than a Batman.
For quite a long period of time I did not dare to watch this film, being sure that it, to put it mildly, is much inferior to the magnificent comic book, consisting of a perfect symbiosis of a great plot, juicy characters, rich obsession vocabulary, which helps to convey and maintain the atmosphere of this action, very subtle, but at the same time dark and merciless humor, affecting almost all spheres of human life (social, psychological, political, religious, etc.), elements of drama (although in a satirical form), self-irony, and much more. My expectations (or “surprises”) were fully confirmed, all of the above in the film is not.
“It’s a pity that we lose a part of ourselves, but I just say it as it is and honestly explain what the essence of “Especially dangerous” is. Chicks, cash, cars and the right to do whatever you want. Is there a more tempting incentive to climb into tight leggings? You know, you were tricked. Crimes are profitable. Mark Millar (comic book author).
The universe of the comic book. A world consisting of super-villains, notorious but charismatic villains, bloodthirsty murderers and other criminals of all stripes and categories who wiped out all super-heroes from the face of the Earth and now represent the dominant world power, having even its own governing body with representatives on every residential continent - the Council of Five. Ordinary people have no idea about the real course of things, because after the victory of villains over super heroes, reality was changed with the help of a special device, and people’s memories of these events are erased.
The movie universe. An incomprehensible commonwealth, or even more likely an evening circle of murderers - lovers of unknown origin. The section is based on a weaving factory and orders for killers are received from... TKATSKY STANK, which supposedly performs a prophetic function and represents a kind of universal judge, arbiter of human destinies, Fatummashina and hell knows what else, and the film does not say who entrusted this wonderful aggregate with such functions and powers (the masons’ machinations, apparently).
Characters of the comic book.Wesley Gibson (Killer) - outwardly like Eminem. The most pleasant day in his life is the moment when he killed his father (at his request), thanks to which he inherited a huge fortune, the title of the main killer in the world and the opportunity to rob, kill and rape with impunity, without thinking about the consequences. Professor Solomon Seltzer is a brilliant scientist villain, the owner of the most brilliant mind in the world, who at his leisure likes to invent new tortures and sleep with 18-year-old prostitutes. Fox - a sexy girl - a murderer, not particularly enriched by any moral principles and moral delusions, ready to kill the first person she meets, in principle, as well as give her body to such. The first killer (Wesley's father) - killed for money to fill his hand, for selfish purposes, killed for fun, slept with the most beautiful women, and sometimes with men. Puppeter — a well-bred gentleman, a beautiful family man, an ideal neighbor, a specialized micromechanic, BUT ... can easily order his dolls to cut a person into mince, kill a dozen people or rob a bank. BES — has the power to destroy and create reality, in childhood turned America into a land of marshmallows. Gov ... rye — for its basis used the fecels of 666 of the most evil people in the history of mankind: Hitler, Stalin, Dammer, Chikatilo, etc. Mr. Riktus - a former priest who after a tragic accident experienced clinical death, but waiting to see heaven, found only emptiness, of course, after that he went crazy, and he turned into a bloodthirsty maniac and terrorist, satisfying any whim.
Wesley Gibson (James McAvoy) is a colorless character who is satisfied with everything that happens in his life, whether he is a loser or a tough guy and a murderer, but, despite this, he is still in constant search for unknown things, and is conducted on any information from whom he does not receive it: from his father, from bandits, from an unknown uncle. All friends are enemies, and all enemies are friends. At the same time, being a fierce killer, he is constantly afraid of someone - something and something - something: to get in the eyes of the police, kill someone, harm and even shoot, in the end. Fox (Angelina Jolie) - the only character in the film who is in his place - a sexy girl who is not oppressive in achieving her goals. Sloan (Morgan Freeman), who, as it were — Solomon Seltzer — a kind uncle of the Negro, trying to express unshakable (in his opinion) philosophical truths and beliefs about the essence of life, existence and the universe with monosyllabic sentences. Russian (Konstantin Khabensky) - it is unclear for what at all, the claimed character. Probably, he appears in the film only in order to teach Wesley to attach plastid to rats, and so that Bekmambetov’s friend Konstantin Khabensky will not be left without work for the next couple of months.
Result. It is clear that the director Timur Bekmambetov and the team of screenwriters wanted to turn the already posh work into something more realistic, rational, conveying their “amazing”, “deep-thinking” and “amazing” worldview ... but that’s the problem that this bright motivation, in the end, and resulted in NOTHING, or rather, NOTHING. It seems that at the same time as studying the comic, the children also read a thirty-page brochure for an applicant of the philosophical faculty or, rather, a textbook on social studies from the school curriculum. Hence all these endless attempts at metaphysical knowledge of oneself, existential search and constant striving to make the right fateful choice, a reverent, or rather sacred perception of the world around us, almost in the spirit of the most notorious neo-Thomists, such as Mariten and Berger, and other pseudo-philosophical delusions and conclusions of a sixth-grader, imposed on us by the “merciless killer”. At the same time, the film is saturated with really impressive special effects, such as a twisted trajectory of the bullet (“in the circumference of the wall”), and, again with a large BUT – endless and endless, almost every 7 minutes, repetitions of the same chip. In general, the product is designed for not the most demanding and sophisticated lover of spectacular action.
My assessment (exclusively for the efforts of Jolie, special effects and an attempt to convey my own, though not the most successful, vision of the situation by the authors) -
An ordinary clerk, another follower of a gray, inconspicuous crowd, a chronic loser-mum who has lost all interest in life, suddenly gets a second chance to start life from the beginning, to feel important, to do something that can be remembered with pride. It’s a bit like the “Fight Club,” don’t you think?
Involuntarily involved in the disassembly of gangs, he becomes a member of the team, led by the sinister Morgan Freeman, which calls itself proudly and in Tolkien’s way – the Brotherhood. But not everything is so simple: new friends expose him to numerous tortures (this, as usual, to harden and educate the will to fight), and assure our hero that only he, such a shirt-guy, is able to stop a cruel uncle-killer.
Reassessment of values, bullets, with each shot performing the dance of death in a stylish slow-motion shooting, violent showdowns in a train flying into the abyss, the final in Tarantinovo way - in short, it will not be boring. The almost unexpected ending turns "Especially Dangerous" into a saga about a guy who was taught to take revenge, he takes revenge, and then takes revenge on those who taught him to take revenge. That's it.
Another action movie about the motivation of somnambulism to life and “terrible revenge”, which, unfortunately, or fortunately, does not differ from neighbors in the genre: dynamic, cheerful, with a bonus in the form of Jolie in the eternal role of a fatal beauty-warrior and easy moral background, the brainchild of Bekmambetov does not become a revelation and a fresh breath in the world of action thrillers, but also does not fall below the established bar.
People read the comic book, not the fictions of the director Timurka.
A movie based on Mark Millar's comic book, if that were the case. In fact, everything is so the first 7 minutes go by the comic, with some of its moments and jokes.
As soon as he walks into the store where he meets Fox. I don’t understand why Fox plays Angelina Jolie and not Holly Berry or Rosary Dawson. They fit into the role of Fox.
Actors do not fit at all, Jolie just went out and left, Morgan Freeman also did not care, and there was no role for Freeman there. Khabensky forgot something there is also not clear, in general, I always said that if you can replace the actor in the film, then the point is to watch this film. Any of the actors can safely change nothing will change. And all because Timur is not a director, he only yards of revenge.
I'm not even going to make it sound like it's not in the comic book. I immediately tuned in after the 7th minute that it would be something else. But apart from the cool training, I wasn't shown anything worthwhile.
The comic was filled with pofigism and cruelty, various characters. You can talk about comics for a long time.
I end up with actors who don't fit in, Freeman with a weaver car and Fox, the guy and his dad. Oh, that's interesting.
"Wanted" film Timur Bekmabetov released in 2008 is very specific, there is something original, something annoying, but there are also memorable. In part, the film is similar to "Minority Opinion", but only an idea and nothing more.
Wesley Gibson is a clerk who is immersed in routine, who has little room for joy in life - at work you have to endure constant humiliation, a friend is not faithful, but who every day again and again put up with his fate. And in this seemingly uncharacteristic nature, the genes inherit extraordinary abilities from his father, a member of a fraternity that has protected humanity from threats for centuries, and when the brotherhood is threatened, only Wesley can save him and find his true destiny.
As for the plot, it seems to be very unusual and banal simple, and really great was able to reveal this story with unusual twists and turns, and in general the film is consistent and accurately goes from point a to point b.
Shooting the film is very unusual, improved episodes from Day Watch were visible, which look very impressive. Excellent shootouts and the film is shot very unusual, there are annoying moments of course, and the soundtrack fits the action of the film.
As for the actors, then there was a noble company, consider the main trinity:
James McAvoy is undoubtedly a talented actor who in this film very subtly got used to the role of his hero, but the panic in his performance was really annoying at first, but it was necessary for the character.
Angelina Jol and is one of her favorite actresses. Of course, it looks great in the “combat role”, there was little doubt, and she embodied it as necessary and left a pleasant impression with her game.
Morgan Freeman - from whom, but from him to expect a bad game is never necessary, perhaps not outstanding roles, but he plays them smoothly and clearly, "Especially dangerous" was no exception
If you bring everything under one line, then we have a specific action movie, with an excellent action and not poorly worked out script, and a memorable cast.
When I’m not in the mood for complex, thought-provoking films, I personally turn to the creations of popular culture that this film is. Large box office, high rating of film critics, a lot of positive reviews, a seemingly pleasant evening was ensured. But it wasn't.
Expensive cars, half-naked sexy Jolie, a community of mysterious killers - in short, everything that can attract the average viewer. In principle, I didn't expect more. But the story itself is ridiculous. Professional killers whose orders are given by strings? (March of Destiny).
Okay, so what's next? Almost the whole movie everyone is running around, killing each other with super magic bullets and blah blah blah.
But the most interesting thing in the end, a kind of long-awaited culmination and denouement.
And immersed in the thought of what our “great” director Timur Bekmambetov wanted to convey to me, in my opinion, a logical question arose in my head:" How could such actors as Angelina Jolie, James McAvoy and Morgan Freeman have acted in such a picture?
Presumably because of fees. But how could money have killed art? All right, Angelina Jolie, after she was labeled a “world sex symbol,” there were almost no serious roles. Morgan Freeman, to be honest, disappointed. Normally, all the movies he’s in aren’t art house, but they’re pretty decent, with a few exceptions. Well, James McAvoy probably just lacked popularity, because not everyone watched his outstanding work in “Atonement”, “I dance in my soul” and “The Last King of Scotland”.
So, the movie "Especially dangerous" is a complete fiasco.
"Brotherhood of Weavers" or the first pancake is not always a coma
I wouldn't have shown much interest in this film if I hadn't directed Timur Bekmambetov. I mean, almost a compatriot. Plus, there's a great cast. I don’t remember when, but I saw this movie.
Wesley lives a normal, boring life. Works in the office, suffers humiliation from the boss, meets a girl who cheats on him with his best friend. But one day he learns that his father was murdered last night, and now Wesley becomes his heir in the Brotherhood of Weavers, a secret killer organization. He must learn something completely new, become stronger and faster. Life is starting to change. Time to choose your destiny.
Bekmambetov’s first serious work abroad and in general. I really like his Russian work. He has his own peculiar, distinctive feature, by which I can immediately guess - he shot it. His films are always made differently, more professionally, with a sharp movement, slowly turning to smooth, and then again quickly. He's not the only one doing it, but I like how he does it. But whether he's a producer or a director, it doesn't matter, it's easy to guess that he was involved in making the film. I love this director, I love his work. And this picture simply stands out from the others for its greater significance, the world. As a general manager, there are no comments. With his work as a director, he coped with the masters, in truth. Respect and a low bow for the work done.
The cast is incredibly impressive. Actors with world names. First of all, of course Morgan Freeman It doesn’t appear in bad movies, and that may be one reason to watch. On account of this actor dozens of films of different genres, in each of which, he discovers something new and shows himself from the best side. The role of head of the Brotherhood suited him very well. He embodies the real leader. So calm and static, inspiring confidence. Great actor always and everywhere.
I really liked the heroine of Angelina Jolie, although she looked like a drug addict with ten years of experience. For all my dislike of this actress, I literally fell in love with her tattoos. In this movie, she seems to show off all her tattoos. It looks pretty cool, despite its face. Nor does it upset her play. Fighting, really strong woman - very beautiful and interesting. Here and really worked for fame, although her face was incredibly calm, as if she did not care about everything.
James McAvoy is not a bad actor. However, there is always too little emotion on his face. Empty and not much changing facial expression. On the other hand, this time he didn’t need a lot of emotion. That was the character. But whatever face he had, he did it brilliantly. And I only realized yesterday that it was voiced by Sergey Bezrukov. Since the time of the Brigade, we have always seen him in his usual role with the words “Eh, Mother Rus”. Such a persistent, brisk, bright and memorable voice. Surprise and delight.
Timur Bekmambetov is very fond of inviting Konstantin Khabensky to his paintings, because he took part in almost every of his films. Well, first of all, Khabensky is a good actor and it was nice to see his people in such a big picture. I was really excited about the vodka moment. It’s not funny or embarrassing, as it usually is. His role is small but memorable.
I absolutely don't like action movies. I don't take them seriously. I am embarrassed by the abundance of all sorts of action scenes. Nothing interesting, no story. In the same picture, I liked the idea with weavers, the plot and the script. In general, there are plenty of fighting scenes in the film, but they do not strain at all, and even vice versa. Interesting. I really enjoyed Wesley's training. And also, with all the components of a typical action movie, they did not forget just any, but a thought. The main character, after all his suffering and suffering, embarks on a terrible and difficult path. He must choose his destiny. How do you choose how to live after what you learn? The world is evil and cruel, and the people in it are mean and lying. So complicated and serious, interesting and meaningful.
I really, really liked the music. I don't remember the artists, but the songs "Every day is exactly the same" and "Little Things" are just amazing. They seem so similar, but at the same time incredibly different. Sad and strong, brisk and brave. Great combination. I also liked the final song, “Dangerous but Free.” Very good! This is a good ending for a good start.
Especially Dangerous is a great example of an action movie. Not just fights and murders, but at least some kind of presence. Everything is sustained, on one wave + a very successful duration for such films. Brilliant actors, directorial and camera work at a height, brilliant music and history. It’s a great movie to watch tonight. But still, militants will never become something more to me, and will remain militants.

"The soul is like a gun."
On the edge, on the edge...
Unfortunately, "Especially Dangerous" is a film that is not only poorly filmed, but, to put it mildly, morally dubious. Human life in this film is not represented by anything serious. All the characters are ready to kill, ready to frame a friend. Both the members of the Brotherhood and those who came to their senses left it. And everyone thinks he's the coolest. Characters divide people into “sheep” and “wolves,” and this is as disgusting as the division into “creatures of trembling” and “rights of having.” There’s not a single character in the film that really elicits sympathy, in fact it’s a bunch of moral freaks who have been given the power to commit crimes without getting punished for it. They were once human, maybe. Now they are animals, and simple people are animals for them. And alas, in the film it is presented as if there is nothing wrong with it.
After watching the movie “Especially Dangerous”, the Western audience will definitely be associated with vodka. And not because in this film there is a Russian who awakens the main character from the “rest room” with a vodka. Just such a film, made by a Russian director (I don’t know, it’s Russian in fact, but for the Western audience Bekmambetov is unlikely to be non-Russian), could be shot only on a drunken head.
The film was directed by the great Beckmambets. On such an occasion, it was duplicated in Russia not by some Valery Storozhik, Vsevolod Kuznetsov, Sergey Burunov, Alexei Ryazantsev ... No, it was duplicated by the great Sergey Bezrukov, Gosha Kutsenko, Galina Tyunina (it was necessary to think about putting her to duplicate Jolie), Anatoly Maksimov (it is absolutely impossible for him to duplicate Freeman, well, no way). In our dubbing, policemen began to be called cops (well, they actually began to be called that now)..In general, the pathos of Bezrukov is a horror, I do not know what was there in the original, but I have no doubt that everything is not so there.
Unfortunately, the actors are not very good. Angelina Jolie... They show her wet back too intrusively, such scenes are generally annoying. Morgan Freeman looks really good. But that's only because he's a great actor who has played key roles in three Oscar-winning films. And a lot of roles that are not appreciated. And the main character, Wesley Gibson, played by James McAvoy (and Dmitry Dyuzhev was remembered, it is more than doubtful that McAvoy would play this way with someone else), plays not just a burdock of the XXI century, but a Russian burdock of the XXI century. Or, if you like, burdock of the XXI century in Russian. One way or another, this image in the cinema has long eaten all the weaver in Russian films. If I want to see a movie about a man who's fed up with this type of life, I'd rather watch Fight Club. There is no desire to revise “Especially Dangerous” – the face of the boss Wesley, occupying half a screen and screaming at a reduced frequency, discourages the whole desire to watch at least the first part of the film. By the way, why does he call her anorexic? Is that a joke? Or not knowing what anorexia is? If a joke, then its author is quite a fat troll.
More scenes of thick trolling, which do not need to be explained:
1. - Is that vodka? Yes. - Are you Russian? - Yes.
2. Have you ever thought about living like normal people? - No.
3. - You're a man... (keyboard on the face)
4. - Screw the code! It's not about laws, it's about instructions!
“Kill one and perhaps save a thousand” is the motto of the Brotherhood of Wesley Gibson. The fact that he fell for all this after the story Fox told him began to kill - to God, he is not a fool, not naive. He's just a bad person who doesn't want to be human, but God. You see, it turns out he thought he was a loser all his life, and he's actually Luke Skywalker. But all his physical and mental abilities, which he has learned after being punched twenty times, do not make him God. And generally speaking, it's the protagonist. “I must avenge my father!” Implausible. Unnatural.
Unfortunately, all those who have mastered mental abilities in this film consider themselves gods. That the Brotherhood that got out of it doesn't value human life. They left, but the motto remained. Why? Because all the dead are still trembling creatures, lice, and they are Napoleons. Or rather, they are wolves, and all the other sheep.
It is finally clear that there is nothing worthwhile and holistic in the film when Wesley Gibson begins in the final ultra-pathetic shouting his monologue "I get rid of shitty friends ..." I take control of my destiny, my life! You took control of your conscience so that it wouldn’t torture you for anything – that’s all. No amount of mental ability can help you if you are on the cross. And the Brotherhood you have not got rid of, Wesley, it has already enslaved your brain.
"Extremely dangerous" is just a bad movie. A typical Russian film of the Putin era, only shot in an American studio. It has no moral value, no suspense, only a bunch of special effects, but much less quality than in a bunch of previously made films, such as “The Matrix”, from which they are copied. I recommend spending two hours on something more interesting.
A hardened loser and weakling, both physically and morally, is Wesley Gibson, who works as an ordinary clerk, has a girlfriend, although it is more accurate to say that his friend has her, and he only lives with her, did not know about the existence of the powerful Brotherhood of Weavers. The community formed this Brotherhood centuries ago to punish anyone who disturbs the balance of the world. Members of the fraternity appeared in Wesley's life with the news of his father's murder. Only a son can avenge him. Since then, Gibson’s life has changed dramatically.
The director of this Hollywood film was Timur Bekmambetov. The script of the film is written on the basis of a series of comics, which explains the superpowers of the characters and the style of plot construction.
Wesley Gibson stars as James McAvoy. The loser, who became superman, thanks to special methods of psychological influence known to members of the Brotherhood - many such characters are known and here is the next and far from the best. I was not impressed by the character or the actor who played him.
The role of Fox mentor was played by Angelina Jolie. The very name of the heroine suggests that she should hardly be trusted, but, nevertheless, she revealed in the hero those abilities that he did not suspect. Looking at Angelina, I could not restrain the involuntary sadness that such roles are no longer for her.
The head of the Sloan Brotherhood was played by Morgan Freeman. Not the best role, but worked professionally. Perhaps the film itself is not his level.
Also seen in the film Konstantin Khabensky in a small role of Russian, and, not without a bottle of vodka in his hands. What else did he remember: he died beautifully.
What good can I say about this film? Perhaps we should be happy for the success of Timur Bekmambetov? There's nothing to be happy about. The film is filled with standard Hollywood stamps, and the slow spans of bullets, known even from the “Matrix”, and even more colliding in flight, are quite annoying. At the beginning of the film, the actors frankly hack and overplay. What is worth only the boss of the main character? The soundtrack was not impressed, even the main song was not remembered, unlike the same “Watch”.
So, I will not recommend this movie to watch in order to save your precious time.

Bryon Gaisin has a fairy tale for all occasions: a few trillion years ago, a sloppy, dirty giant was shaking fat off his fingers. One of these drops of fat is our universe on its way to the floor.
Fuck this boring reality. Yeah, you are. Wesley Gibson, who soon will have an exciting adventure, mind-blowing shootouts and chases, as well as a new love of his life, which vaguely resembles Lisa Rowe and her interrupted life. You're not another mediocre, are you? I thought so. And how else? Get away from your idiot best friend and your own girlfriend, who has been cheating on you for so long with the aforementioned spirit mate. Let go of the low-paying, humiliating 9- to 6-year-old job, the stupid co-workers and the fat boss who didn’t value you so much in a previous, already unreal life. However, as well as the fact that you are just another heroic rag with ether, designed to fill the dusty summer evenings and cinema halls that stink of popcorn, as well as the thoughts of people who wished to get even a slight semblance of oblivion while contemplating your banal, poorly told story.
And you can not even pay much attention to the fact that everything that is happening is one big farce under the leadership of Timur Bekmambetov, although his plot framework, perhaps, should be disassembled into components. So, you are a hired killer and have been serving a mysterious/influential/ancient order for some time, which has its own small fate machine hidden in the back, which simultaneously builds itself as the grandfather of rock and the world equation. If the machine indicates that the bad uncle over there needs to be killed, then nothing can be done about it. We have to go and kill. And it is advisable to do this on the roof of the train, having time to shoot a bullet along an unthinkable trajectory in a few moments. You will also humbly be waiting for intrigue with your deceased father, who worked for the same above-mentioned order of weavers-levellers, intrigue with an employer, vaguely similar to a once good actor and, of course, intrigue with a pathetic commercial likeness of Lisa Rowe. Seems to forget nothing, along the way managed to avoid mentioning the main plot twists on this rusty American-Russian roller coaster?
And, in general, it is not surprising the very fact of the appearance of such a kin, which, like a butterfly, exists only one day on the constantly updated canvas of entertainment cinema. You probably won’t deny that such films are really necessary for everyone and everything. Banal, but bright fairy tales and their amazing ability to bring money from the beloved couples, tired onlookers, idle critics and your loyal followers who are ready to buy tickets for the sake of an hour and a half transformation into an iron machine that flew from space or a brave hero with a detachment of loyal soldiers or a hired killer that runs many times over the blade of a typical plot with a mandatory (or partial) happy ending. All these are absolutely normal, natural currents that have entangled cinema since the days of Keaton and Chaplin. That's just, if on your way there is another faceless sedimentary that managed to absorb a primitive, lame plot, tired, but extremely famous actors, sagging narrative and pathetic hints of an even more terrible continuation, then involuntarily a comparison with a dirty lollipop arises; the candy that was picked up from the floor was carefully wiped, provided with motley advertising and false promises about its beautiful taste and, after looking at the reaction of the buyer, still decided to say that the product is of quality. Well, if not... They'll eat anyway.
Do I want to act on my life? To have influence?
Not really.
V. Rozanov.
Let’s start with the fact that we have a film diagnosis. A vague prophecy about the general unhappiness of the world. He's really about to go. In it - almost everything we fear, all forms and varieties of our fears - from ancient (death, unexplained, evil forces ...) to super-actual.
Fear of what lies outside the familiar, once and for all delineated circle of our daily existence.
Fear of rebellion, rebellion, revolution.
Fear of power (own and foreign).
Fear of breaking the rules.
Fear of civilization, dependence on technology (computer).
Fear of the office and generally closed and fenced spaces.
Fear of becoming a clerk (slave), a faceless part of the mass (plankton).
Fear of imitation (simulation) of the present.
Fear of everything puppet, celluloid - world, person, relationships.
Fear of failure, social underdevelopment, poverty.
Fear of the future.
The fear of advertising, deprived of choice.
Fear of self-determination.
Fear of globalization, which to some resembles depersonalizing totalitarianism.
Fear of unfreedom, total surveillance, control, manipulation of consciousness.
Fear of physical and moral violence.
Fear of the loss of the criteria of good and evil and coming from all sides (whether or not).
So did the Beckmambets get hit? Gotcha. To someone directly, to someone not directly flying bullet. The topical phobias visualized by him provided the film with the success that can not be explained only by branded attractions, style and professionalism of the picture, the beautiful faces of Jolie and McAvoy, the indisputable authority of the black lord Freeman and a lot of money in addition (yes... those who love buckwheat porridge and shiv, there is nothing to do at this feast). There. These fears ensured the film that in modern cinema, and in general in art, the rarity of the film and (frightening to write this word) their truthfulness. They're not boring. And they do.
Who among us does not feel a lack of oxygen? Who among us does not suffocate (at work)? Who doesn’t dream of an oxygen overdose? About the ability to breathe freely, being yourself, and not part of the system, plankton, office?
Who doesn’t want to stop consuming and start choosing (because free choice and civilized consumerism have long been separated)? Get out of a dead paradise where everything is not made up and decided by you? To change the comfortable Artificial-Kikeev paradise, where “warmth and damp”, the sun, light, air and the dangerous, perhaps even fatal paradise of the “madness of the brave” – paradise to be yourself?
This question is "why?" It is also very well selected and set. In time.
Who are you: a clerk, a yuppie, a manager, a cog of a corporation, an ordinary employee of the client department, part of a computer desk whose hands are fused with a keyboard and, dutifully knocking on it, waiting for a diagnosis of tunnel syndrome of the wrist?
Or the terrorist, Robin Hood, reformer, killer, master of fate?
Or maybe it’s just a matter of time?
Yeah... Hamlets are harder today. Before you get into the trap of bior notes to tu bi, you have to climb into an even closer one - "Who are you?"
In addition, it is common to kill good fathers, not evil uncles. While “a still person, a black person counts people in silence” and chooses to be or not to be... and who to be (seriously, read Block’s Factory again – much of the film will become clearer).
However, on topics and “cursed questions” is enough.
Let's talk about goals and over-tasks. Why be (live that is)? And how?
McAvoy's hero has few goals set by faceless millions. What does he want? To become famous, to become rich, to achieve success, to build a career? Being like a man (I'm a man, oh!)? Social justice, perhaps? Universal? Where are all these vital energy, the “madness of the brave”, enthusiasm, determination raised (or trained) by weavers directed?
The desire is to find yourself. Be yourself. Be! And believe in your path, in the threads of fate, in the accuracy of the bullet’s flight.
The brightest prospect. The best conclusion. The one who used to only mope, drink pills, half-lived - half-slept, dreary envied the "male power" of the "best" friend and complained to himself about his own worthlessness, acquired a goal, and desires, and targets, and even magic bullets.
Just for who/what? For the machine? For your own sake?
He's alone. He doesn't like anyone. Maybe just the father he didn't know and killed. It's scary.
The hero, who made the o-o-very painful path (glory wax) from subhuman to superhuman, somehow skipped the stage of man.
And personally, my longing for the man in the cinema, for the spiritual man who is looking for the oxygen of Truth, not personal Freedom, after watching "Especially Dangerous" only intensified. I really don’t want art to miss a person forever – that’s what!
And if there are no lyrical retreats, what is the final? Is he as alert as he looks? There is justice in the world, but it is controlled by a lonely and loving no one person, a soullessly fair machine (loom) and a cunning bullet that prefers curved paths, but always hits the goal.
This control is pure office (hello to freedom, correcting sin with sin).
And lastly. I remembered our “ostrosocial” XIX century, which art dubbed “the era of lackeys”, reptilian officials, silent and similar to them.
How to name our film - the XXI-th?
"Especially dangerous" Timur Bekmambetov ... mm ... dynamics, style, juiciness. I'm sure everyone saw that movie. Or almost everything.
For spent 75 million, of course not white. rubles, the picture collected in the world 367 821 842 million. It's a success! The operator and editor created just great shots, the perfect combination of music and picture and, of course, thoughtful to the smallest detail use of combined, macro and slow motion.
Everything is in its place. A big minus is a bit of a not-real idea. There are some weavers, adult uncles and aunts who for some reason are killing people. Bullets gathering back, ignoring friction. I think it's strained. But! Exciting.
There is no doubt about Danny Elfman’s music. He received 3 Oscars for music for box office films. James McAvoy duplicates. Sergei Bezrukov. And these intimate conversations with yourself.
And let all those who in 2008 wrote greasy reviews with a sense: “What the hell is this such a thing?” The numbers speak for themselves. Does anyone here know how to turn 75 lemons into 350 ponytails? So it is.
I started watching the movie because of James McAvoy. Well, I wasn't disappointed. I believed almost all of his actions and emotions (there were a couple of moments, but I mean the big picture). The truth was terribly tense voice Bezrukov. It was clearly a losing move.
When I saw Angelina Jolie and Morgan Freeman in the film, I actually drooled.
Overall and overall, the story is good. The idea of turning a weak and weak Wesley into such a superhero would be good and more like it. The idea of the Brotherhood of Weavers brought its highlight.
Seeing Khabensky was very surprised. Even interrupted the viewing and went to watch the cast. The eyes were all right, and I also learned that the director Timur Bekmambetov. I was very surprised, but why does it have to affect the impression of the film (as in most reviews)?
In addition to Bezrukov, I will add another minus - a crumpled end. Final assessment
I saw that movie. Sitting in front of the TV and armed with a plate of chips and other attributes of a free evening, I did not expect something epic: I already snorted full of what Timur Bekmambetov likes to shoot. So by including "Especially Dangerous," I expected only to fill the cultural gap. About this militant quite a lot shouted in advertising, and a strong set of stars also causes considerable interest. I thought Angelina Jolie and Morgan Freeman wouldn’t do anything. Oh, I was wrong.
But let’s move on to the film.
It’s hard to resist the analysis of individual episodes, but I’ll try.
In general, the plot is quite simple, there are no secrets, all the protagonists and villains are clear from the beginning, there is only one turn. Nothing complicated. And not the genre for complexity. In particular, everything is not so rosy: on closer analysis it is clear that in the plot solid clichés and other clichés chase. And these techniques are so worn out in mass cinema that I am surprised that in this film the hole did not appear.
Heroes. The only one that's ever been revealed is Wesley. But he's the star of this movie, he needs to be revealed, but here's his entourage. Fox is an obscure but very cool woman in tattoos. Who is she, what moves her, how does she relate to the world and events in it? The same questions apply to the other characters. Who are they? There are only names and cruelty of behavior of different calibers, everything.
Staging. Bekmambetovism. Where does Timur have such an unhealthy love for slow-mo shots I can only guess, but why slow down almost every shooting and stunt scene? I think someone has seen the Matrix...
Besides the questionable action scenes, there are some incredible tricks. About shooting with a curved trajectory, I will not say, it is a quiet horror. Special effects are decent, but they give cheapness and there are too many of them to be invisible. The abundance of moving chambers during deceleration is tiring.
And a pack of rhetorical questions in the air: Does the Guild listen to the machine? Shooting for a good heel of kilometers with multi-stage bullets? To cure serious injuries in two hours by bathing in the bathroom?
It's a pretty good joint with voiceover. Not that bad. Sergey Bezrukov worked well, but the rest of the voices fit very poorly and there was a feeling of woodenness.
Finally, I want to say: This movie is not for serious perception. I wanted to watch a good action movie, and I got a second-rate thrash. He tried to save famous actors, but this was not enough. I recommend watching only in the company of loyal friends and drunk, otherwise there is a risk of turning off the film in the middle and shouting at the ceiling: “What did I just see?” I want to see it!!!
Especially dangerous.
Let’s just come to terms with the fact that absurd movies still have to exist. These are the films that do not care about the laws of physics, moral norms and even the rudiments of common sense. A similar list is contained in the film “Very dangerous”.
But (!) for all its pretentious unnaturalness, the film did not cause acute indignation and gag reflex.
For example, a loom that gives out the names of those who should be killed (just think about these words!) is too much. Also, I was struck by the fact that almost all the characters easily decipher binary code. But, in fact, the idea of a brotherhood-killers is not new. In addition, there are a couple of beaten clichés (close interrelationship of Russians and vodka, “sneaky” deception of good killers, as well as references to “Star Warriors”).
Nevertheless, the acting is delightful. The main character - Wesley (James McCavoy) - just a benchmark loser. Emotions, facial expressions, actions, even close-up saliva - everything looked mind-blowing.
Angelina, as you would expect, painted grayness with her modest persona, and surprised with car addictions. Frankly speaking, pride in the Russian automotive industry seized for a moment.
Educativeness is limping, except that the picture may lead unsuccessful clerks to the idea that they will one day be lucky to get even for all their humiliations, but I think this is not significant.
To watch the bullets flying elegantly in a circular orbit, which now and then crash into each other is a delight of the eyes. And although it is perfectly clear that this nonsense will not happen on our planet under any conditions, still strongly scold the authors do not want. It was beautiful.
So, fantastic not to expect, watch only and exclusively for rest of the brain.
