True love has a real smell. How long I have not watched such films – kind, bright, where no one kills anyone, and all the tension is concentrated in the ignorance of whether one team will win the competition or not!
This movie is really wonderful. Every year, there are a lot of them, but we see them. Smile at the main characters and wait for the kiss. And here it is also seasoned with an interesting look at the life of confectioners from the inside. In general, the film was very sweet and romantic.
Plot
The film tells us how the fates of two wonderful confectioners intertwined. Both of them are in a difficult situation - and the way out is the opportunity to win the contest "Golden crown", the prize in which is a fairly large amount of money. Predictably, the main characters first experience a strong dislike for each other, which is then replaced by a real feeling. All this happens against the background of the competition, the preparation of desserts - and it all looks so tasty that it is difficult to refrain from going to the nearest pastry store. And even though you know that everything should end well, you still worry whether they will win or not? Will they be able to handle all the tricks? So the atmosphere here is well maintained.
Actors
Costas Mandilore. Playing the role of Marco Polo. No, not the pastry chef. And here Costas is beautiful. To such a pastry chef, I feel, would be lined up. I really liked how different Mandilore looks here. Then his hero is nervous and worried, then with fury lashes out at the opponent. And sometimes he is involved in romantic scenes – and also very convincingly. In general, he has a bright role here, and he is just wonderful in it.
Lauren Holly played Marco's partner, Grace. And I really liked her here, too. She perfectly conveyed the image of her heroine - these transitions from dislike to interest, and the passion with which Grace relates to her occupation. Lauren played a great job.
Dory Barton She played Candy. And she really managed to cause dislike for her heroine at times, which is a big plus. After all, good heroes should have a background, “villains”, with whom they will fight. But negative roles don’t have to be grotesque, we have to understand and sometimes even empathize with them. And Laurie managed to convey it all.
Andrew Lauer But his hero, Jacques, was really unpleasant, without any halftones. Andrew showed this hero very well. It is only a pity that he came out exactly as a “villain”, whom he does not want to empathize with at all.
All the actors are good, so I won’t single out anyone else, everyone is in their seats and looks great. Will I pay attention to Bruce Thomas, who played the role of Grace’s fiancé, Jim, and David Proval, who played Marco’s uncle, Fabrizio. They had bright and memorable heroes.
Again, I liked the film very much. He is bright, kind, wonderfully lifts the mood and tunes in a positive way. If you need good emotions - then safely include this picture and enjoy.
