Kind, funny, dynamic, bright and colorful... absolutely not logical, but forcing empathy. The film is like an easy rechargeable adventure. Better on the big screen.
Even the presence of Dwayne Johnson does not save the second Journey. There's a lot of writers putting together. Jules Verne doesn't smell like Robert Stevenson. In an attempt to catch up with success, the film takes the baton "Put the old tale in a new way" and tries to submit the plots of familiar works under a completely new and very unpleasant sauce.
A bright picture, a mysterious island, a very unreliable adventure and absolutely flat characters whose dialogue and actions are so predictable that even children will not be surprised. “Journey 2” is a typical movie attraction, which in 3D format is as spectacular as Cameron’s “Avatar”. That's only in "Avatar" the plot was whole, it guessed a certain thought, while here ... well, travel, well, teenage love, well dwarf elephants, well, the volcano erupts ... The narrative is so lost in the fountain of special effects that after the finale, the viewer will sit for a long time with glazed eyes, trying to somehow analyze what he saw. And meanwhile, if you remove the bright colors and look purely at the plot, what remains?
And there will be a long-worn story about a strictly father, and a negligent daughter who tries to go against him, but in an environment of great danger all the offenses are forgotten, the characters come to each other’s rescue and... well, you understand. Nothing unexpected, nothing new. It spoils the impression of a toilet humor, which, although a little, but still it was brought here. For some reason. The fact that the audience in the cinema often sit down with popcorn, the director probably forgot. And he forgot that Godzilla mentioned by the characters is an archosaur, not a lizard! For such a mistake, my personal minus, which nothing here can compensate.
A movie for the most, the most single viewing, after which your indifference will tell you: you should not review it. Especially since there is a pretty good first part in which there was a clear plot. For a while, there was talk of a third part where we could see a trip to the moon. Since it has been a long time, we will hardly see it. The second trip was enough. Uninteresting, very uninteresting film.
I’ve always loved Dwayne Johnson’s films, but it left a mixed picture. . .
The plot revolves around the fact that the young guy loves the novels of Jules Verne, as well as his grandfather, who has not been in touch with his family for a long time. One day, a guy receives a zip coded letter from his grandfather, and his stepfather helps decipher what was written, and together they go in search of a mysterious island.
It would be fine, but...
First, who in his right mind would agree to go with his son to a rather dubious island for thirty lands?
Secondly, who is willing to spend such an incredible amount of money on this journey and where do the heroes come from?
Third, how could Hank's wife let them go there? It’s not an hour or two away. And an argument of the type: to establish a relationship is not an argument!
The logic is broken here, you look at it and you think, 'What nonsense is this possible?' And the point here is not that the events themselves are of a kind of fiction, here the matter is in the plot and its harmony. If the director had shown the characters better, spent more screen time to reveal Hank and Sean before the trip, perhaps this feeling would not have been.
In general, it is a good adventure movie, it can be seen by the whole family once. The joke is enough, the effects are also at the level, but you hardly want to watch it a second time. Impressions from watching the film are mixed, with the participation of Dwayne Johnson there are films much more successful, without such logical punctures in the plot.
5 out of 10
I liked the sequel as well as the first part of https://my-hit.org/film/4774/, here the graphics are much better, sometimes you need to watch fairy tales and adults, that would be kinder. . . 10 out of 10. P.S. In August 2014, it was announced that Cary Hayes and Chad Hayes were writing a third film. In November 2015, it was announced that Brad Peyton would return as director and Dwayne Johnson as Hank Parsons. Later it became known that there will be two sequels, not one. The truth is still there. . .
I did not immediately find out that this is a continuation of Journey to the Center of the Earth with Brendan Fraser, although the works of Jules Verne should have been alerted. Adventures delight, such films cause excitement and intrigue from the veil of mystery. The sequel replaced the main character: because of problems with Fraser, the post of mentor took Rock Johnson. The director skillfully attributed the problems of fathers and children, family difficulties and upbringing. Familiarity is not so acceptable, since we already know the character of Josh Hutcherson, so a few minutes to hang the labels took, and then ciphers, maps and puzzles.
Beautiful and interesting. The mystery is breathtaking from the ongoing episodes, and Dwayne Johnson does not just flex his muscles, but shows interest. Although template, but the film specifically brings the characters to the island. “Jumanji”, “Children of Spies 2” “Nim Island”, “Peter Pan” – a lot of stories, where there is an island with magical things, so interest was made on the adventure novels of both Jules Verne and Robert Lewis Stevenson, which is perfectly combined in the plot of the picture.
The movie, of course, is sagging. Rapid actions do not give logical explanations, but timekeeping should go to the island to a greater extent, so we accept what we have. Johnson is on the island – as we’ve seen in 2017 – only Mysterious Island is focusing on exploration. Some of the details are one-in-one with the aforementioned Spie Kids 2, but the clichéd aspect of the Rock character makes him a comedic character. The plot of Verne’s works goes well, thereby avoiding illogical questions. A sudden encounter with an obvious hero gives new jokes and sets a fatherly tone. Something in the picture is definitely catchy: it is a reference to adventure tapes, and classical literature and awareness of their position on the island. Unfortunately, very little time is devoted to revealing certain qualities of the characters. A banal reception with a female character, acquaintance with which already lays the final notes of the narrative. Something is missing, despite the chewing of fantastic stories by Michael Caine.
The hype pushes the turn when danger approaches. Here is the adventure spirit that races against time (as always it is less than the characters thought), but we are given a tour of Jules Verne’s literature and again impress with incommensurable objects. I remember the statues from Lost. Well, the desired effect reached my heart, which is why the final action can forgive the absurdities of the picture. To say that the change of caste was good? Nope. There are a lot of similar movies right now: good and bad. Rock Johnson is funny, does not strain, can play comedy (only often flirts), Josh Hutcherson is no longer a little boy, but his bridge to Terabithia can still build, Vanessa Ann Hudgens is a female character who collected all aspects of this image: romance and sexuality, Michael Kane is the most important and experienced sage (similar images are full of cinema), and Louis Guzman is a comedic slob who performs his role well.
If you want to feel the rush of adventure and catch unexpected turns, then the picture is aimed at you. Secret map, deduction, paraphernalia of classical literature and conflict of characters give a great journey to a mysterious island.
Before us is definitely the continuation of the glorious Hollywood tradition of family adventure cinema, which at the dawn of the nineties restarted the famous admirer of family traditions Steven Spielberg. His Jurassic Park (1993), as well as Jumanji and the incredibly successful remake of The Mummy with Brandon Fraser, made the nineties truly magical for lovers to sit in a cozy family nest of couples with children. Nevertheless, over time, all the good comes to naught, so by the end of the last decade finally came to naught and a similar system, which was decimated by the same citizen Fraser with the third part of “The Mummy” and, admittedly, a frankly unsuccessful picture, in which few people believed – we are talking, of course, about the first part of “Journey”, shot in 2008.
But don’t be afraid – you’ll see one of the most impressive rebranded stories! The inclusion in the project of rising star Dwayne Johnson, veteran Michael Caine, as well as the return of already gained some weight in the industry in connection with the nascent at the time of the franchise “Hunger Games” Josh Hutcherson definitely convinced the producers, who did not stint on the effects. Yes, it's a picture of the effect, a picture of one view that holds a picture. The plot, in general, is not very impressive, the actors did not need to look for a “grain role” here, the main engine that lights the audience’s hearts is drive and charm. Both components worked, as they say, hurrah. To predict that there, behind the turn, it is absolutely impossible - all the better! At the same time, there is no aplomb, the “look how I still can” effect that destroys the magic of adventure cinema. This is perhaps another of the main advantages of the picture. The fusion of two genres, fiction and adventure, action, as we now call it, no one will call unexpected, but here he really gives birth to his own magic.
Well, hold hands, friends, and as soon as you decide to gather the whole family in front of the screen, feel free to play Journey 2: Mysterious Island!
Released in 2008, the sci-fi adventure film “Journey to the Center of the Earth”, based on the book by Jules Verne himself, collected more than 240 million dollars at the global box office with an investment of 60. With all confidence, this can be called a commercial success, so the creation of the sequel, judging by the latest trends in Hollywood, a case that was soon to be released on the screen. And after 4 years, the viewer could, thanks to the production of the New Line Cinema studio, see the continuation of the story, in the plot plan associated with the family of adventurers and adventurers by the name of Anderson. In the second part, they have already invested almost 20 million more than their predecessor, and as a result, the sequel brought the same stable fees 4 times more than it was invested. So it is not surprising that announced already about the creation of two parts of the adventure epic.
With the creation of Mysterious Island, there were big changes in the filming and acting environment. First, the original director Eric Brewig was replaced by Brad Peyton. Just like Brevig Peyton didn’t have the necessary experience, so the producers took a risk by appointing a debutant, but in this case the risk is twofold – could Peyton be a new talent? Going ahead, grandiosity did not happen, but the director did not fail the tape. All the screenwriters have changed – the brothers Brian and Mark Gunn have already adapted the fictional story with a transfer to our time layer from Richard Outten, which in turn was based on the wonderful book by Jules Verne, which was called “Mysterious Island”. Among the actors from the first part, only Josh Hutcherson remained, but we can say that Brendan Fraser was replaced by Dwayne Johnson. And also joined the ensemble Luis Guzman, Vanessa Anne Hudgens and Michael Kane himself.
So, if in the first part, the Andersons went through a volcano in Iceland to the very core of our planet, this time Sean (Hutcherson) and his stepfather Hank (Johnson) went in search of a mysterious island, hints of the existence of which they found from the notes of Sean’s grandfather – Alexander Anderson (Kane). But to get to the island, which is not marked on any map, the searchers had to hire a helicopter pilot (Gusman) and his daughter (Hugens). And now the whole company will have to enjoy not only the beautiful appearance of the amazing island, but also then to escape from the inevitable catastrophe. During this time, Hank will find common ground with both Andersons, the youngest of whom will fall in love with the pilot's daughter. And we, as spectators, if we are in a sufficiently relaxed state, we will get visual pleasure from special effects. And even though they will be too fabulous and will not be so much focused on action, but even flying on bees is a perfect view for the whole picture “Journey 2: The Mysterious Island”.
As for the actors, it is worth starting, perhaps, with Dwayne Johnson, who, by the way, like Hutcherson, is already assigned to the third part of “Travels”. Johnson had the most difficult task - he had to quietly replace Brendan Fraser, who played the main character in the first part. And we can conclude that he succeeded, and the image of his stepfather Sean came out convincing. Depth of feelings such a film as “Mysterious Island” does not require, but the philosophy of family relations looked good in his performance. It was noticeable that Josh Hutcherson had already grown up, became more masculine on the screen, and it helped him still feel comfortable in the sequel. I really liked Luis Guzman, the hero-actor of the episode, who this time had much more screen time than it happens in other films. And Gusman vividly portrayed a loving father under a comedic angle. Vanessa Ann Hudgens also harmoniously fit into the cast. Well, Michael Kane in each of his films plays fully, and here in "Journey 2" he also did it, and his nagging about Hank's character constantly defused the situation, making it more diverse.
Personally, as for me, the “Mysterious Island” is no worse than its predecessor, one thing only confuses – you already know what spectacle awaits you and in what style it will be filmed. But the tempting genre of adventure and a well-coordinated cast completely covers this drawback.

Where did two and three go? Yes! Where are two and three? Two, three...
A good family movie, perfect for watching with children. A high-quality and unburdened sequel to Journey to the Center of the Earth, which we saw in 2008. The dearest kind scientist Brendan Fraser is replaced here by a stone Dwayne Johnson. Although he is very friendly with white teeth and often jokes, he is, of course, more suited to the roles of conquerors, Hercules and butchers, because the T-shirt on him and look cracked on the fibers. But his song in the jungle on the Hawaiian motif and various jokes pleased me.
The film, based on the novel by Jules Verne “Mysterious Island” cannot but leave a warm mark, not cause a smile and pleasant childhood joy. Here you do not pay attention (or try not to pay) to the lack of docking, errors and impossibility, of which there are plenty. In this movie, you close your eyes to adults and open your eyes as a child, and just have fun and sigh when you see the wonder island, beautiful landscapes and ancient buildings, huge ants, and tiny elephants, a golden volcano and good humor. There is a standard set of characters: a nervous fool (a little overplay), a wise but slightly crazy old researcher, a rocky man who will save everyone and, of course, a couple of unevenly breathing teenagers. Plus adventure in a beautiful and unusual area, which was made possible thanks to the passion for books. All in one bright bottle.
And even if the heroes could die many times (no one would have survived the storm, or running from a lizard, or flying on bees, Kailani would have broken her spine so many times), and they would hardly have found the island so easily and been able to get out of it alive. But, hand on heart, we watch such adventure light films not for criticism or analysis of acting, but to return to childhood and feel the magic.
To be honest? This film, like the previous one, is amazing!
Watching it again, I take my breath! This mysterious island, so extraordinary. Such small elephants, and such big bees! This volcano has gold instead of ashes, Captain Nemo's Nautilus, the tomb of Captain Nemo. It’s so exciting that you can’t even get distracted!
The heroes of this film themselves are charismatic, cheerful on them is very pleasant to watch, as well as their acting.
The music is magical, I get carried away listening to it, forgetting about reality.
Some of the moments from the first movie are masked, and that’s really exciting. You do not forget about the first film, but on the contrary, you remember with a smile on your face.
I’m sure I’ll watch this movie again.
I’ll be brief, because you won’t write much on exemplary films. To say that the movie is great is to say nothing. This is not a story about the struggle between good and evil – there is no evil at all. True, there will be creatures who will attack the main characters, but there will be no one fierce battle, no drop of blood, no violence. This is the story of how ordinary people got to a real paradise on Earth. In fact, somewhere inside the Earth. We have already seen this in several adaptations of "Journeys to the Center of the Earth" and in the sequel to this novel, shot in 2008. The film in question is billed as a sequel to this blockbuster. And in this sequel, the authors tried to create something more than just a film adaptation or continuation of the novel. This is the continuation of three adventure novels, the action of which takes place in our time.
If the first part was shot when 3D was still a curiosity for everyone, and such stunning 3D-effects were something incredible, then the second part was shot when “three-dimensional” is no longer surprising. 3D-image turned out brilliant in both parts, but in the first it seemed cooler to me – there were more departures and bulges. The very second part turned out, on the contrary, more vivid than the first, and the idea of the sequel is more brilliant than the original. Despite the fact that everything was fine with the characters of the first film, completely different characters are involved in the sequel. Just like in the first part, with his family quarrels and problems. The plot is similar to the first part, but does not stupidly repeat it. This time the journey will be much more enchanting than the descent into the Earth in the first film, the colors are more juicy. The penetration into the funnel through which the characters fell into the mysterious island, reminded a similar scene from Pirates of the Caribbean 3. The story is simple, beautiful and exciting. Every connoisseur of “children’s” fiction and fantasy, such a movie will appeal. This is a beautiful movie.
"Journey 2: The Mysterious Island" - the continuation of the film "Journey to the Center of the Earth" Director of the film Brad Peyton. The film is based on Jules Verne's novel The Mysterious Island. One of the great science fiction writers, but as Dwayne Johnson, Josh Hutcherson, Vanessa Ann Hudgens, Michael Kane have shown us, this is not fiction, but real reality.
The film shows how Josh Hutcherson (Sean Anderson) receives a coded signal requesting help, from an island unknown to the world, it is not listed on one map. Stepfather SeanDwayne Johnson (Hank Parsons), unable to stop him, there is nothing left but to join the search. Together with a helicopter pilot and his beautiful and determined daughter, they must find the island, save its lonely inhabitant and immediately leave the place before an earthquake hides the island under water and bury its treasures forever.
In the film "Journey 2: The Mysterious Island" the writers give us humor to the actors:
Where are you going?
- To a mysterious island!
- Yeah, and on the way, go to the moon and buy me a soda.
I’m sorry I didn’t find the film in the theater, but I’ve watched it many times and will review it as many times, because this picture is interesting to watch even for the hundredth time, as the plot is addictive.
You know, if we die there, Mommy will kill us!
Quotes from the film just want to write and write:
Believe in the impossible - discover the incredible!
The best thing about quotes is that they are easy to remember and there are drops of humor in them:
If this is paradise...I stay!
What are you doing? Applaud!
A very good quote when they fly up to the funnel, which (moves) to the island:
You have to trust Jules Verne.
- I trust only gravity
I am glad that the film was shot on the island of Oahu and in Wilmington, and not several film sets in the United States. "Journey 2: The Mysterious Island" is amazing, if you have not watched the film, you can safely watch it without worrying that you will spend an hour and a half of life in the empty. Anyone who watches will know what I mean.

On a beautiful Saturday night, the whole family gathered in front of the TV screen. We watched Journey 2: The Mysterious Island.
Let's start with beautiful graphics. That's really great! Incredible landscapes, animals, birds, colors and just the atmosphere.
Characters and actors.
Shawn (Josh Hutcherson) is a very nice, smart and smart guy. Loves Verne's books, Stevenson's. Obsessed with solving the mystery of the mysterious island. He has a mother and stepfather Hank Dwayne Johnson (with whom Sean does not have a very good relationship at first). As well as grandfather Michael Kane, who is unknown where.
Next, Sean and Hank find a mysterious island together with Kailani (Vanessa Ann Hudgens) and her father Gabato (Louis Guzman).
There are many traps in this “world.”
There were also some funny moments.
I thought, let's find Nautilus!
- How does a rock band get us out of here?
Result.
This is a beautiful colorful family film. A very good and positive movie that will help you relax.
"Journey 2: The Mysterious Island" - the sequel to the film "Journey to the Center of the Earth" with Josh Hutcherson and Dwan Johnson in the lead roles.
Shawn receives an encrypted signal that the island exists, and he is certainly going to go in search of it. Company Sean decides to make Hank, his stepfather, with whom he does not have the best relationship, but this trip can bring them closer and help to find a common language.
Where are you going?
- To a mysterious island!
- Yeah, and on the way, go to the moon and buy me a soda. (c)
This is not the first time I’ve seen this film, and emotions are still kicking in. I well remember going to the cinema for the premiere, I expected to see a beautiful picture, and got a lot of impressions and a share of great humor, and even in 3D format. Such films I love, insanely beautiful, interesting, exciting, funny and bright. All this is in our film, based on the book "The Mysterious Island" by Jules Verne.
Jules Verne is an amazing science fiction writer who, with the help of a book, helps the reader believe in a fairy tale, and sends him on an unforgettable journey through the unknown corners of the Earth. The directors managed to convey this unforgettable atmosphere and plunge the viewer into the magical world. Who would not like to be in the place of the main characters, and see heaven with their own eyes? So I really wanted to get off the ground and go there, and even in the company of these guys.
Speaking of them, Josh Hutcherson, aka Sean, has grown up and matured since the first part, I love this guy very much, I consider him a talented, successful actor in Hollywood and constantly follow his filmography.
Duan Jones (Hank), Shawn's stepfather, a great actor who looks confident both in the role of an experienced fighter and in a comedy role. He's not afraid to be funny, which is important. And how he played with his "love pectoral muscle" was to be seen.
I liked Michael Kane as a mad scientist grandfather, he is a living embodiment of these crazy scientists, that is how I imagine them.
I especially want to note humor, this is an endless stream of jokes that set a cheerful tone and a great mood throughout the film. The smile didn't come off my face for a minute. It is simply incredible how the creators managed to fit so many memorable jokes into one film and never vulgarize it.
You know, if we die there, Mom will kill us! (c)
This film surpassed the first film in time, the contrast is very noticeable, and how many years have passed. The giant lizard looks much more realistic than those dinosaurs, and the landscape itself is simply indescribable. I wish we had more quality films like this.
"Journey 2: Mysterious Island" - incredibly colorful, spectacular, spectacular, high-class and just plague film, you want to come back to it again and again and enjoy beautiful landscapes and juicy colors.
After this film, I want to dig through my library, because books must be trusted!
What are you standing for? Applaud! (c)
The first part, which has become my tradition, I did not watch. But the second one made me very happy!
Sean (Josh Hutcherson) receives a coded letter and, along with his stepfather (Dwayne Johnson), travels to a mysterious island full of surprises and dangers.
The whole cast played very truthful, quite decently. Josh Hutcherson, Dwayne Johnson, Vanessa Ann Hudgens, Michael Kane, Louis Guzman - a great team! Graphics are also at the level. How happy that here, (unlike the same “Oz: great and terrible”) there is no feeling that everything is drawn, inserted and “glued”. Everything is beautiful, the jungle is bright, colorful. And even an elephant, a giant lizard, etc. look natural and ... frightening!
Lots of funny phrases, jokes. The humor that I liked is one of the advantages of this film. I will not list all the jokes, because many of them have already been described.
Overall, Journey 2: Mysterious Island is a good adventure movie with an excellent team of actors, an interesting plot, good graphics and good humor. Of course, it’s not a masterpiece, but for an evening viewing – that’s it! It looks great in its genre!
“Fantasy knows no bounds when it rests on faith.” - Jules Verne
Journey 2: The Mysterious Island is another great opportunity to revisit the work of the great adventure writer Jules Verne, despite the rather loose interpretation of the events of the book Mysterious Island. The whole story this time is tied to the search for an island lost in the ocean, which Verne described, but also two more works are added to the plot - "Treasure Island" by Stevenson and "Gulliver's Adventures" by Swift. According to the idea of the authors of the picture, these writers described the same island, only each in its own manner. The books of three authors contain the coordinates of the lost piece of land and only combining them can you go on the most unthinkable adventure on our planet!
From the cast to the sequel from the original went only Josh Hutchinson. Perhaps he is the perfect embodiment of his hero in this project, Sean - a new follower of Verne and adventurer. The role of an adult colleague-guardian instead of Brendan Frazier this time performed Dwayne Johnson. And I will say right away – despite the persistent negative associations with the acting talents of former wrestlers, he coped perfectly and we do not notice the absence of Uncle Sean (Frazier), especially since the picture itself is designed to make fun, and what, wrestlers can do it! Johnson played the stepfather of the main character of the dilogy and played as needed. The main advantage of its appearance is its quick effectiveness, well, and constant quarrels with Sean’s uncle, Alexander Andersen, found on the Mysterious Island, who was brought to life by the inimitable Michael Kane. The brilliant dramatic actor Kane has always had an excellent sense of humor, which is proved by such peaks of the entertainment genre as “Without a single clue” and especially “Drunk fraudsters”. Here he has the role of a slightly crazy but ridiculous grandfather, who gladly admits his irresponsibility, but is simply impossible to be angry with. And again, his bickering with the newcomer of the Andersen family Hank (Johnson) is briskly encouraging action!
In the second film, along with Sean's growing up, romantic accents also shifted. To the mysterious island of heroes by helicopter with problems are delivered by the father and assistant daughter. So it is the second heroine, Kailani, performed by Vanessa Ann Hudgens and will naturally become a couple of the main character. Their relationship proceeds according to the standard scheme of Hollywood films - an unexpected meeting, slight irritation, epic salvation, love to the final credits. But in such an easy entertainment project as “Journey 2: The Mysterious Island”, you do not pay attention to this, as entertainment awaits us at every turn! Also in the film there is a mandatory relaxing, clumsy and stupid hero who distracts the viewer’s attention so that he does not let God get bored. in this case it is Gabato, Kailani’s father performed by the famous supporting star Louis Guzman.
In connection with the increase in budget, cheaper special effects and combining three books into one film, we are waiting for adventures that in two accounts overlap the original tape. The action quickly unfolds immediately after the beginning of the picture. The heroes do not reason for a long time and after receiving a strange radiogram from Alexander rush to his search, and to restore friendly relations. Giant tornadoes, crash, escape from giant lizards, flights on large bees, Atlantis, volcano, Nautilus and much more, the authors managed to combine into a single holistic story, which, although it does not claim to be anything highly artistic, nevertheless perfectly fulfills its function - dizzying entertainment!

A lot of questions arise as you watch the movie, and there is no escape from this. As I did not try to turn off the brain, nothing came of this idea. The film is designed for children of teenagers, but will they love it? Brain-destroying special effects and pictures of natural contrasts were expected, but what do we see? Bright landscapes that seemed ordinary to me, compared to other films of this magnitude. A few miniature elephants, a few seconds watching the huge ants, and flying on bees that behave unrealistically! It looks like they’re full of bags!
Even there we run away from a huge lizard that would have eaten them long ago by releasing their tongue (for an attempt made to eat), but she, catching them, shows this! More than one lizard in the world does not behave so slowly, even if it is enlarged a thousand times. So she didn’t make me feel anything but embarrassment. They are also chased by needle-tailed swifts, very similar to birds of paradise but greatly enlarged, who read the characteristics of these birds? For those who have not read the report, swifts fly at a speed of 160 km / h, and hummingbirds up to 30 m / sec. What bees?
Well, the animal world is bad, but what about the island? What is this nonsense about spewing pure gold? A fairy tale to God. They also light up the Nautilus from an electric eel, which itself comes off by lightning, and it's in the water! But I found it fun. The island goes under water, collapsed, and how will the entire animal population with thousands of years of ruins recover? It is possible that since this island itself is ambiguous, somehow everything is restored, for example, by teleportation.
The actors of the film say jokes with the most that is not – a serious mine on the face, well, you can clearly see that they rehearsed. But overall, well played. All the "fantastic" four, along with his newfound grandfather, deserve a positive review. And even though the jokes were understandable NOT only to children, and the stupid antics of the young hero were in the spirit of a teenager with complexes, and a research hero, the film is bright and full of action. What is the meaning of it and what does it preach morality? No, or rather it is, only it is ambiguous. Who should I recommend? And who knows it... even children are sorry to beat the brains, but perhaps it will please housewives, as there are no bloody scenes of violence and shootings.

I didn’t watch Journey to the Center of the Earth, so I rated Journey 2: The Mysterious Island as a complete and self-sufficient film. What can I say? I liked it. Really. Beautiful landscapes, bright colors, unusual metamorphoses with animals, birds and insects. I wish I had seen this movie on the big screen in 3D or without, it doesn’t matter. But the impressions would be stronger.
What the hell is this?!
- This is the best helicopter in Palau!
- I don't want to see the worst.
- I'd rather get on the Titanic. (c)
I can say that the beautiful picture did not eclipse the fascinating plot (as it often happens recently), but served as an excellent background for the development of events. I will not say that the situations in the film are intricate, everything is quite simple, even somewhat illogical, but easy and fun. Really fun.
What was that?
- A terrible sound in a dark cave! Don't stop! (c)
Humor is the decoration of this film. He is not vulgar, but light, fervent, naive. I laughed from the heart!
Get down! Now!
- Why should I come down?
- Insurance won't cover the treatment of old women falling off giant bees! (c)
The actors, in my opinion, were well selected. Even the powerful Dwayne Johnson, who, at first glance, got lost in this film, perfectly fit into the atmosphere. Vanessa Ann Hudgens is cute, beautiful and perfectly suited to the role of the brave Kailani (ah, what a name!). Each character in this company was in his place and contributed to the development of the plot.
I got it! Let's find Nautilus!
- How will a rock band help us get out of here?
- No, the Nautilus is Captain Nemo's submarine.
Unfortunately, I didn't read "Mysterious Island" as a kid. Jules Verne. I am only familiar with Stephenson’s book Treasure Island. But now I want to read the book, because adventure is always interesting.
To sum up, a film is worth watching unless you’re too strict and expect something brilliant and scientific. This is an easy film, fully justifying its genre of “adventure”, which can give you a lot of positive emotions and a charge of good mood. Good to see you!
Many people, and not only in childhood, are fond of the works of Jules Verne. A century and a half passed, and his most famous novels are still successful, especially in cinema.
Sean loves adventure and everything about it. One day, he receives a coded message, presumably from his grandfather, who devoted his life to the study of secrets. In search of his grandfather, Sean goes with his stepfather, whom he hates. It so happens that when talking about this film, the conversation is steadily reduced to the main star - Dwayne Johnson. It's hard to imagine how his pumped body and stern look can have in common with book adventures. Surprisingly, his image fits very well into the whole story.
Events, of course, do not pretend to be authentic, but in its niche adventure movies, look quite interesting. What are only the inhabitants of the mysterious island and some scenes, even bloated to the point of impossibility for lack of realism. Let's say a walk on giant bees. Visually, the picture looks very decent. Not all scenes of the film are exciting and interesting - some want to miss, but overall the film leaves a positive impression, especially the development of the characters. Suddenly, the Hollywood legend Michael Caine fit in here freshly.
This film does not claim to be laurels in the genre of adventure cinema, but easily passes your evening with its heroes, if you are not too demanding.

I think it’s no secret that commercially successful projects are worth their weight in gold. This is a well-founded trend in cinema that works for everything. Hence, it is not surprising that filmmakers are more sympathetic to already proven projects and try to avoid fresh risky ideas. Hence, it is not surprising that the departure from the film Brendan Fraser could not prevent the implementation of the sequel to this tape. Which in itself is gratifying. Because if the sequel didn't work out better, it was worthy of the original. Personally, I expected something too childish and primitive from the film. In fact, I am very surprised at how competently managed the franchise director Brad Peyton. Because almost the entire film is based on one endless adventure that lasts throughout the film and goes from one action to another. Where I was most impressed by the luxurious visual effects from the company Digital Domain.
The visual effects were impressive not only for their realistic physics and detail, but also for how well they harmonized with 3D technology, which the creators of the tape relied on. This is one of the best 3Ds of the year. And some landscapes (whether recreated on a computer or an element of a field shooting) simply took your breath away and made you slowly admire such magnificent beauty around.
Given the obvious emphasis on age restriction and purely family viewing, it is not surprising that the film is drawn in front of us according to the now popular formula pure pleasure. Which translates into a fairly competent director. Where throughout the film, the director of the film Brad Peyton skillfully alternated the action scene with elements of comedy, field shooting with visual effects and so on. From which, I was able to get the purest pleasure from watching the tape. Especially in the context of action scenes, for which I have long had a weakness. One scene of escape from a huge lizard is worth it. What to say about the chase on bees from colorful birds. All this looks very impressive and as a material embodiment of real adventures. What perfectly played out along the way both in really killer jokes and with really funny scenes of action.
Over the past five years, I've noticed that certain films of a certain format are beginning to degrade. Either this is sustained due to a similar degradation of a certain category of viewers, or the creators simply do not want to bother. This leads to the fact that screenwriters often work with other people’s material, rather than writing stories entirely from scratch. So, as in the case of the first tape, the writers of the tape did not bother and built the plot on another classic work of the literary genius Jules Verne. Naturally, the plot turned out to be slightly modified, and instead of quoting the original book, we see stories taking place against the background of the book and under its influence. That awakens an incredibly strong desire to read the book and just imbued with what is happening on the screen action. Moreover, there is no special loading in the plot and its extreme simplicity definitely bribes.
The plot develops easily, pleasantly and excitingly. Despite the abundance of secrets and mysteries, the plot is digested quite easily. Especially in the context of really funny and perhaps even high-quality humor, which effectively translates into witty jokes and no less witty scenes of action. Thus, a lighter version of “Indiana Jones” is sketched on the screen and it is the story with adventures, the likes of which have not been seen in a long time and the starvation of viewers in terms of such stories definitely pulls the film to the surface. Especially when you have a moral about family values. They say you need to appreciate each other in the family, love, support and say that family is the greatest wealth in life. Simple, but important. Actually, as well as an extremely frank hint at the sequel and that the action of the picture can develop on the moon.
The absence of Brandon Frazier in the picture did not affect the quality of the tape in any way. Dwayne Johnson perfectly pulled out his role and again eclipsed everyone with his incredibly strong charisma. Although I thought that the bitter experience of the Rocks showed that it was time for him to stop with family ribbons. Although in this case, his presence in the picture went only to her benefit rather than harm. Especially under the effect of the scene in which he "plays" with his boobs. That was funny.
Josh Hutcherson has grown up and matured. And once again, he proved that he is not deprived of talent. I was pleasantly surprised by Vanessa Anne Hudgens, who of course relied more on her attractive appearance than on acting data. And why the game, if it is already easy to feel the chemistry between Josh and Vanessa? Especially since they are a couple in love. I was definitely surprised to see Michael Kane in this movie. Whatever the genre and the role is not typical enough. But the talent is powerful and we can safely say that Michael made his insanely eccentric and energetic character the brightest hero of the tape. Actually, as well as Louis Guzman, who worthyly pulled all the humor of the tape on his shoulders.
The music of the composer of the film Andrew Lockington, I really liked it. Andrew created a material embodiment of adventure in his music. Where the dynamics and a kind of entertainment is not lost for a minute. Although I was personally most impressed by the luxurious overtures of the tape. With their periodic choral inserts, overtures sometimes strongly resembled the musical motifs of Jasper Kid for my favorite game series “Assasin’s Creed”.

Fun, exciting, funny, funny, easy and full of adventure picture for the whole family. I don't see the point of going into taphthalology. I just want to say that I liked the film and that is why I would like to recommend it to you.
The hero of the previous part Sean receives a coded message from his grandfather, who found the Mysterious Island, described by Jules Verne in the book of the same name. Following the tips in the book, a young guy with his stepfather goes on a trip to this island. Having paid good money to a pilot who has his own helicopter, they go where no island should be, but as you know, miracles sometimes happen.
The second film, which took only one lead actor from the previous part of Josh Hutcherson, is also a freelance remake of the work of Jules Verne. The film was also shot in 3D and is automatically a family entertainment film. Yes, and there is one “but” – the film has become better, or in 4 years the cinema has changed, or the filmmakers took into account all the minor mistakes and made a good movie. I think it's better to do it in 90 minutes!
I liked the film even more than the previous one, Journey to the Center of the Earth (2008). Maybe because the main actor in the film is not 12, but 17 years old, or maybe because the color reproduction of the film has become normal colors: a bright green island against the purple shades of the underworld of the previous picture.
I advise everyone to watch this movie, you will have a lot of fun.

Little Sean has grown up, and this time went with his stepfather to look for his grandfather. You can find the island on which your grandfather is located only by the book of Jules Verne (well, Stevenson). And so the vernists, enlisting the support of a funny fat pilot and his pretty daughter, go in search of Atlantis.
The film is replete with jokes (starper against dull pitching), excellent 3D (literally everything from the screen flew in the face) and a unique atmosphere of a tropical paradise.
References to "Indiana Jones" and "Jurassic Park" are just ramparts. And to follow the trail of the book in search of adventure is always fun.
True, the operator always screwed up with a uniform hit of actors in the frame. When they show the characters together, they certainly emphasize the faces of teenagers, while adults fall into the frame only partially.
Watch it in theaters because 3D is really good. Verne's fans are sure to like it. And the ending is promising.
I like simple teenage films with young, sometimes not devoid of talent “stars”. Yes, they are often lame script, do not shine dialogue and young actors are mostly not wizards, but only learn. But despite this, there is a lot of vitality and even some wisdom in such films.
So I didn’t hesitate to watch Journey 2.
What can I say about the outcome? Don't watch this movie. It will irritate you while watching. And after watching it, you will try to forget it.
Powerful interactions, including verbal ones, characters’ emotions, talent and charisma of actors, a clearly calibrated plot – all this and much more you will not find in this film. There will be pseudo-laws of biogeography, a full paragraph with the laws of physics and many other laws.
How can you think, and perhaps even speak out loud, how could the sea level rise by 30 meters??? Or did he just climb up the mysterious island? But, sorry, if we can theoretically admit a constantly raging tornado tied to one place, then the rise of the sea by 30 meters, due to an area of a couple of hectares, is unlikely.
How?—you will ask the director, and of course you will not hear the answer—how can a completely destroyed Atlantis be restored in any number of years and resurface again?
And you're also going to want to look at the man who made Josh Hutcherson talk about crustal movements and make sure they show up in puddles under makeshift sleeping bags.
Bottom Line: The amount of nerve cells you lose if your body can’t function autonomously without connecting to your brain won’t make up for the energy beating across the edges of this movie, the really juicy picture, or even the sultry South American beauty performed by Vanessa Ann Hudgens.
Her character, by the way, is a complete disaster. Once upon a time, I didn’t know grief, then the folder began to make money on the submarine of Captain Nemo, who many times at the same time tossed in the coffin or under water, and the girl disappeared: an iPhone, a wheelbarrow and a hundred times registered on Facebook.
After the first Journey to the Center of the Earth, I didn’t really want to go to the movies for this film. After all, as you know, sometimes continuations of very good films do not meet our expectations. But this is definitely not about Journey 2.
The film exceeded my expectations! Bright graphics, beautiful 3D effects and this is not the whole list of its advantages!
As for the plot , it is exciting. It was a very clever move on the part of the writers to confuse him. And the main thing is that events do not develop very slowly, the viewer can quickly get all the answers to the mysteries that were present in the film. The film can also be watched by children. The story is clear to such an audience. I can’t help but joke, but what about without them? They are not funny (as they often are). They make you smile.
The cast I was very pleased. There are new interesting characters.
Josh Hutcherson compared to the first film significantly pulled up in acting and grew up. His character became more confident, a kind of adventurer.
Also, from the new characters, I will highlight Vanessa Ann Hudgens, she coped perfectly with her role. And of course, Louis Guzman. It would have looked so bad without him.
In general, despite some illogicality in the script, we get a great family film that does not require mental stress. The audience just enjoys watching and nothing more. For ease and unobtrusiveness, I rate:
The first Journey was also a 3D attraction rather than a full-length film. But its director Eric Brevig managed to reproduce on the screen the magic of American family cinema that reigned in the early works of Spielberg and his associates. In the sequel, directed by Cats vs. Dogs 2 director Brad Peyton, there is no magic smell, and that is why all the shortcomings of the film are so striking. There is a weak adaptation of the novel by Jules Verne, and ridiculous references to Stevenson and Swift, and stamped characters with outdated jokes.
As a result, from a complete failure, the picture is saved by the skill of Michael Caine (who had not such “masterpieces” to pull out and the charm of the Rock (the crunches of which, although they do not change from role to role, but still work). Well, the landscapes of the Mysterious Island are much more beautiful than in the Center of the Earth.

The second part of "Journey" made no less impression than the first. Already another team, but led by the same boy Sean, who, as in the first film, is shown curious, courageous and independent.
The beginning of the film was stunning - it's Sean running away from the police for his grandfather, as we'll find out later. However, it was worth it, especially since the stepfather not only believed him, but also helped in the embodiment of his fleeting dream.
It is hard to believe that some people are willing to sacrifice not only their own lives but also their daughter’s. But lead precisely because of this thirst for money, Father Kaylin agreed to take the whole company to where thunderstorms and hurricanes rage, sacrificing a helicopter, they were able to discover the Mysterious Island.
Mysterious island it would seem from the name that this place should be exotic and bright. At first, the island meets us gloomy and cold, but it is necessary to enter and the sensations change, instead of a thunderstorm, the sun shines, and everything around bright and warm is a real paradise. It is here that everything big is small, and the small is big.
Shawn's grandfather is a real explorer and traveler, as is his stepfather not with a bad sense of humor. This is a tireless person who always needs new sensations.
The whole company seemed to be contradictory at the beginning, by the end of the film, a good team came out of them.
In general, the film is worth watching, preferably in the company of family or friends. Time will not be wasted, and the impression will remain for a long time. I hope this is not the last film based on the books of Jules Verne.

The Fantastic Worlds of Jules Verne: The Mysterious Island
First of all, the creators of “Journey” deserve praise for instilling in viewers an endless love of adventure with their film and reminding young audiences that in addition to Rowling’s charming book novels about the young wizard Harry Potter, there are many other equally charming classical literary works, at one time being literally desktop among young fans of the most incredible travel books. And you know, in this picture, the plots of Jules Verne’s books are so deliciously used, however, as well as the books themselves, according to which the characters navigate in their travels, that I think many people will want to discover the worlds of the legendary science fiction writer or simply sit down again for reading their favorite book novels. And this is expensive, because Verne’s works are really full of incredible miracles, amazing stories and fascinating stories. Each book of the writer is a real recognition of the author’s love of adventure. This is a storehouse of all the most mysterious, mysterious and hidden. And let this tape is not a direct adaptation of the novel of the same name by the French science fiction writer and more like a banal fantastic comedy for the whole family - looking at the picture and you can see with the naked eye that its authors really want to give the audience unforgettable adventures, as well as hint that without them our life would be incredibly boring and uninteresting. Yes, there are a huge number of stamps, stereotypes and patterns, and the conceptual predictability of “Island” through literally all the cracks, but the spirit of adventure that hovers throughout the film, allows you to close your eyes to all the shortcomings and enjoy the fascinating story.
In the previous part, young Sean Anderson and his always busy uncle managed to make a trip to the very center of the earth, about which the genius Jules Verne wrote in his novels. It would seem that such an adventure in your life can be experienced only once, until the very end of your being with excitement remembering amazing events. But in this series of adventures again called Sean when he received from his grandfather a signal for help from the mysterious island. Being adoring the novels of Jules Verne, Sean immediately guessed that his grandfather is not on an ordinary island, but on the most mysterious, which is mentioned in one of the books of the writer. That means we have to go back on the road! Is that it? After all, now he lives with his mother and stepfather, whom he does not like very much, and it is unlikely that they will let him go in search of the island. But fortunately, Sean’s stepfather, who wants a favorable attitude towards himself, agrees to go on a search with the boy, and now these two, along with the funny helicopter pilot and his beautiful daughter, will see with their own eyes what yesterday could only be imagined by reading a book. Discover another world of Jules Verne and experience incredible adventures!
The advantage of “Mysterious Island” over the first part called “Journey to the Center of the Earth” is that the sequel, unlike its predecessor, was shot not entirely in the pavilions, but mainly on the beautiful nature of the island of Oahu. Still, the somewhat gloomy locations of the Center of the Earth are slightly inferior to the picturesque natural views of the mysterious island. But this is again a matter of taste, for your humble servant just loves when cinematic adventures take place in various jungles and forests, against the background of completely green mountains and seething waterfalls. After all, the entourage is very important for films of this genre, and if it is served at least a little hulking, the magic that makes you believe and feel the events taking place on the screen disappears. And the most remarkable thing is that the director of the picture Brad Peyton not only throws the characters on a beautiful island forcing them to wander around its land for nothing, but uses literally all its components a little referring to the original book, a little to the plot moves invented by the scriptwriters. Also, while watching the film, the most favorite fragments from the adored adventure tapes are often recalled. Meeting with a giant lizard trying to eat our heroes pleasantly reminds us of similar scenes from the trilogy “Jurassic Park”, everywhere creeping insects seem to have flown from the island of skulls – the home of the legendary King Kong, flights on bees are associated with the sixth episode of “Star Wars”, well, the stunningly recreated city of Atlantis is literally breathtaking and allows you to recall with delight one beautiful animated Disney creation that once gave you many magical minutes. Just don’t think that this is about plagiarism – under no circumstances! Just by watching The Mysterious Island, everyone can have their own associations and memories. First, the picture is initially built on the classic Verne novels, which are a real storehouse of adventure. And secondly, the mention of the creations of Spielberg, Lucas and Jackson is more a figment of my cinematic imagination, which does not represent this life without their amazing works.
Actors here are also very sympathetic and amusing. I really liked Michael Kane as Anderson’s grandfather lost on Mysterious Island. His skirmishes with Dwayne Johnson, who played Shawn’s stepfather, made us smile and cheer up more than once, and this character’s devoted love for adventure here is so convincing that it literally infects us from the screen. Johnson, by the way, also repeatedly bemoaned his jokes and jokes, especially in those scenes where he taught his stepson to care for girls - his twitching pumped pectoral muscles looked silly, but at the same time really funny. Josh Hutcherson, who grows up literally before his eyes with each film, is also happy. It will be interesting to look at him in more dramatic ways, and judging by his childhood role in the film Bridge to Terrabitia, the prerequisites for this definitely exist. Louis Guzman also delighted with his clumsy and kind-hearted Gobat - the only pilot who agreed to take Sean and his stepfather to the island. But Vanessa Ann Hudgens looks mediocre. Yes, she's a pretty girl, but as an actress she doesn't grow up at all and seems very infantile. She urgently needs to play in some serious film to finally destroy this stereotype of the ordinary girlfriend of the hero and prove that she is not a walking cliché, but a real actress!
P.S. Journey 2: The Mysterious Island is literally woven out of adventure. Light, colorful and exciting film, which is really able to lift the mood, as well as so much to infect your adventure mood that do not be surprised if after watching the tape you want to go on some memorable journey! And yet, this picture reminds us of the beautiful works of the writer Jules Verne and allows you to plunge into amazing events in which familiar illustrations from long-forgotten books literally come to life before your eyes, and the adventures waiting for heroes at every step are good exhilarating and delighting.

The film can be characterized by the first word in it. . .
What can I say? The film is colorful, but not realistic, shot in 3D and exclusively for 3D. That’s all I liked about the movie. Negative in order.
The script is a horror story. Absolutely not the sequence of the plot at the beginning. Scenes will jump one by one! The film begins with Sean riding a motorcycle from the police chasing him and eventually they catch him. Then there's the house scene, where we find out that Sean and Hank aren't going well. Then, in order to find common ground with Sean, Henk comes to his room, where they unravel the super-mega-encrypted code in a couple of minutes. Which his grandfather personally sent to Sean. After that, Sean naturally expressed a desire to travel halfway around the world to a mysterious island. Henck is going to fly with him, of course.
The next scene is the marina, where the main characters rent a rusty bucket and fly it to the most dangerous place in the ocean. Then they get into a hurricane, where they spin, the helicopter falls apart before their eyes, and the main characters get to the beach with huge boulders, while remaining without a scratch. In general, these are the first thirty minutes of the film, which were clearly stretched and adjusted to the middle and denouement.
It is also worth noting that on the coast there is a gray sky, covered with clouds and hurricanes raging, and thirty meters later, passing through the cave, there is already a clear and clear sky. This is far from the only blunder that contradicts all known laws in the world. Then, throughout the film, there are absurdities of the type: the law of biogeography, a fault that engulfs the island crushing everything on it (but in 140 years it will recover again and that is unlikely to restore its ecosystem with “biogeography”). And absurdities and blunders of smaller size, but more in quantity like: eggs in which instead of protein was air. Maybe I find faulty, but all this greatly interferes with viewing.
The whole film consists of American stamps, it seemed that most of the scenes were taken from other films, because when watching I remembered: the series 'The Lost World', then 'Avatar' with its flights on dragons.
The heroes themselves: an ordinary teenager, with his own problems in the family and his first love. His stepfather is Henk, who is stuck in his problems and eternal attempts to find contact with a difficult teenager. Girl (I don't remember her name), the character is not bright, not memorable. Her father was supposed to be comic, and got stupid. Grandfather - instead of a dreamer and romance, turned out angry, crazy old man. Heroes' speech - a set of words, completely meaningless and sometimes inappropriate, especially clearly seen at the beginning of the film.
The film turned out to be colorful, seasoned with family drama, stupid jokes and awkward dialogue, in which they mixed: an island, a nautilus, and something Atlantis.
They need to hurry or we're running out of ground.
"Journey 2: Mysterious Island" - if the first part of Jules Verne's adventures to the center of the earth, which took place in the company of another director and another leading actor, I liked the sequel even more, here and adventure, and in other things everything else was at a slightly higher level than the first part. I want to mention the five main characters who were going to go to a mysterious island, but after they learned that every minute all this beauty is immersed in the water, they immediately rushed to the sooner they return home.
Dwayne Johnson, Michael Kane, Josh Hutcherson, Vanessa Ann Hudgens, Louis Guzman, all of them deservedly played in the continuation of the incredible adventures of Jules Verne. Now I understand where Robert Rodriguez got the idea to create his own mysterious island in the second part of the movie “Spy Kids”. There were not exactly the right animals. I believe that for such bright adventures an hour and a half, it is too little, two hours, I think it would be enough to acquaint the viewer with an incredible and very beautiful island.
Well, without what adventures are not possible, of course, that without some fool who is afraid of everything and behaves a little ridiculously in various situations, without a beautiful girl with whom one of the main characters will surely fall in love and in some episode will save her, after which she will say to him “You saved me!” And smile at him. Adventure is also not without problems, dangers, mistakes that the main characters like to make twice.
As you might have guessed, it was all here, but it did not affect the fact that I was disappointed in the film, as if it was so predictable, and I also forgot that adventure is impossible without a Happy ending and this is a proven concrete fact. I am very pleased with the viewing, honestly, I thought that the second film will not be interesting, but as it turned out, everything was really bright in every sense. Summing up, Adventures are different and in large cases they are not interesting or too banal, but here everything was not at the highest, but at a decent level.

Before you write a review, it is worth noting that in fact, adventures rarely get the go-ahead for sequels, and even more so they collect, albeit not very, but a solid cash register (only "National Treasure" comes to mind). So, very rarely. But once a year and the stick shoots, and the film turned out to be worthwhile.
So, starting to lay out on the shelves, you need to answer the most important question: is it worth watching this film?
In general, even in the not so distant 2008, the idea to make a film based on the book of Jules Verne is not a direct adaptation, but as if transferring to our time, "based on" the novel seemed quite good, and "Journey to the center of the Earth" justified the idea of the creators - not brilliantly, but at the level, a good entertaining movie. Now the writers did not suffer much and decided to link two different novels of the writer into one through one hero - Sean Anderson. Again, "motivated." And again, level. The sequel is quite as watchable as the first part of the franchise, not inferior in humor, and in some ways even overtakes. For example, nature is simply chic, and any viewer, even the most critical, may be able to call the film a dirty lump you know what, but still celebrate the beautiful landscapes, flora and fauna created by the creators of this film. It also attracts his clarity in the film. You do not sit and think about any word or hint of one of the characters, looking for a hidden meaning or reference to the first part. This movie is perfect for the whole family to watch. So, the answer to the question "is it worth watching this movie" is YES.
What's next? Next question: Did the actors play their part well?
I think we did. The main characters are only five, and none of the characters is not entitled to be called “scenario” – that is, a character created on the plot as a necessary aspect, and is good only on paper. Each character complements each other, and the relationships within this diverse small collective are well shown. Here you and the problems of stepfather-stepchild played by Sean and Hank, and the relationship of a poor father with a daughter who dreams for her of a better life, and the relationship of Sean with his grandfather, who is still a reveler, and a pleasant highlight - the sharpness between the characters of Dwayne Johnson and Michael Caine. And every hero did the right thing. Not tense, but with some enthusiasm. They did their job, but nothing more. Michael Kane’s performance is especially noteworthy. Such a slightly disgusting old man can become a loyal friend and mentor, but if he does not love, then your nerves will tremble for a long time. So, Yes, the actors played their part well.
Summing up, we must say that “Journey 2” is quite a good adventure film, easy, leaving after watching warm feelings, like a good fairy tale. If you like adventure, add it to your collection. If you love the first part, you have to watch it. If you read Jules Verne - at discretion, because the film is a book of discord. And so, quite a good representative of the genre.
