“True color is the essence of an object BEFORE it has been exposed to its surroundings.” While “the brush of my emotions continues its dance”, I write a review under the musical accompaniment of the final credits of this film.
The picture pleased me very much with its frankness. Sincerity in the eyes of Nikolai Serov, a famous artist who survived a severe tragedy, but survived, throughout the film maintained a certain respect and empathy. The boy, the purity of his feelings and a harmless heart, able to see, hear, listen, but most importantly, firmly holding the direction to move along the planned path, despite the reproaches of his native man, his father, who constantly identifies the manipulations of the artist, with the shameful movements of a guy of non-traditional orientation:
“My father was a true homophobe. For him to catch me at work with a brush is equivalent to what I would suck at my friend.
All this brings together these two, certainly gifted personalities, an avid lover of vodka, the Russian artist Serov, and aspiring to learn the depth of his beloved business, young John, together, far from the glowing eye sockets of the houses of the city anthill. Far from misunderstanding and criticism, these two, as if lost by an unjust public, rejected by a progressive mind, help each other find what they have been searching for so long and diligently all their lives.
“Always look for colors in the shadows.”
“The ability to wipe your own ass is an incentive to develop, but all this knowledge can only be obtained through experience, and in no other way...”
The reality of events makes us understand that this is not a fiction of a science fiction writer, but the very fact that there is no truth to life.
Excellent musical accompaniment, decent performance of actors.
