Welcome to the Scene 2004. It seems that it was not so long ago, it seems that very little has changed since then. But the internet was completely different. Social media, an integral part of modern society, was in its infancy, and Facebook had just emerged. Before the launch of YouTube, without which it is difficult to imagine the global web, there is still a year. However, illegal file-sharing networks have long been in full force. However, most people who participate in file sharing have no idea where the files come from. They have no idea that there is a whole world, a huge global infrastructure that exists solely to mine and absorb new content. At the top level of this mechanism is the place where virtually all these files come from, which then spread around the world. We call it "C-N-A."
In view of its subject matter, the series is unlikely to interest those who are not familiar with file sharing at least at the philistine level. For those of us for whom downloading an illegal movie is as easy as going to the bathroom, the series will tell us a lot about the structure of virtual piracy.
About the series: Unusual, unique, original, perhaps primitive, but nevertheless influential. Hypnotizing. In this at first glance, primitivism has all the components of a truly high-quality work: a good intriguing plot, enveloping the atmosphere, sometimes not bad tension ... Do you know what this means for a project like this? We are talking about a project that forces the viewer to look at the desktop for five hours, read the correspondence of the characters and so on. To achieve an effect through such a limited means is what is striking.
Actor's game is present, but this, perhaps, can be avoided. It is worth noting the music , which is selected perfectly and perfectly corresponds to the spirit of the series. Not to mention Maylynne's main theme, "Catch Me," which eats into the head and rapes the brain like a pop hit. The only difference is that this topic is the most beautiful, so rape is pleasant.
Exclusively from myself I will say: from the first seconds of the series, I was incredibly drawn and immersed in myself, this feeling persisted for several episodes, after which it began to fade. Closer to the middle, it becomes difficult to delve into the subtleties of what is happening on the screen, and the desire is less and less. The form of the series impresses with its non-standard, but I want to see a much greater development of this form than the authors suggest. In other words, for five hours this form was not enough. Tired.
However, this does not negate the listed advantages. The series is worth hearing about. You should at least try to meet him. It's something fresh, new. Once again, the effect of the first series is comparable to a sip of cold water in the hot desert.
This is a real proto-punk from the world of TV series.
