Absurdly strange series captivated the hearts of millions of viewers around the world from 5 to 25 years and combines all the facets of the impossible.
Season 2. 40 episodes filled with the most incredible mystical riddles that would hardly occur to a mentally healthy person. But every detail of this cozy lost town in the West of the States penetrates deeply into the soul, and primarily thanks to the two main characters.
The twins Dipper and Mabel Pines, it was their connection and interaction that kept me until the very end, because in the series, as you might say, there is a lot of absurd humor, which sometimes causes nervous grins or urges to disgust. The drawing of the characters is quite pleasant and resembles those cartoons that were played on TV in the early two thousandth.
A special place in my heart is occupied by Uncle Stan - a man who reflects the ideal of growing up and communicating with grandchildren, a perfectly spelled character who deserves a standing ovation.
This cartoon is a real hit, which gave the Internet a lot of caps and quotes.
It is interesting that each series is interconnected with each other, as in the real series, and if the first season serves as a backstory, the second plunges the viewer into the thick of events, not forgetting to perfectly develop the characters. A well-defined plot makes the cartoon really interesting.
What's embarrassing is the age rating. In my opinion, 12+ (this is logical, given that the main characters are twelve). "Gravity Falls" is nostalgia for childhood, for playing with a big brother and friends, for the times when children did not spend the best years of their lives sitting at computers all day for a flight. This film is worth watching at least once to be able to think about summer and returning to Gravity Falls.
- What is Gravity Falls?
This is a place where every fantasy is real.
Where are we from? Yeah, that's right, from childhood! As a child, we could be really free of routine, we could fantasize all day long, but then we grew up and the worries consumed us. However, there is a place where you can return at any moment, a place where you can fantasize without restrictions - this is the place of Gravity Falls.
The small village of Gravity Falls is lost in the forest, a place where miracles await at every turn and the trees always remain large. Dwarves, man-bulls and even ancient deities live here, you can even travel in time, but not all at once, let’s go in order; Dipper and Mabel - twins whose parents sent on a summer vacation to their uncle Stan on the outskirts of Gravity Falls. The uncle manages a certain “miracle cabin” – a lure for tourists, where Dipper and his sister Mabel will spend all summer holidays. Dipper is a well-balanced, diligent boy, rational and progmatic, and his sister Mabel is just the opposite of her brother, she always knows what others need. Soos and Wendy work in the Wonder Hut as well as Stan. Soos is a slightly eccentric and kind guy who works as a handyman, and Wendy is a 15-year-old red-haired girl at the checkout. As for Stan himself, he may seem rude and boorish about money, in fact he is rude and hum, but these qualities do not fully characterize the figure of Uncle Stan. In fact, he is hurtful and caring, just carefully hiding it. From the very first day, Dipper and Mabel begin to get acquainted with the wonders that are literally stuffed with Gravity Falls. At first, little by little, but then they just take a whirlwind of adventure and a variety of events; the diaries of an unknown scientist, acquaintance with dwarves, the celebration of Letoween and this is not a complete list of adventures that await Dipper and Mabel this summer. And in all these adventures, their faithful companions will be Uncle Stan, Soos, Wendy and her friends.
The series will be perceived by each viewer in different ways, for a child it is just a fun and exciting journey into the world of fairy tales, for a teenager it is a story with a moral about friendship and duty, and for an adult it is a chance to once again remember his childhood and his old friends, rest in nature with his grandmother or in a pioneer camp, about dreams that may not have come true, but were pure and sincere. Nobody's going to get bored. The humor in the series is sincere and kind, and the plot is filled with riddles and secrets that will appeal to both children and adults.
Gravity Falls is a place where you want to return when you are bored, whose friends you will remember all your life and events that will change your life, just do not rush to grow old in your soul, believe in miracles and at least sometimes have ice cream for lunch.

“Twin Peaks for children” — someone wrote on the Internet, so I remembered.
Gravity Falls is a masterpiece of American animation for children and adults. Created by Alex Hirsch (a delightful dude), the cartoon broke all viewing records thanks to just three things:
1) Parents fuse two twins 12 years old to their distant relative (Grunkle, that is, grandfather-uncle ... great-uncle, in short, the seventh water) in the wilderness. Great Uncle has not just a house, but a trap for tourists - House of Secrets! It's a bit of a cash-squeeze, if it's easier. That's just around real secrets are being created, real monsters run and there are real mysteries!
Each series is self-contained, but moves the overall story forward. There are no bad series at all. Humor every time demolishes (especially in the original, although our translator-producer Syenduk was able to catch the maximum).
2) The characters are amazing. Kids are very lively, adults are a little nuts, and teenagers are cool. Everything is a little embellished with a child’s perception, but this only makes it cooler. Moreover, the characters grow, change and do not cease to amaze.
(3) Secrets and details are where the fun begins. Let’s start with the fact that in each series there is a code. At the beginning of the series there is a voice speaking backwards and it carries a hint. From the first frame, you can find things that will play in several series.
Alex Hirsch said in an interview that he had been obsessed with codes and codes since he was a kid, so he got the most out of his cartoon. On the Internet you can find dozens of videos on the theme “another Hirsch cipher solved!” – the creators played with those who watched the cartoon in a variety of ways. The most zealous fans unraveled the Plot Turn in half a year and posted information on the Network, and since Hirsch closely followed the reaction on the Network, in one of the episodes there is a place when the characters discuss over the TV “What?” And this turn in the series did we wait so long? and one character adds "I figured it out half a year ago!"
Why should you watch this with the kids? – Believe me, you will get your own layer of jokes and scenes. My favorite indicator that this show as a whole to an adult audience was behind the following scene: Gremlin's look makes you see your worst nightmare. Heroes make Gremlin look at himself in the mirror. Togo throws into a nightmare, where he, in a greasy T-shirt and family underwear, sees his reflection in the mirror and then says “You have become your father!” – after which the monster runs away in panic.
It's not a joke for 8+ kids or 18-year-olds, it's a joke for an adult, perhaps in a midlife crisis. And that makes the cartoon brilliant.
I don't know what made me watch this show in '32: an old dream to walk through the redwood forests of sowing. California and Oregon, or nice drawing, which is so lacking in modern cartoon series. Or maybe the total dominance of thrash humor on TV, because this humor is more honest, sometimes very childish, but delivering pleasant impressions at any age, it does not seem stupid and vulgar.
What made you watch, and not regret the time, is the plot, smoothly developing to a logical, unpredictable in the beginning, the end;
I want to add that this is a rare example of animation that I will show to my children along with duck stories, chips and dale as an example of American animated series. He teaches the right things, like Krylov's fables, and that's important. It is also good to learn English.
Against the background of the general mud of modern animation 9ka!
Therefore, I made a volitional decision — to leave at the peak... (Sergei Druzhko)
It so happened that I met this animated series very late. I’ve heard a lot about him, but the news of the series ending soon caught my attention, so I decided to get to know him. And, you know, no TV series or animated series has ever been seen so fast - I liked it so much.
So, the series tells about twins: brother and sister Dipper and Mabel, who are sent to their uncle Stan in the small town of Gravity Falls for the summer. But as it turns out, this town is not as ordinary as it seems. Together they will uncover a lot of mysteries and mysteries and ultimately save the world from destruction.
Mysteries, amazing events of anomalous nature will accompany you throughout a huge number of episodes. From the start, I thought it was something like an animated X-Files, but as it turns out, this series is much deeper than it seems.
Why is this series so beloved by millions?
The main advantage is the graphic component. Initially, looking at the characters and scenic landscapes, you might think that Nickelodeon had a hand in this, but it’s easier here. The characters are pleasant to the eye, their body movements are smooth, and we do not get anything unpleasant in the frame, as, for example, in the same SpongeBob. The style of the image is quite pleasant, with the help of it, the creators were able to relax and strain, and even at some moments to frighten the viewer.
Another virtue is the characters of Gravity Falls. Each of them has its own unique characters, habits, manners of speaking. All of them are different, but this does not make them alien to the viewer. Each of us will be able to find a hero close to himself.
Dipper is an ordinary boy who wants to find out and understand everything. This is the reason why most of the secrets of the city are revealed.
Mabel is a very funny and funny sister of Dipper. It is associated with most heart and love affairs.
Uncle Stan - a typical miser and fraudster, trying to cash in on tourists, working in the Cabin of Wonders.
The animated series is full of other characters, each of which is interesting, each of which is able to attract attention.
Another very significant plus is the parody style of the story. Each series will contain some mystery, an Easter egg, an interesting detail, as well as, of course, parodies on all known clichés. This is interesting to watch, as humor and proper attitude to detail make the series something deep, without straining. You can not penetrate into solving mysteries and riddles at all, but at the same time you can also get a lot of pleasure.
Hmm. A responsible adult would forbid children to play with an axe. Good thing I'm not! Avenge me! Take revenge!
Thus, "Gravity Falls" is a great entertainment for the whole family. Naturally, there are too light series, but all this eventually combines into something epic, there will be moments that are called “goosebumps”. Respect for different generations, relying on versatile problems and ways to solve them do their job. The series, by and large, will attract a younger, more adult audience, because children, the main characters of the series, ask adults, close to us, questions, and they decide in their own way, in a childlike way.

P.S. And remember: reality is an illusion, the universe is a hologram, buy gold bye!
Best Disney animated series co-times Chip and Dale
Disney Studio has long turned from an animation studio into a huge money squeezer, whose films consistently occupy the first line at the box office every year. This is certainly not a bad thing (all studio bosses want to make more money), but Disney apparently forget that they work primarily at Mickey Mouse Studios, not at Marvel Studios and Star Wars Studios.
Actually, no, they don't. Proof of this is Gravity Falls, which was released in 2012. Let’s go through all its pros and cons and try to understand why this series has a horde of fans around the world and why I loved it so much.
Pros.
Quality of series
This is undoubtedly the main merit of Alex Hirsch and the company. It is necessary to try hard to make 40 episodes of one animated series and never miss either as humor, or in scary monsters, or in interesting plots. It’s not a show that’s worth watching just for one particular series. This series is worth watching because of all the series!
Courage
The series literally tears the pattern at this point compared to other series. Mountains of references to the popular culture of the United States, ridiculing excessive American patriotism, ridiculing pathetic clichés from films ... you can list for a long, long time. But when listing, do not forget to remember what is next to this humorous component. Mystery, quest, terrible monsters, and an irresistible experience for the main characters.
Characters
Oh, I love them so much! Dipper, Mabel, Stan, Soos, Wendy, Bill Cypher... there are a lot of them, and everyone has an interesting character. Again, we come across the fact that Hirsch does everything very well and does not forget about any detail.

This story will be remembered by you for a long time.
My acquaintance with this animated series was unexpected, even for me. I learned about this picture with the help of my sister, who is a fan of the Gravity Falls world. At that moment, I immediately noticed a pretty nice animation and good voice acting, but then it didn’t really catch me. Half a year later, my hands reached this miracle. This animated series broke my stereotype: cartoons are for kids. Now I am ready to argue with anyone who thinks so. In this picture there are many advantages, I will give a couple of examples:
(1) Exciting story
2 Jokes that absolutely any person would laugh at
3) Unstressed, when watching you can always relax and forget about the problems
Finally, I want to say that I didn’t watch anything as fast as Gravity Falls, and that’s a big indicator for me, if you haven’t seen this story, then it’s time!

Family - the most important and important in the life of each person
I will say at once: I am probably a rather mediocre spectator, and perhaps that is why I cannot judge objectively. And maybe someone will say that I make out of a mountain... But I just can’t not share my thoughts, I just burst out to tell the world about my opinion about this series.
I knew about this animated series for a long time - thanks to my brother - but I did not dare to watch it for a long time, not trusting the taste of my brother. But one day that day came when I decided to watch the first series. By that time, both seasons had already come out in the Russian dub, and I did not have to look for and wait for the next ones. And I didn't regret anything. The universe of a small town of loggers completely captured me in its action-packed world. In a world full of mysteries and mysteries, where you can both lose and find yourself.
At first it seems that all the inhabitants of this town - to put it mildly, a little crazy, but then you realize that this is not quite so. And purely psychologically, this touch of naivety is just a protective reaction of a person. In addition, in one of the series, we learn one of the most important reasons for “stupidity”: almost every resident of the city at least once erased his memory, which eventually led to some “stupidity”.
Cartoon characters learn a lot – and it’s not just about solving mysteries out of sheer curiosity. Throughout the film (I will now call it that) the characters grow up in every sense of the word – physically, mentally, mentally. And the viewer who wants to hear grows with them.
The main characters are only twelve years old, who turn thirteen on the last day of summer, that is, the thirty-first of August. But during that time in Gravity Falls, they're growing up, and they're growing up a lot, but... not yet. And Dipper himself says this at the trial of “Dreams against reality” to his sister, who did not want to leave the world of fantasy.
Dipper:". But one thing I know well. You, Mabel. And even if you like it, you don’t want to live in a fantasy world. You are afraid of growing up.
His speech itself says a lot. Yeah, they've grown up. Not much. They still have a lot to learn, but the main thing they have learned. They learned to answer for their actions and even words, learned to stand up not only for themselves, but also for others. And most importantly, they learned to appreciate the most precious thing they have – family. The family is the closest to you, and therefore the dearest. You ask, what about friends? I will answer: friends are the same family, or rather part of it.
I don’t know if I got it right, but for me, this film doesn’t primarily reveal the mystical mysteries or the incredible adventures of “near teenagers,” but the importance of family values. Gravity Falls reveals the true essence of things. And people.
Just because you're smart doesn't mean you can't make the stupidest mistake of your life. Just because you’re used to looking at the world through rose-colored glasses doesn’t mean you can’t tell the dark from the light and choose the right side. If everyone considers you a greedy crook and a fraud, it does not mean that you are not able to sacrifice everything for the sake of your family.
Each person has their own advantages and disadvantages, there is a bright side and a dark side. All that matters is your choice. What do you choose? On the basis of Gravity Falls, you understand how duplicitous a person’s soul can be. After all, in the end, Dipper was able to reach even the heart of Gideon - one of his worst enemies.
Dipper: Do you want to be a hero for Mabel?Look into your heart, Gideon. If all this is for Mabel, think about what she would ask you to do.
And I personally have this opinion: many, probably, consider the main mistake of the genius Ford that he fell for the outright flattery of Bill Schifer. But I think his biggest mistake was not standing up for his brother when his father kicked him out of the house. Yes, Stan was guilty of being denied a place at the university of his dreams. Indirectly, but still guilty. But it has already happened, it was already in the past, and because of this, abandon your brother.
Separately, I would like to note the role of Bill Shifre, the oldest demon, the main antagonist of the film. Of course, he is such a terrible, nightmarish psychopath, insane maniac, but he united absolutely everyone - friends, enemies. Everyone. The whole city has a common goal - to defeat him and regain his family and friends. He made everyone forget about enmity and prejudice, class hatred and other grievances.
What I would like to say for the last time... This movie is for everyone. Not only for children, but also for adults. Everyone will find something for themselves. Someone will like light humor, someone – an abundance of secrets, ciphers and riddles, and someone, like me, will see more.
Mabel: Summer is over, Candy. It's time to grow up. Dipper: "Just not too much."
Look, look, everybody! Don’t be in a hurry and don’t be afraid to grow up! Remember your last summer of childhood! And remember the most important thing, and if you forget - "Gravity Falls" will always help you remember!

The twins Dipper and Mabel Pines come for the summer to visit their great-uncle Stan, who works and lives in a museum of oddities called the “Secret Cabin” in the small town of Gravity Falls. Just in the early days of their summer vacation, Dipper and Mabel realize that Gravity Falls is the strangest and most extraordinary city in America, in which some paranormal phenomena constantly occur. At the same time, Dipper gets a mysterious magazine describing various anomalies of the city, and now the guy dreams of finding the author of this folio.
I haven’t watched any TV series from and on. But the reviews on Gravity Falls have been so numerous and positive, and the memes on these Internets of yours are so entertaining that it would be a crime to miss this show on my part. I looked at it and I can’t say it was really wow. The main problem with Gravity Falls is the low density of humor. Of course, in each episode there are 2-3 moments that are guaranteed to cause laughter. But everything else may well be somewhere between “smile” and “fun.” The series does not make you jump in a chair in pauses, when one series has already ended, and you have not yet managed to launch the new one in the player. I didn’t have any sense of overwhelming desire to stay up at midnight and watch Gravity Falls. 2-3 series and enough for today. It took a couple of months to watch.
Of course, I can’t deny that in terms of characters, atmosphere, setting, picture, voice acting, and fantasy, Gravity Falls is above average. I especially liked the lineup of main characters, most notably, of course, Mabel, Stan and Soose. The last of them is generally my role model: kind, brave, clumsy and charming fatty Souz, how he helped everyone at times. It was his jokes that often became the additional factor in the attractiveness of the series, which prompted further viewing. It was also quite common for Stan. The most memorable moment with him was when he didn't want to get up and watch an old movie. Mabel is also a fire: charming and strange. Although, of course, the secondary characters at times were very good, what only stands bred in the incubator youth group, or extremely nasty dwarves, or little villain Gideon. A good movie, in short.
One word, “Gravity Falls” is an animated series that is certainly worth watching. Very handy was the fact that its creators did not pull from the idea of all the juices, and rounded up, fitting into more than decent for TV-show timing. Very strong work, but, in my opinion, still with a very noticeable sag in terms of humor. You laugh in your voice, you smile a little throughout the series. But maybe that's my problem.
What do you think can happen if you mix Twin Peaks, X-Files, Easter eggs and references to various phenomena of popular culture and spice it all up with pleasant animation? Yes, as a result, you will get a sweet, good-natured, but at the same time funny and memorable animated series “Gravity Falls”.
Before I met him, it was already a season and a half and I found a lot of praise for him. And that's what got me.
And I decided to watch it one day. First the first series, then the second... And then involuntarily catch yourself thinking that you have already watched half of the first season and you want the series to not end.
How did that happen? It's very simple! The animated series has a lot of great standout elements that individually will look, say, too boring and dull. But bringing them together, the animated series is filled with meaning.
What are the elements, you ask... Well, I'll tell you.
1) Animation.
It would seem that the cartoon was made with an eye on the children's audience. And as you know, with animation, in many of them, there are huge problems. But here the situation is exactly the opposite. It is pleasant to the eye and does not seem too pretentious.
(2) Characters.
There are many different characters in the series. But of all things in order.
Dipper Pines is a completely ordinary boy who suspects that everything is not as good in the town of Gravity Falls as it seems at first glance. Later, his suspicions are justified when he finds the diary of an unknown author, which tells in detail about the anomalies of the town. He has a twin sister, Mabel. In love with Wendy
Mabel Pines is the exact opposite of Dipper. According to Dipper Mabel, she is a hopeless optimist. Cheerful, cheerful. It is the source of most of the humor directed at children. Trying to start a summer romance, but fails on this front.
Stanford Pines is the cousin of the twins, whom they call Uncle Stan. A crook, a crook, greedy for money. He owns a house he converted into a store called the Wonder Shop, where he exhibits fake exhibits and sells small souvenirs for $100. Sees tourists walking wallets. But at the same time, he is a crook with a heart of gold. He would do anything for his family. He hides some secrets, which, as it turns out, he carries out only for the sake of his family.
Zus Ramirez — employee of the "Shop of Miracles". At first glance, it looks stupid and clumsy. But behind these qualities is hidden another “skeleton in the closet”. Very dear friendship with Dipper and Mabel that for them he is ready to do anything.
Wendy is the daughter of woodcutter Dan, an employee of the Wonder Shops. A 15-year-old girl who is a typical teenager. It's Dipper's love interest. Very brave and well prepared to survive in the wild.
Bill Schifer is the main antagonist throughout the series. Two-dimensional one-eyed triangle (an obvious reference to the Illuminati). Smart, crazy and charming. Performs various insanities, like presenting as a gift of the ever-squeaking head or the organization of Strangegeddon.
Local wildlife is a rather strange choice of local fauna as characters. There are terrible monsters, and a crowd of dwarves, and selfish unicorns and many other inhabitants of the surrounding town. The funniest on all this background will be half-bulls and half-man Musikotavra and Dwarfs.
Secondary characters - in this animated series, you can not miss a whole bunch of secondary characters. All of them have carefully crafted characters. Some of them have their skeletons buried in their closet. Take Pacifica Northwest, for example. At first glance, she seems like an arrogant bitch. But in one of the series you can find out that she is such only because of her parents and in her heart she is completely different.
(3) Atmosphere and spirit of adventure.
In this animated series, a very elaborate atmosphere of mystery and mystery. This prompts the characters to go looking for answers to the mysteries and secrets of the town. And throughout the cartoon there are exactly 2 questions: “Who is the author of the diaries?” and “Where did these anomalies and strange creatures appear in the vicinity of Gravity Falls?” And you also want to go looking for answers to these questions, but when you think that the answer is about to be found, the plot sometimes turns in the direction in which you do not even expect and you have to start all thinking and research again.
(4) References to popular culture.
Each series is full of different references, parodies and allusions to various films, books, musical compositions, etc. Also, the series is not afraid to refer to events that were before and that will be later.
It is a pity that this project has come to an end. But there is a happy moment – this project ended at the peak of its popularity. All the mysteries and secrets of Gravity Falls have been solved, summer has come to an end and Dipper and Mabel go back home to grow up. We can only believe that Wendy’s message will come true.
“I’ll see you next summer!”
Evaluation of this project is very difficult, because while it was going, we closely followed the fate of all the characters. It's even a pity to part with them. In the last episode, I cried over the ending. But still, I will give him the highest rating on this site, since there is no higher rating here.

Just recently I watched this vaunted animated series from Disney. Don't ask anyone, everyone called it a masterpiece. Gravity Falls, he had a crazy effect on me, and I walked away from him for a week. It was beautiful. I understand why he is so praised.
The animated series tells about the summer adventures of 12-year-old twins Dipper and Mabel in the remote town of Gravity Falls, where their parents exiled them on vacation. It seems that nothing interesting can happen in this place, but Dipper’s sixth sense insists that something is wrong with this city. Quite by chance, the boy falls into the hands of a mysterious diary in which an unknown author claims that Gravity Falls is the habitat of dwarves, unicorns, vampires and other magical creatures. And while the always optimistic sister glues boys, knits colored sweaters and meet people, Dipper begins to hunt monsters.
Characters, perhaps the main plus of the series.
Dipper is the main character of this masterpiece, a very smart and brave boy, there was nothing special in him, but he is cool anyway.
Mabel is the twin sister of a dipper, who has already made a real impression. She's so cheerful. Her optimism was transmitted to me and every time I saw her, the world became easier for me.
Stan is either an uncle or a grandfather. I still don't understand. It is associated with the lion’s share of all the humor of the series. From the beginning, he seems a tough, stale ass, but then he opens up and it becomes clear that there is no kinder person to find.
Soos -- I'm not going to say much about him. He made me very happy, too. Very funny guy.
I'm going to end with a character that made the biggest impression, a character that I'll remember for a long time. The main antagonist of the series. Bill Cypher.
Oh, he's so charismatic. He wants to destroy the universe. The madness emanating from it amazes, the creators managed to create one of the best villains in world culture.
Over. This is a very heartfelt series that will go purely to everyone, there is humor on top, characters, graphics. Children and older people will be satisfied. I advise everyone to start watching. This will not happen for a very long time.
The animated series Gravity Falls is another Disney cartoon designed for children 12 years old. Let’s look at the pros and cons.
Plot: Two children are looking for the mysteries of this world, or rather their city. What did you think was wrong? But let's take a closer look. As a leaflet, I chose the random (!) series Dipper vs. Masculinity. In the story, the main character needs to grow hair on his chest, which no longer sounds childish. Then he finds bulls and learns from them masculinity. I won’t tell you anymore, you know everything. In general, the series about the fact that... I didn't even get it. Nothing is clear, everything is blurry.
Animation: It seems that the animators did not want to work on animation. Just made bulging to the impossible eyes, thin hands and feet. Either I don’t understand anything about this “masterpiece of animation”, or it is.
Influence on children:Most likely, children will parody characters, which children often do after watching cartoons. Or rather: they are afraid of everything, behave inappropriately to the laws (just look at the main character of the cartoon, and you will understand everything), and so on, and so on.
Humor: Present, only mostly either unfunny jokes, or jokes too “wise”, as the children will say.
The result: with incomprehensible humor, bad plot and scary animation, the cartoon Gravity Falls does not deserve a good mark, which many put.
It seems like summer will not go away.
It seems like summer will not go away.
And now...
Now...
Once in the bowels of the Disney studio, someone inadvertently realized what the activities of the company and all those involved in the long run are fraught with. In the vague (and naive) hope of avoiding hellish cauldrons in the postmortem, one bright head gave the go-ahead for the production and broadcast of the animated series “Gravity Falls”, intending by this kind deed to beg for forgiveness at least to his sinful soul at the Last Judgment. The attempt, I must admit, succeeded.
Beautiful graphics and moderately good animation forcefully immerse the viewer in the western backwoods of one notorious compound of states. It was there, in the dense forests, that the title town “Gravity Fall” was located. The main characters - twin children Mabel and Dipper - are deported by tired parents to the care of their uncle Stan Pines, a clever crook, a cunning merchant and a quack trustee of the souvenir shop "Miracle Cabin". And then the heroes learn that it is in this scented town that the maximum concentration of the most real miracles is exceeded. After that, they regularly confront and fight.
The secret-material plot is abundantly interspersed with digestible (and sometimes funny) humor, which helps to reveal animated stereotypes. Here are Mr. Walking Encyclopedia (with a man-made directory under the armpit), and Grubiyan with a Good Heart, and Lady Idiocrity, and Big Good Guy, and Puberty Bitch (according to Deadpool’s classification), and Mascot Pig Poohl. There are also antagonists of varying degrees of antagonism, funny secondary characters, and many references to the products of mass culture. The studio blender, fed with the blood of innocent screenwriters, labored to fame, mixing all these ingredients into a spectacular mess.
In general, the whole meaning of this review boils down to one simple, one might even say primitive, thesis: one must look. And it is likely that at the end of the viewing will regret only one thing – that we will not see each other next summer.
9 out of 10
It seemed like an ordinary children's cartoon, which is played on Disney, without any semantic load. It didn't work out that way. Together with adventures and various mystical riddles that make it easy to view, the characters face completely ordinary everyday problems and raise rather non-childish questions.
- You guys never thought we were doing this out of boredom? We go into a fantasy world to avoid working on ourselves in the real world. Maybe it’s time to go out into the real world and just grow up?
With the ending, of course, Alex Hirsch fantasized like I did. But in general,
One of the usual Disney TV series about the adventures of two teenagers ... which is watched by not only children, but also adults. So why does Gravity Falls have such a stunning success?
First, the uncomplicated story of a mysterious anomalous place is presented with humor and a fair amount of sarcasm. Showing any next “monster” or simply demonstrating a standard situation from a bunch of similar films, the creator of the series Alex Hirsch simultaneously ridicules the cliches in a fabulously fantastic theme and the surrounding world. Take the first episode, where Mabel meets a mysterious guy in a hood and falls in love with him. What's not Twilight? And girls' favorite boy bands? If you want to know what your favorite heroes of the scene live, watch the series. Or Dipper’s desire to become courageous, which haunts many teenage boys, is also very well covered in Gravity Falls.
Second, beautifully written characters. Pines twins Dipper and Mabel are the main characters - Uncle Stan, who owns the Miracle Cabin, Gideon, who dreams of harming the hated Pines, and, of course, the main antagonist - the one-eyed yellow triangle Bill Cipher - the demon of reason. Each hero in his place, each has a clearly drawn character and his place in the plot.
Thirdly, a memorable musical accompaniment. The simple melody of the screensaver is tied for a long time, and the soundtracks from the last series of the second season cause goosebumps.
Fourth, riddles scattered throughout the series, and at the end of each series of inquisitive viewers waiting for an encrypted phrase. I haven't figured it out myself, but I admit it's a genius idea to get even more attention.
The diary found by Dipper partly clarifies the situation, but one has only to think: “Oh, I know how this will end!”, as in the process it turns out that you know something, but still smile with delight that everything is presented so interesting. The series is also liked by adults due to the fact that it briefly returns to childhood, when the biggest problem for the hero was the triangle that broke free with a cane and in the cylinder.
I’ve watched a lot of children’s and adolescent animated series, which are of interest not only to children and teenagers, but even to those who are 18 years old. This is the phantasmagoric “Adventure Time”, and “May Little Pony”, from which the guys are fanatic, and “Ordinary Cartoon”, and much more. But none of them can compare to such a wonderful, so attractive, so interesting animated series as Gravity Falls. It's not just an animated series, it's a masterpiece.
The main characters of the animated series are the girl Mabel Pines, carefree and spoiled, thinking about nothing but finding herself the right guy and living in pleasure; and, as you guessed it, her brother Dipper Pines, a prodigy who is fond of any paranormal and solves such complex mysteries and mysteries that will seem difficult even to Einstein. They come to Stanley Pines’ grandfather on vacation, the owner of the Wonder Shop, and do what children do on summer holidays. At some point, Dipper and Mabel realize that Gravity Falls is not a simple city, it has all sorts of anomaly: talking dwarfs, zombies, ghosts, lively monuments. And most interestingly, it all has to do with one thing. But who is he? Could it be a mad scientist who created all these creatures to avenge the past? Or maybe it’s not a human at all, but some alien from distant planets or a monster living in Gravity Falls for 1000 years? Who knows. Fortunately, there is a diary, not even one, but three, which tells about all this paranormal and how to protect yourself from it. The question remains, who is the author of these journals? To find out this question, you have to explore this mysterious city as a whole, find artifacts and investigate the caches, what, in fact, Dipper is doing, simultaneously finding friends and enemies and getting into various troubles and hopeless situations, but getting out of them whole and unharmed. With the help of his ingenuity and not without the help of his family and friends.
What can I say? The animated series is wonderful. In each series, we will answer all the questions concerning this mysterious town and all those who live in it. Simultaneously laughing at different ridiculous situations of different characters, most often Dipper and Mabel, and at the same time worrying about them. I was also pleased that in some episodes there are references to pop culture, mass media and good old horror films, such as Twin Peaks, The Shining and others. I really like the music from the beginning.

P.S. One of the series of Gravity Falls reminds me of the film Paseca, made by the studio Nomfilm. What's this series? It's a secret. If you’ve watched the entire series, you’ll know.
This attic is gorgeous! Check out all my calluses!
At first, I was skipping the show, and I couldn’t understand why so many people were crazy about it. I would've gone around it if I hadn't come across Seyenduk's translation. The voice of this friend I loved after 'Rick and Morty'. Now I am a fan of this amazing series!
The series takes the bar with its characters, the atmosphere. But all in order.
The creator of the series, Alex Hirsch, came up with it based on his childhood, and most of the characters are invented from his memories.
Dipper is an ordinary guy, not stupid, not naive. However, it is he who corrects all the disasters that occur around him (in some cases, these disasters happen because of him). The determination and perseverance of the guy, you can only envy.
Mabel is Dipper's twin sister, and the main highlight of the series. It's from Hirsch's sister. It seems to be made of positivity and fun. Not as smart as her brother, but sometimes it's her frivolity that comes to the rescue. Loves sweaters and changes them every new series.
Stan is another highlight of the series. A big crook and a crook, no fool to fight. He can fool anyone, but it is very difficult to fool Stan himself. He thinks all the people in Gravity Falls are stupid, and he's not far from the truth. Owner of the famous ' hut of secrets ' which is engaged in what cheats tourists. However, this is only one side of the coin. In fact, the uncle has a very complicated history, and is not who he seems. He has skeletons in his closet that he never dreamed of. And his sentences in three Colombian prisons are not the worst yet.
So different people, what brings them together? That they're family. They stand behind each other on a mountain.
These are the main characters!
Sousse works for Stan. Big, stupid, but kind. She lives with her grandmother. Despite its stupidity, it can help with very good advice. And if the council doesn't help, they can use their fists. It is also very vulnerable.
Wendy is a pretty teenage girl Dipper is in love with. He also works for Stan and does nothing all day. And she likes it. The daughter of a brutal woodcutter who taught his children to survive, and it's noticeable. A dexterous, combative friend with whom you should at least go to reconnaissance. She's got a lot of boyfriends, a lot of dumps, and the rest she just forgot to sew. Constantly on raslabon, but only in appearance.
Each character in the series is unique, even if inconspicuous. There is only one thing to do: laugh.
I’m not talking about the atmosphere!
Already in the first series, Alex Hirsch makes it clear that if you are hoping for another series with beautiful vampires, and a love story, you have the wrong address. It is like ridiculing the modern ideals of teenagers!
Love 'Twilight' with sugary vampires and werewolves? Instead of a handsome vampire, you get a bunch of gnomes who are real assholes. And instead of a werewolf, you get an ordinary postman, even a hairy one. Sousse thinks he's a werewolf, by the way.
Do you love unicorns who know how to wizard and teach good things? But you get unicorns-scumbags who can only pose near the rainbow, and mock people (for which they will receive a lulu from Mabel).
Even the city itself plays a role in the series. It was discovered by a mad president, there is a secret society. The whole city just brings surprise after surprise.
Each new series begins to wait for a trick, and you get - from the most unexpected side.
Twelve-year-old heroes are constantly faced with adult problems. Love, family breakdown. How can children solve these problems? Just childish. They try to fix everything and often only aggravate the situation.
The series shows that the project was carefully thought out at the development stage. Minor things and dialogue from the first season play a big role in the second. This kind of thinking is very rare now.
In general, if you postponed watching Gravity Falls, sit down to watch immediately. You won’t see such a great animated series for a long time! This is a breath of fresh air.
And although the series is short (only 2 seasons), but it manages to tell the story, and shake up so many times that it can not make a series with 10 seasons.
Gravity Falls is my favorite animated series. It’s not even a TV series but a cartoon!
I remember last year I thought it was another kid vs. Cat raving, but it wasn't! I watched the entire Gravity Falls series from beginning to end. And I was very disappointed to learn that the 20th episode of the second season is the last. But in the group Vkontakte Entertainment Time with Gravity Falls everyone writes that the 1st episode of the third season will be released this year on August 1 on the English television DisneyXD. Now for the heroes:
Dipper-Botanic and his sister's brother Mabel want to explore all the secrets of Gravity Falls. Smiled in what ways he wanted to be a man in the sixth episode of the first season.
Mabel-Jolly is even Dipper's slightly stupid sister. She was born 20 minutes earlier than her brother, and therefore a millimeter taller than him. At war with Pacifica.
Stan is Dipper and Mabel's uncle. Owner of the Miracle Hut. Hiding the terrible truth from the children.
Sousse is a very funny fat guy, a big fan of Stan. Works in the Cabin of miracles and loves to have fun with Dipper and Mabel.
Wendy is a 15-year-old teenage girl. It is to her that Dipper wants to confess his love. But he has a rival who also loves Wendy. 15-year-old bore Robie.
Mabel Pig Puff. She won it in the fifth episode of the first season.
Finally, my favorite character!
Bill Cipher, a triangular yellow demon with one eye, wants to destroy our entire universe in the last three episodes of the series, staging hell in Gravity Falls.
As a result, Gravity Falls is a very good cartoon from forty episodes. Good for the evening viewing!
Who would have thought that even a very successful but animated series could make me adore it and for the first time, after the official and logically completed plot of the series, I fundamentally disagree with the creator - I want a lot more of this crazy splendor. I have mastered all 40 episodes in 6 days and now I am ready to share my opinion, developed in the reasons to watch and continue this wonderful animated series.
1) This is an amazing drawing. I'll start with a simple one, because they meet on clothes. The animation here is not rusty-eyed, the elaboration of details and the background is fascinating, it is pleasant to look at the characters. Some monsters are drawn to the smallest detail, including quite violent moments. That's pretty cool!
2) Screenplay and dialogue. The most difficult thing in a “children’s” cartoon is, in addition to a beautiful and attractive picture, to create an interesting story that would give children the opportunity to think. The dialogue is just amazing, there is no feeling that the writers consider the viewer an idiot, all within the limits of reasonable and permissible. Many adults will find something for themselves.
3 The main characters. I never thought that one day after Firefly I would be able to feel a family aura in the team, everything is so joyful, the relationship in the group is almost at the family level, each is ready to give his life for the other. Cousin Stan very quickly won the love of the audience - charming, greedy, strict and rude, but sensitive and with a heart of gold (again, the title of one series of Firefly). Dipper and Mabel are wonderful twins who complement each other – Dipper is reasonable, intelligent and curious, and Mabel is a complete optimist, fools as often as she can and mutually adores her brother, even if she does not always agree with him. Wendy is a local outcast, with a complex character, but a kind and vulnerable soul. Sousse is a typical stupid character who is actually much smarter, ready to stand up for friends at the right moment. And all the rest are well remembered and good jokes.
4 Humor. Perhaps another difficult feature of cartoons. Humor here at a very decent level, there are adult jokes, and understandable to everyone. Humor is not flat, not complicated, not black, not below the belt - it is the way it should be, and almost every character here (including villains) has its own unique style, observing and not violating certain boundaries.
55) Villains and monsters. A great set of diverse villains who are not averse to smear / destroy / humiliate / crush / destroy our heroes in a variety of ways, including supernatural. Baby Gideon has the features of a 10-year-old child, Bill Schifer is the embodiment of evil, Pacifica Norfwest is a typical blonde bitch, and a bunch of dwarves are just funny. But my favorite, though not the main one, is Shapeshifter (or Turner), who showed a really scary side to Gravity Falls, portrayed as a terrible thing (very similar to the 1982 film of the same name).
6 Mysteries. Perhaps the biggest reason. The entire animated series is filled with supernatural things, references, riddles, miracles and magical creatures. Some are a series, others are almost a series. And this process of solving codes is truly fascinating. Moreover, you can observe all sorts of signs and instructions in the early series, and the essence is revealed later. This part is just perfect.
7) Specific episodes. There are some series that are very average, but for the sake of some episodes, with quality far above others, they are worth watching. Terminator, Supergel, Gotham Season 1, first 3 seasons of Breaking Bad. And here is a very not bad series full of just masterpiece series - 1,20, 2.2, 2.11, 2.12, 2.18, 2.20.
I also want to mention the dubbing – it’s good. Let some of the references spoiled, but it is very nice that the cartoon is considered worthy of spending money on duplicate translation. I will also mention the last 3 episodes. This denouement and an extremely successful finale are simply furiously shocking. Behaviors, motives, actions - everything is very correct and logical. And even in the final it is very sad, but you are happy for the heroes, for their matured mind. It's a shame that summer ended so quickly. The first season 10/10 and the second season 10+/10. The series as a whole
"Gravity Falls" I treated at first with suspicion, as well as to any hyped, fashionable thing. Not the last role in this was played by a kind of drawing of the cartoon - recently I watch only anime from animation, and I am used to a more realistic style. However, my skepticism was not long enough. The first series convinced me that before me at least a curious work. And now, having looked to the end, I have every right to call it a masterpiece. To be honest, I have a dual attitude towards Western animation. As a child, of course, I liked long series about brutal superheroes more than Soviet cartoons, mostly funky and edifying and focused on toddlers. Now, after years and after getting acquainted with the anime, Western animation, with rare exceptions, looks like a monotonous stamping, adapting to the mass audience the history of comics, which in the original did not always shine with the plot and meaning. On the contrary, Soviet cartoonists, unlike most American cartoonists, at least experimented with form - censorship sometimes interfered with experimentation with content. In the West, everything was led by a commercial format - here's Disney, here's Nickelodeon, here's Marvel, and here's DC. And just Disney, which I considered the most hopelessly formatted studio, unexpectedly surprised. And it would be worth, in fact, to recall childhood and "Black Cloak" - an excellent parody of superhero epics. Yes, in fact, Disney multipliers can do interesting things. By the way, for some reason noticed - the series at Disney come out much more interesting full-length tracks. If in the latter - pathos, sweetness and annoying singing characters, then in the first - interesting plots and excellent humor, understandable, however, for the most part, only to an adult viewer, because it is based on parody of films and books. But "Gravity Falls" stands out even from a string of the studio's best series. This is a unique, author's project. Producer and screenwriter Alex Hirsch had to fight a lot with Disney management to make the series come out the way it was intended. And he succeeded - before us it is a teenager, not a child, witty, sometimes creepy, sometimes very serious, sometimes to a wild frenzy funny cartoon. The plot, it seems, is not new at all. Brother and sister, twelve-year-old twins Dipper and Mabel, come to rest for the summer in the small town of Gravity Falls to their uncle Stan. And the town, it turns out, is not at all simple... well, it is just full of paranormal and devilishness! Well, what twelve-year-old does not want to reveal all the secrets of the mystical Gravity Falls? Yes, fantastic “romances of growing up” dedicated to summer holidays, traditional for American literature, remember at least “Dandelion Wine” Bradbury. Yes, the “strange lost town” is already a stamp of the genre of mystical series, starting with the cult “Twin Peaks”. So what? It is important not only from what, but also how the dish is prepared. It's perfectly cooked. “Gravity Falls” is called “Twin Peaks for children”, but it is more like “Lost” – the complexity of the world and the complexity of intrigue. And it's not complexity for the sake of complexity - every detail, every detail in the series is important. Hirsch didn't hang a single unloaded gun - even the odd shadows in the background could prove to be a hidden "spoiler" of subsequent events. No wonder I mentioned “Black Cloak” – “Gravity Falls” also has enough parodies and postmodern games with quotes. By the way, I stopped watching Lost, but I heard that its creators “merged” the last season. So, with “Gravity Falls” this did not happen – the puzzle of Alex Hirsch was perfect. However, this cartoon was originally planned as a complete, integral work. Praise the creators of the series and the characters. I liked Uncle Stan the most, probably because of his ambiguity. (However, the black-and-white worldview of Gravity Falls does not suffer - in each of the residents of the city, no matter how it may seem, there is always something good.) But in general - great all the heroes, which, by the way, a considerable number. (At first, though, Gideon was very annoying - but probably it was planned?) What is Gravity Falls? This is the story of one important summer that almost everyone had in childhood - the summer between childhood and adolescence, when you still know so little about life, but you are already beginning to understand much. A tale of friendship, first love, courage. About self-sacrifice, and about the need to appreciate your loved ones. A real magical story about a small town where miracles happen. Bottom line: it seems that we have witnessed how in our time was created one of the best animated series in history. I recommend Gravity Falls to anyone who is not hopelessly grown up, who still remembers what it is to be twelve and believes in miracles. 10 out of 10 Original
In general, I love cartoons, including the creations of Disney, but most of them are full-length, I have not actually watched the animated series (except from old memory). Because so long and especially did not want to watch “Gravity Falls”, although he heard it almost from the moment of appearance in our vast in 2013, but only in that year it opened to me in all its glory and I myself was surprised that it took so long. Well, if it wasn't for my friend, I would have stayed in the dark longer.
And so I saw what perhaps I could not imagine at all and without a doubt called Gravity the best multi-part animated film in the history of Disney.
Alex Hirsch really invested in his brainchild not only originality, but also life and soul, since he created the series from his own childhood memories from a trip to his uncle with his twin sister (it is easy to guess who Dipper and Mabel were drawn from).
The whole robot Hirsch and his colleagues was aimed at entertaining the spectator, showing him a new interesting story, which has no infinity, but a certain beginning and ending. For this, Hirsch needs to say a huge thank you, he did not make a thrust with an infinite number of series, as was inherent in Disney animated series of the 90s-00s, did not make a cartoon solely for profit and raise the rating of the channel. There are 2 seasons, the action of which develops during one summer, and each series is related from the first to the last, and this is the first main positive feature of the cartoon.
The second main positive feature is the heroes, in whom you can not help falling in love, not only in the positive, but even in the negative. Purposeful Dipper, cheerful Mabel, selfish in the beginning, but characteristically revealed in the course of actions of Uncle Stan, responsive Sousse and brave Wendy - these characters will be in the minds of all who look at the mention of family, love and devotion to each other.
The cartoon is amazing, definitely, but it is perhaps worth watching for children not from the distant +6 years, but from 10-12 years, since it not only appears quite frightening small monsters, as well as relationships between people and hidden a lot of morality, understandable mainly in a conscious age.
It is worth mentioning the translation and voiceover on our great and powerful: the dubbing was good, but we can not but praise and thank for the translation and voiceover of Dmitry Syenduk, thanks to which many dialogues were almost original, with small improvisations, and one of his voice, voiced all with a suitable intonation, was inimitable!
Excellent hand-drawn animation, beautiful humor and parodies, dialogues that can be seized on quotes, the search for mysteries and answers to them, a single storyline and the ending from which you rejoice and cry.
If you’ve ever driven through the Pacific Northwest, you’ve probably seen a bumper sticker called “Gravity Falls.” This place is not on the maps and most have never heard of it. Some people think it’s a myth, but if you’re curious, don’t wait. Find this place. It's out there in the woods... And it's waiting for you. (c)
Yes, Alex Hirsch created a real hit, which in the world of animation in decades among all the ordinary 3D genres will look like a masterpiece. Come on, what not to praise again, he is a masterpiece today in all articles!
This is a series that needs no introduction. The animated series, which from the first episodes manages to hook the viewer of any age category. Something that must please the lover of animation. This is a masterpiece of recent years.
It’s been about six months since I watched both seasons, but I still keep the bright images of the characters in my heart.
Dipper is a curious, intelligent and somewhat funny boy who dreams of universal recognition. He often faces problems with puberty.
Mabel is a cheerful, kind, energetic and optimistic twin sister of Dipper. Throughout the series is in search of “the same” and expects from this summer something unforgettable.
Stanley is the cousin of Dipper and Mabel. Behind rudeness and selfishness lies boundless love for relatives, tries to hide their feelings. The owner of the trap for tourists - "Secret Cabins".
Wendy, a brave teenage girl, is the object of Dipper’s sighing. He spends a lot of time at parties with his company. Working part-time at Stanley's gift shop. Hardy and sweet.
Sousse is a simple-minded big guy, a friend of Dipper and Mabel, to whom he always comes to the rescue. A permanent employee of the Cabin. He has several talents.
The creators discovered the formula of the perfect product - fun, stupidity, excitement, morality - all left to us in remarkable proportions and no frills.
Boy, your little knees must be sore from jumping to conclusions!

You know, in our world, it is not news when animators dilute their work with not childish jokes and references. There is an Easter egg, there is a character written off by a famous historical figure - adults have long been accustomed to this game and appreciate these winks of bearded men who took to amuse their young children.
There are plenty of winks here. Men in Black, Throne, Myths of Cthulhku, Journey to the Center of the Earth ... that no series here is a successful reference to some famous work, masterfully woven into the cozy world of the small town of Gravity Falls.
But more importantly, Alex Hirsch is the cornerstone of the story, making longing for a passing summer, and for older viewers it quickly turns into a metaphor for longing for a departing childhood.
Here we come to another advantage of the series – never trying to give your cartoon the status of a “highly intelligent product”. Hirsch does not hold his viewers for idiots, laying out here and there riddles that shed light on the further events of the series. Also, he is not afraid to talk with them on really difficult topics (I’m just about “the longing for a passing childhood”), and this is expensive and favorably distinguishes him from many other TV series, whose educational goal is solely to promote eternal values (which in itself is not bad, of course).
Infinitely beautiful, extremely deep, funny and must-see by the viewer of any age, especially those who miss “that summer”. I want to erase my memory and see it again.
Unconditional
Here and ended my favorite series Gravity Falls. He will stay in my heart forever...forever!
Once, in between the computer and the street, I watched the Disney Channel and simple animated series. But soon I began to notice one very interesting, funny and intriguing animated series called Gravity Falls. I quickly fell in love with the characters and the story. The theme of the series was one of my favorite — in one word, fantastic.
Pleasant animation, wonderful characters, the best plot and very good jokes can attract a simple viewer – both a child and an adult. And adults to watch the series will be attracted not by adult jokes, Easter eggs and references, but by the message, meaning, questions asked in the series. Trust in the family, sacrificing your happiness for the sake of another person close to you, love – these are the important issues raised in the series.
Dipper and Mabel are twins, different but somewhat similar main characters come for the summer to their Uncle Stan - a crook (simply put), who turned his hut into a Cabin of Miracles, where he exhibits only fakes, at least to rip money from stupid buyers and tourists. In the hut work Soos (at first glance, it seems just a stupid overgrown) and Wendy (16-year-old girl). Soos keeps everyone amusing, and Wendy comes up with something cool. In the forest, Dipper finds a diary that describes all the secrets of the town of Gravity Falls, and begins to investigate them and learns that all this is not fiction, and Gravity Falls is indeed an unusual town. But the main mystery of the diary is its author, who disappeared 30 years ago. With each series, the series becomes more serious, darker and more interesting. Sooth begins to seem not so stupid after all, and Uncle Stan remains a crook, but with a loving heart, which as it turns out can not be trusted.
The series is filled with all sorts of riddles, codes and ciphers, multiple Easter eggs and references. For someone to unravel all these ciphers and codes - once spit, and someone long to work on it.
In the series in the second season, one of the most charismatic and interesting villains appears, who can stand on a par with the Joker - Bill Schifer. The one who keeps most of the weirdness in the series. He then gives Gideon (season 1 antagonist) deer teeth, then gives Dipper an ever-sharp head, then changes places all the holes on his face (his craziest trick). In general, people unfamiliar with GF may be surprised by the fact that the main villain in the series is the yellow triangle - the demon of reason. But the trick of the series is its strangeness. For example, there are gnomes puking in the rainbow!
But a lot of people already know that. Gravity Falls is truly a masterpiece cartoon. And the most important thing in it, as I consider neither the plot nor the characters, but the atmosphere! When I think of Gravity Falls, the first thing I think of is the atmosphere of the show, and then the characters, the plot. But that doesn’t mean you don’t care about everything else, no. This is where the atmosphere comes in. In Gravity Falls, there are many moments that make you worry, think, squeeze into a chair. In Season 2, Episode 11, during the opening of the portal, you constantly rush from side to side, not knowing who is right: Dipper or Mabel? When Mabel is the only one who can turn off the portal, Dipper persuades her to turn off the portal, because it can destroy the universe, and Uncle Stan says a phrase that still gives me goosebumps: "Look in my eyes, Mabel." Do you really think I'm a villain? Everything I’ve worked on and thought about, it’s all for the family!, that’s when he becomes a truly loving and dear person. He would do anything for his family.
But in the middle of Season 2, I'm sitting more and more at my computer and forgetting about Gravity Falls. And then I see episode 18, the finale. I'm waiting for 19, which is also a moment where I'm ready to almost cry. And here comes the final 20 episode, which I watch with a friend in English, as soon as it appears. And the ending makes me shed tears. That’s what it means to create a show that goes straight into your heart and stays there forever. This is what it means to create a series that will make you cry!
There are not enough words, time, or anything to thank Alex Hirsch for creating it. Having met this person in life, the first thing I would do is cry, hug and say thank you. And I did the right thing by finishing the series on season two. This is better than continuing the series and making it worse. Of course, I want to continue, but it is better in a full-length film.
Thank you to Alex Hirsch for the series and emotions. I want his next creation to be the same as Gravity Falls.
I will never forget Gravity Falls, I will never forget Dipper, Mabel, Stan, Wendy and Soos, I will never forget Bill, I will never forget the main musical theme of the series, I will always remember him.

Gravity Falls is something I absolutely didn't expect from Disney. Familiarity with this series was strange for me: I came across it a couple of times on the TV channel, but invariably switched without watching 5 minutes. The only time I watched it was longer on TV. The series was not one of the best and after watching, I just thought that this is another Disney conveyor creation to entertain American (and not only) children. I watched a few more episodes later. And it was worth it.
For starters, heroes. In principle, there is nothing unusual in them: a pair of twins do not spill the water with their teenage problems, their uncle-swindler Stan and his subordinates are a little stupid Soose and Wendy - a slightly flimsy teenage girl. However, with each series, new facets of the characters open up, we learn something new and sometimes unexpected about them, they have some charm and charisma that make them sympathize and worry for them. The characters are worked out in detail and each of them has an individuality. It's very gratifying. All of them become family for two seasons almost from the beginning: crazy Mabel with her strange jokes and positivity; struggling to seem serious Dipper, dreaming to deal with the secrets of the town; Sousse, obsessed with his work, a bit goofy, but so funny, revering Stan as a deity; Stan with his scams and grumbling, but still a loving and attentive uncle and, of course, Wendy is the only girl in the house with a lumberjack dad and a bunch of brothers, raised in the spirit of a hunter, but all the time remaining a girl with her maiden problems. later on the horizon there is an all-knowing Ford - a former reclusive, obsessed with his work and research, but gradually imbued with sympathy for children and others and, of course, Bill - a brilliant evil deity about whom you can write a lot, as he becomes the biggest mystery of the series. But to describe it in a few words: witty madness with all the ensuing. It makes a truly indelible impression on the viewer.
Characters of the second plan are also well thought out, all have their own characteristics, some characters get a good development (the same Pacifica gradually changes in the process of communicating with the main characters) and cause mostly positive emotions with all its features. Everyone finds a response. All fictional characters are also sometimes pleasing. Not so much his personality as a surprise, the same multi-bear. When I saw it for the first time, I was shocked, but this flight of fantasy of the creators, of course, invaluable. Or a huge gnome of dwarves and minotaurs - these are also those finds, like many others. Oh, and unicorns, how could I forget about them - it's just a miracle, on this series I laughed most.
The first season impressed me less. Yes, the plot, in general, was interesting, but in the beginning it was not given much attention. The series were quite monotonous in terms of development: the hero has some problem of a personal nature (most often quite childish and not too serious, but this is a series for children - it is natural and there is no sense to scold for it), he encounters (accidentally or deliberately) with some unknown supernatural force, and this force helps him somehow cope with the crisis, leading to the necessary conclusions. Nothing unusual or complicated. The first season was more of a children's show than it was at the end. Quite funny and frivolous, but addictive and leaving positive emotions.
The second season is getting more thorough. Not immediately, but there is already a noticeable storyline that connects the series with each other. And the series themselves become more serious and mature, as well as some of the problems of the characters. the intermediate culmination in the appearance of Ford for me personally was a complete surprise and especially pleased that they revealed more character of the characters, showing the background of events. And the so-called Weird Geddon, to which everything ultimately comes through the fault of the character - this is generally an amazing thing. Watching each episode, all I thought about was how these people had enough imagination for such insanity. In general, the second season made it clear that the series is developing, and the creators are ready for a lot and, perhaps, will give us another equally wonderful series in the future.
Separately pleased with the fact that there are puzzles in the series. Honestly, I wasn’t trying to solve these puzzles and find them in the series, but I think someday I’ll revisit this series solely for this purpose, because this idea of combining entertainment with child development impressed me. Not everyone is able to embody this format, for which it is worth paying tribute to the studio as a whole, and Alex Hirsch in particular, for what he decided and did.
Humor is also a separate subject. In some places it is so strange that one laughs simply from the absurdity of what is said or shown. Yes, there are not very successful jokes or not understandable to our mentality, sometimes even vulgar, sometimes too stupid and childish, sometimes just unexpected, but in general they create just a unique atmosphere. This series is ridiculous even stupid. Some things and actions can be completely inconsistent or unexpected, so much so that they cause no other reaction than laughter. But, again, that humor is quite specific: someone likes, someone does not, and someone, like me, half.
You can talk about this series for a long time and a lot. Gravity Falls is, as I said, a completely unexpected series for Disney, and that made it a gem. Moderately loose and funny, but sometimes serious and instructive. He professes the unity and inseparability of family ties and friendship. In general, I really liked this series and will probably remain for a long time one of the best creations of this company and, moreover, probably more than once I will want to remember it and review it. Without remorse, I can advise him to everyone. Just look at it and form your opinion. Separately pleased that the series was not put on the conveyor. It’s always sad to say goodbye to your favorite heroes, but it’s best to finish it while it’s still good.
And, despite some shortcomings, I consider the series worthy.

In February of this year ended one of the best animated series “Gravity Falls”. I didn’t want to watch the show, but my friends recommended it and said it would take a long time. And they were right!
The action takes place in the summer, in the town of Gravity Falls in Oregon, where the twins Dipper and Mabel Pines go on vacation to their great-uncle Stan. Dipper accidentally finds a diary about all the secrets of Gravity Falls. And here begins the most interesting... The plot of the show is very interesting, you watch each series with great interest. There are good jokes in Gravity Falls that can make kids and adults laugh. The characters are well worked out, you empathize with the main characters. Almost all the characters are charming: Dipper, Maybr, Sousse, great-uncle Stan, etc. The mystery of the show is interesting to solve. In general, Gravity Falls is a big plus. I can only say that the second season is much stronger than the first. I don’t mean the first season is bad, both seasons are good, but the second season is a little bit better. I really like the message of some series. For a "children's" show, it's very brave.
Of course, it’s a pity that the animated series ended, but it’s better than sucking ideas out of your finger. It ended at the peak of its popularity. And that's good, even if it's sad.
The Northwest of the United States, famous for its remote forests, rainy weather and picturesque mountains, has already firmly entered the consciousness of the viewer, as a mystical land, shrouded in all sorts of legends and riddles, originating from the days of the Indian tribes and the first settlers. It was here that director David Lynch was born and spent his childhood, whose most famous movie project “Twin Peaks” is unfolding in this area. And I remember it for a reason.
In fact, the comparison of "Gravity Falls" and "Twin Peaks" is far from accidental, because in fact, in both works the central character is the city, with its unusual inhabitants, their secrets and mysteries, and the similar geographical location only enhances the mystical effect. It is also worth noting the fact that I am not an absolute fan of animation, but the rating of 8.8, as well as numerous praise reviews, caused me a keen interest in this series, which I watched in one breath, and do not regret it at all. Now, in order:
Who is this series for?
Most likely, according to the author’s idea, the series is addressed to teenagers 12-14 years old, but will also be interesting for adults, because there is a plot, characters and humor, which by the way is not at all childish, with such a “double bottom”, where every age will laugh at how he understood it. And the series about the mayoral election and the line of ambiguous, too close and close relations between the two colleagues-police officers throughout the series, so generally focused on the adult audience. In summary, I can say that ideally, this series should be watched by school-age children with their parents. It will be interesting for everyone.
What does he say?
About friendship, about relationships, about promises, about mutual assistance, about ordinary human values. Not everything in the world should be divided into black and white. That is why, once again, the picture will be “in the box office” for teenagers, with their youthful maximalism and the desire to paint everything in black and white, due to their age. The mystical setting of the picture, just scenery, in order to advantageously, clearly and tastefully disclose these topics.
Who will like it?
All: Or almost everyone. Special pleasure will be given to film lovers who are fond of mystical history. Here for them just paradise, because the series is permeated with numerous allusions and references not only to the aforementioned Twin Peaks , but also to such cult paintings as "X-files", "LOST", "Twilight zone". Separately, I want to note references to another, hotly loved by me animated series "The Politer Mouse" ( 12 oz. Mouse), because the concentration of mysticism and riddles he can quite compare with him, especially since the main antagonist Bill Cypher is a two-dimensional triangle that exists only in consciousness - so it is generally a direct allusion to the Square Businessman (Rectangular Businessman) who is also the main villain in the Polliter Mouse.
Everything is good in this picture: setting, characters, plot, message, music, and of course drawing from the Korean studio Rough Draft, known for working on the animated series FUTURAMA, which in fact is not something out of the ordinary, but advantageously balances all the positive aspects of this series.
The ending is certainly good. After watching, I really want to continue, but if you judge, you understand that the director Alex Hirsch, who said that the 3rd season will not be, in his rights. The picture is finished in the best way, and nothing is needed to add to it. I have only one wish - that in the future the animated series will be filmed in the form of a film!
And finally, advice for those who decided to watch "Gravity Falls" for the first time:
All the fun begins in the second season ;
10 out of 10
That’s the end of Gravity Falls, a bizarre, mysterious and amazing animated series that I think is Disney’s best creation in years. It is a shame, of course, that the creator of the cartoon Alex Hirsch decided to finish it for the second season. I am ready to bet: this man’s imagination would be enough for more than a dozen episodes, but what is done is done, and I cannot change it, and I have no right to blame Hirsch for his decision. I'm sure he wanted the best.
I’m not going to talk about the end of the series. I’ll tell you more about the project itself. What made me so interested in him?
First of all, the plot. At first, he, however, seems quite banal, because the bundle is extremely simple: two twins - a reasonable, but somewhat introverted boy Dipper and a cheerful and open girl Mabel - come for summer holidays in the small quiet town of Grivity Falls to their cousin (in my opinion, this is the kind of relative they have, but I can be mistaken). Stan. And at first it seems to the viewer that he will see another version of Phineas and Ferb in the style of “how we spent this summer, building all sorts of cumbersome and complex stuff.” But no. The series from the first series goes on a completely different path, no one has yet laid. After all, at a certain point, a curious Dipper finds a strange old diary in which it is reported that the town of Gravity Falls is actually not as simple as it seems, and in reality is inhabited by all sorts of amazing monsters.
From this moment, the action does not stop for a second, it rushes up like a spurred horse, and the plot becomes more twisted than in most cool detectives. Further, it remains only to give a diva how many little things and Easter eggs were able to shove the creators into their not very long creation, because in each series there are ciphers and codes that the viewer is invited to unravel, there are all sorts of clues hinting at how the plot will develop in the future. Moreover, it is incredibly difficult to notice all this at the first viewing, so many review the series again and again to find as many Easter eggs as possible and unravel as many secrets as possible.
But, despite the fact that the small details and details in the cartoon worked out perfectly, it should be noted that the sets for some episodes (especially similar is typical for the first season, the second in this regard significantly wins), unfortunately, quite banal, and they could be observed more than once or twice in various Disney animated series, including, and in the above-mentioned “Fines and Ferbet”.
However, as they say, let’s not talk about sadness. We will continue to analyze the advantages of the project. So, the second absolute advantage of the series, in addition to the plot, are characters. All of them are very detailed and detailed. And this applies not only to the main characters, that is, in fact, twins, but also secondary ones. There are whole separate series that are entirely dedicated to some minor characters of the tape, like Zus Ramirez or Pacifica Northwest. These episodes are intended, so to speak, to reveal the characters of these characters, to show that it is not worth judging a book by its cover, and that in fact they are not at all what we originally imagined them to be.
Another advantage is animation. She's in the animated series at the highest level. Everything is just magnificent and very detailed. And I don’t have much more to add here – you’ll see it when you look. The main thing is that you will definitely be satisfied with the visual part.
Also, I can’t help but mention the soundtrack. He's very pleasant and memorable. Especially the famous tune that sounds at the beginning of each series. It’s just gorgeous and you’ll never get bored no matter how much you watch the episodes. I got stuck on it, listening to it in a bunch of different arrangements - I liked it so much.
All I have to do is make an obvious conclusion. The series is just great, if not masterpiece. A project of this scale, we on the Disney TV channel, most likely, will not see for a long time. So quite deservedly, despite some of the above-mentioned shoals, which when viewing are not even particularly striking, the cartoon receives from me.

Every story has to be told in its own way. There are cheerful and good, there are dark and evil. Some teach us something, some exist just for fun. Some tell us, others tell us. Some come from childhood memories, fall into the soul and warm their warmth. Others make you wake up at night and scream, but such fairy tales also fall into the soul.
What does it take to come up with a true story? Just a little. The head and imagination are in it. Of course, many people can hardly combine one with another, but, if it turns out, very good works are born, forcing a new look at the world around them. And yes, without a bit of pathos in the fairy tale, unfortunately, can not do.
Uncle Stan lives on the edge of the forest in a very steep hut, where different miracles take on a completely different meaning. The head of a fish glued to the body of a hare with an ostrich tail. Stanley Pines is an extremely ignorant, aggressive and smells bad, but no one else in this seedy town knows how to make money with such quirks as him. However, under the mask of the old grumpy and boring hides a much wiser, honest and loving uncle, who is always ready to help.
A fat dude in a baseball cap and a greasy T-shirt is called Soos (most likely Mexican). He works part-time for Mr. Pines, and this guy is a master of all trades. To fix the light bulb is to him, to clean the yard after another bright performance of Stanley - too he, to find a secret door to the basement ... Oops, that's too much.
And then there's Wendy's shabby girl. She is a teenager and like all teenagers likes to burn and hang out. But beneath her winter hat lies a true friend, loyal and kind. It is fun, like everything in this city (except, probably, Gideon, although ...) and perhaps someone will make a fuss with it.
The city itself is surrounded by giant firs and pine trees, as if descended from the pages of a town in northern Washington, where unusual creatures are found in gloomy and dark alleys where sunlight does not look. Some of them arouse genuine interest in themselves, while others try to devour them as soon as they see them. This forest, like the town around, hides many secrets and mysteries, ranging from a strange lair in the forest and ending with unusual diaries that reveal some of the secrets of this place.
Here you should always be on the lookout, remember that everything is not what it seems, that any action or person you meet is not just a mad inventor or an urban onlooker. That all your actions will be of great importance in the future and can affect not only your life, but the life of the whole town.
But all these oddities are just a veil, behind which lies a secret much more interesting and larger than the little forest gnomes or nose hair of Uncle Stan. This secret goes far into the past and a little into the future. It is this secret that must be found and, finally, put together a huge puzzle of events and people, called Gravity Falls.
But in the meantime, if you suddenly find yourself in these parts, be sure to stop and admire the beauty of the soaring rock, relax among the tall pines, taste the famous cake of lazy Susan and perhaps you will find what you have been looking for so long. So are we.
P.s. By the way, the girl who's kicking and making faces as I write this is called Mabel. And she's my sister.
I am becoming more and more a prisoner of a crazy love of cartoons and movies, which my girlfriend advises me. This time I was completely immersed in Alex Hirsch’s creation with the Disney team Gravity Falls. The hardness was strong. Until the end, I was right that modern American animated series have forgotten how to shoot. As soon as I watch South Park and American Dad, they immediately stupor me, and I wonder: “How do people watch this, and who does it?” It's true. Such cartoons are completely devoid of plot. Their trump card is “humor”, which is completely absent here. Many people like such approaches in modern times, but personally, no matter how much I look at them, I still have bad and disgusting feelings. And, thank God, "Gravity Falls", managed for four years of existence to win great love not only children, but also adults.
After watching two seasons, I was under a strong impression that had not appeared since I was a child. All forty series of mysterious adventures flew with such inaccessibility that it is impossible to force yourself to emerge from this cartoon universe. For me, it’s like running a dusty tape of “Well, wait!”, with all its 18 issues, when watching which, I want to smile nostalgically again and again, knowing that the hare with the wolf will not let me get bored. “Gravity Falls” has a similar magic, which I will describe separately.
The atmosphere. It is very pleasant that the place of action was chosen by a calm American town, with its majestic wildlife, one large water pump and small quarters of a harmless town. Such a spirit has always been well suited to mystical and mysterious stories. "Gravity Falls" contains a bunch of surprises for the audience, which is worth solving the main characters Dipper and Mabel. All this will be interesting, as well as science fiction and lovers of mysticism. Colorful characters. Watching them and everything they do is a pleasure. Each of them is interesting and charismatic in its own way. Dipper likes to explore the most mysterious and mysterious places. Mabel is a positive lover of sweaters and guys. Stan is trying to make money fraudulently. The same can be said for the whole city. There is not a single hero who will not sympathize.
And the most touching and interesting for me was the plot. The whole mystery-adventure plot keeps and does not let go of attention to the very best, besides it is very instructive to many things, and it is great!! But I was more moved by the relationship between the main characters. What an unbreakable and strong friendship they have. What care, courtesy, love, joy between them. They will never hurt each other, will not leave in trouble, they will always help and always support in difficult times. Sometimes I almost caused tears from such moments, for which a special thanks to the authors and these "Gravity Falls" becomes not only a comedy cartoon, but also with a share of lyrics.
And already summing up, so that I fervently did not write too much, I want to express special gratitude to Alex Hirsch for his magical creation. “Gravity Falls” is one of those cartoons that you want again and again. Not all jokes are good and intelligent. There are a couple of faint episodes that you can still dig into. But after all the viewing, these insignificant nuances do not want to remember. A fascinating story, funny jokes, heroes, did their job. And it is doubly sad that Alex ended his story in the second season and see us a sequel to favorite characters, it is unlikely.
