Twilight. Saga. Sleep. After breaking through the crowd of fans at the box office and taking the booked ticket, I went with good spirits to watch the third part of the “legendary” film. I did not expect a good film in advance, I was mentally preparing, but after the first reviews that it was better than the New Moon, I cheered up and expected to see the movie.
The movie didn't work. It's a mess. But I will not hurry, everything is in order.
First shots. I was very happy. After all, it is not for nothing that in all the numerous interviews all the actors said that it would be a good horror movie. The first two minutes corresponded to this.
And here we go. Talk, then a minute of action, and again long and boring conversations. And there are such wonderful films, entirely composed of dialogues and monologues, but there is a lot to see! And here? Playfulness, falsehood and inability to express their emotions correctly!
But for each individual.
Kristen Stewart, aka Bella Swan. The difference from the second film is that they decided not to spend much on makeup, took the image from the first film. That's good, because in the second one, she was almost a supermodel. But her game is no different. Even when I hit Jacob in the face, I didn't believe her. Many people talked about her hair, saying she had a wig and it was harder for her to play. I will say this: if there are no changes in the face, then even though she plays bald, the film will not save it.
Robert Pattinson, aka Edward Kalen. Plays much better than New Moon, but until Twilight he works and works. Sometimes they show too much joy or grief, which seemed unnatural. His monologue in front of Victoria... children at school now speak with more vivid emotions of anger and hatred (which of course upsets me, but is still true). I started well and disappointed at the end.
Taylor Lautner, aka Jacob Black. Yeah, the boy's relaxed. After the second film, he received good reviews saying that “he was the only one who saved this movie,” he decided not to bother and play as well. Where are the feelings? Where's love? Where's the game? I can see the muscles, the lack of a shirt and an incomprehensible facial expression throughout the film.
Edward's family is just terrible, among them stands out only Jackson Rathbone, who played Jasper Hale. The emotions were perfectly conveyed, and no terrible wigs prevented him from doing his job. But it’s unclear what the Kalens had with their eyes, the lenses changed from light beige to red, but I don’t blame the actors, but the people who worked on the images. You also need to teach makeup artists how to do makeup, because vampires were funny.
Wolves and the rest of the characters were pure background, not even noticeable. Although some of them are no longer the same, there is no game that sometimes brought them to the forefront even in previous films.
Separately, I will say about the replacement of the main villain with a cute Bryce Dallas Howard. Well, there's nothing about Victoria. As she looked at the camera, I felt like a little girl had been hurt. No malice, no cunning, nothing of the wonderful image that Rachelle Lefebvre created.
About the music. Separately, yes, together, no! It looks like a cheap Brazilian show. If in the first film the melodies were in the background and were practically invisible, then they came to the fore. Sometimes when the music was in the wrong place, it was funny. I know they need so many songs for the soundtrack, but we have a movie, not a video. Of course, it should be noted that compared to the second film, the music has become less, but so far too much.
Editing, it's just something! I've never seen the worst. The frames change each other completely incomprehensible, in one place because of this even killed one moment. The key phrase is missing, so the viewer does not immediately understand what Bella is saying there. The film does not have a composition, so it is very difficult for me, for example, now to remember what goes and what.
A big bet was made on the fight scenes. And she didn't, alas. Two minutes of fighting is not action. I totally understand the filmmakers. For girls from 10 to 16, this is a real slaughter.
The writer also had a hand in killing the film. Never have dialogues been so dry and boring, and jokes flat. It is good that in the hall with me sat a lot of cheerful people who did not let everyone sleep and compensated for the dull faces on the screen.
What happens in the end: go only to true fans who know all the books by heart, who can not live without “Bell, I love you” or “Be with me, I am not like him.”
+1 for the magnificent views of nature (thanks to the one who shot it all, I want to live there now)
+1 for an intriguing beginning
+0.5 for trying to play with one of the main characters
+ 0.5 Dakota Fanning and Xavier Samuel for good work
+0.5 for the fact that there are appeals to the first film (I was pleased to see the twilight shades, after the Golden New Moon)
+1 Jackson Rathbone
