Pretty good Disney cartoon, the strength of which is the entourage. Without a doubt, it was on the design of the world, nature and architecture that the main forces of the creators were thrown. Everything else is noticeably worse - almost all people are painted not as people, but as Timon and Pumba - stuffed limbs waving like whips, with feet spaced 180 degrees, with square fingertips, clapping lips as if trying to catch a bug in the middle of a conversation. A typical Disney restyle that would have been forgivable in the '80s, but not in 2001. There is a story, but it is weak. He was killed by the reshuffle of roles: at first it turns out that almost the entire team of researchers is bad and came to rob, but then almost immediately they all go back. Why?! And suddenly they were ashamed. They had to think about their conscience at the stage of preparation for the expedition. This awkward and failed turn left in the end a very large advantage on the side of good, the villain alone ran away from a bunch of positive characters and lost in the dry. So there was nothing to worry about. However, the overall beauty of the picture and a couple of emotional moments kept the cartoon afloat for me.
P.S. Along with Pocahontas, Fern Valley and Call Me Joe, this cartoon became the source for the plagiarism film Avatar.
