Barrowing Reeves The FBI agent moves from Ohio to the Department of investigation of bank robberies in Los Angeles and learns about a certain group of “former presidents” – people who in the masks of once popular politicians rob banks. According to several indirect signs, it becomes clear that robbers are fond of surfing and do it very professionally. There is nothing to do, the hero of Reeves has to learn to “catch a wave” to infiltrate the closed world of surfers and fans of extreme sports, as such.
The advantages of this film for the common man are quite clear: a beautiful blue-blue ocean, Reeves that flaunts on the board, then falls from it (the latter especially for boys) and the desire of the characters for freedom, which is expressed in the desire to “catch the biggest wave”, even at the cost of life.
The disadvantages of the film are also obvious: absolutely predictable development of the plot, for me it was obvious where to catch the main criminal and how it will all end. The absence of any acting game, except for the performance of complex techniques without the use of understudy.
Beautiful? I think Greenpeace will probably like it. Does it have any artistic value to all but a small stratum of extreme athletes? Not likely.
And I'm sure he's a cult surfer.
