Patricia Highsmith’s first book, Strangers on a Train (a psychological thriller first published in 1950), was read in the original.
I saw the movie yesterday. It turned out a stylish melancholy noir in the spirit of the Great Hitchcock. There are two writers of the script: one is Raymond Chandler, and the one who did all the rough thankless work to a much greater extent is the second screenwriter Cenzi Ormonde.
Unlike the straightforward narrative of the book, the film played with different colors in terms of unexpected plot moves and suspense here at a high level. And the lighting solution and installation here are unique.
It's a pleasure to watch. I really liked the movie and the book. I recommend it.
