The River of Hope Matt Koyader, after getting out of prison, found his six-year-old son and went to live with him on a farm, where they are constantly attacked by Indians. In parallel
develops a line of how Kay and her friend-swindler Harry, who won a very large jackpot,
sent to look for gold in Kansas. These two lines intertwine in the place when, descending on the raft, Kay and Harry get into a real storm and, sailing past the farm, Matt saves travelers. But they were not as good as the owner. With Matt's butt, Harry steals a horse with a gun and escapes. Matt with his son and a new companion go on a raft in pursuit of Harry.
In general, the western genre is divided into two categories .
Highly semantic ("Good, Bad, Evil, Unforgiven) and
adventure.
This film just refers to adventure. Songs by the campfire, chases, beautiful landscapes, minimum shootings. Everything is in place.
I don't really like this kind of western, but I always look with interest. The story is very simple . A man for the sake of his dream will do anything, even robbery, murder. Anything, anyway. And the most interesting thing is that the director does not want to show us that on the one hand all are bad, and on the other all are good. There are devils and angels everywhere. You can somehow justify Harry’s actions, because he sat on bread and water since childhood, and after catching luck, though not quite honestly, he took it with both hands. And on the other hand, when the director finally convinces us that Matt is “God’s dandelion”, he also throws something away.
The real reason why I should watch this movie was Marilyn Monroe. I’ve only seen two movies with her, and even then she was in a cameo role in one of them, so I would like to learn more about her work. Well, in this film, she played well, although
just, but still left quite a pleasant impression.
I don’t know if anyone should watch this film or not, there are films much better and better quality of this genre than this, and in terms of technology it is very outdated, especially in scenes with a waterfall, but still as an entertainment program for the evening to relax, this film may well go.
