Robert Mitchum was born on August 6, 1917 in Bridgeport (Connecticut, USA) in the family of a railway worker. He began his acting career in amateur theaters, having previously worked at the mine, and the famous astrologer, and at the Lockheed factories and came into conflict with the law. Since 1942, Robert Mitchum began to play in films, mainly in westerns, but no one considered him an actor - he was treated as another statistician for decorating the frame. Everything changed in 1945, when he brilliantly played the role of the heroic Lieutenant Walker in the film The Story of Soldier Joe (1945), winning the attention of audiences and receiving a nomination for the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor. Extraordinary acting skills and charm allowed Robert Mitchum to enter the ranks of Hollywood stars - he played with equal success in westerns and love dramas, created interesting images in such films as "Pursuited" (1947), "From the Past" (1947) and in the detective "Goodbye, my favorite" (1975), in which the actor played Philip Marlowe. Notable milestones in the work of the actor were the roles of the former prisoner from the thriller Cape Fear (1962) - by the way, Robert Mitchum played one of the roles in the remake of this tape with Robert De Niro - and the preacher in the film Night of the Hunter (1955). One of his last roles - and with the same brilliance - Robert Mitchum played in the film Dead Man (1995).
