The vivid image of the irrepressible Trotsky, a fanatic of the revolution, creates, among other things, his characteristic manner of speaking - he is an orator, and what a kind of one. Expressive short-legged balding Lenin-intrigan, nationally colorful Koba with criminal inclinations, and others - Parvus, Markin, Agranov ... Penetrating into the soul of Trotsky, who is dying, as he wanted, in an offensive battle, seems clearly the main thing for the creators of the series, who are easily caught free for the sake of this treatment with historical factology. Contemporary-dynamic integral film art with vivid episodes is no more realistic than any painting that is not colored by photography.
In the late USSR Trotsky was a figure of silence almost absolute. From the few mentions of him casually in the history books to understand why he was needed and where he came from, it was unrealistic. The history teacher (she is also a part-torg of the school as ideologically savvy), who happened to witness the application of our nickname “Trotsky” to a classmate (stuck, as usual, to him – by inconsideration, only from consonance with her name – throughout her school years), was horrified and began to explain that Trotsky was also ... the worst enemy of Leninism! ... we listened to her respectfully and attentively, without understanding the reasons for her excitement, of course, at all.
