This is a very controversial film because it was directed by more than one person. Or more than one person wrote the script. The second half of the film is very different from the first. It has some kind of structure and logic, dialogue in it makes sense. The first half is completely different. There is literally no point in any dialogue. You know, it happens that you read a book tired, and some lines are not immediately realized, and you have to re-read them several times to tired brain understood? The first half of the movie feels like that, not because you're tired or because the movie is so mysterious and complicated, but because there's no point in that part.
Example:
A homeless man, who was sheltered by a girl at the insistence of an old nun, sees a hole in the wall. Climbing in there. A girl flies in and yells hysterically, "Don't touch it!" The homeless man replies, "But I want to help!" The girl drops the night girl, she's bleeding. The bum says, "Don't be ashamed." It happens. The girl takes the night girl and leaves. Then they show a long hitting frame of the carpet on the wall. The mystery of Jacques Fresco: how much?
or such an example:
What are you writing in your room?
BOMGE: This is my thesis for my degree.
Girl: What is it about?
Bamzh: on the philosophy of studying an idea.
Girl: I know what philosophy is. Don't be afraid to call yourself a name. There is a fine line between the shores of silence and the boundaries of speech. This path is short, but it is not easy. The goal can be reached soon, but it is better to achieve it.
If you think it's incoherent, you don't. The first half of the movie is like that. Then comes a much more successful one. Logic in words suddenly appears. You start to realize that the movie has a cool idea. It feels like a completely different movie started by another person.
In general... Put the first half on the background, and the second can watch in normal mode, more carefully. If you look through your fingers at the delirium of the first half - get some pleasure, perhaps. Romole Garay, of course, minus for such a twist. She was not alone in writing and directing. Authors should be listed honestly.
And yes. Some people say the film is a feminist film. Well, if that's the case, then feminists are complete sick psychopaths :D
