Stonton is from London, her mother was a hairdresser Bridey Staunton, and her father was a road worker Joseph Staunton. Imelda’s parents were in the first generation of Catholic immigrants from the Irish county of Mayo, his father was born in Ballyvery and his mother in Bohol.
