The Childhood of a Leader by Brady Corbet, 2015, UK, France, Hungary
It is not at all clear what the artificial ending is for, which looks foreign in the context of the film. Some unfortunate desire to complete the gestalt inherent in the title. The film, although uneven, but looks with interest, the actors are on top. As for the fidelity of the wife, as well as the husband himself, I have reasonable doubts, but about what there is no doubt about is the complete lack of love among all members of the family, one cook looks human.
If, of course, we take into account that the director began to deal with the plot from the age of 17, this can be explained, in the future he simply, perhaps, did not have the criticality to look at his plan with an older look. And then he's still a professional actor, this is his pen test in directing. For such a young director, the film is quite successful.
The end is not only poorly filmed, it is by design completely stupid, as if the main character himself invented and wrote about it, but in life this did not happen, the film is extremely realistic.
