Croatoan After hearing a lot of negative reviews about this film, I decided not to waste time watching this movie. But curiosity still took its toll and I clicked on Play. What did I feel after an hour and a half? Feelings of satisfaction and misunderstanding of many people criticizing this film. The film is quite watchable, albeit a bit boring.
The film again raises the theme of the disappeared colony in Roanoke. Here's a quick look at her.
At the end of the XVI century, during the colonization of America, British colonists landed on Roanoke Island, now North Carolina. When people arrived from the mainland, no colonists were found. Only one of the trunks of the tree that grew in the center of the settlement was carved the word Croatoan. No bodies or traces were ever found.
In this film we decided to show one of the versions of this event, only in our time.
The director is quite famous, he directed “Machinist”. Plus a good cast, led by Christensen. They did well, and I believed them.
Of course, the disadvantages of the film is enough, no one will argue with this. This is the excessive length of some scenes, and not the best dialogue, and sometimes unfounded actions of the characters. But I repeat, you can watch the film, you definitely will not spit on the screen, and who may even like it.
