The fifth and hopefully the last destination. One of the most frightening horror films of my childhood has always been Destination. The very idea that death will overtake you in any case and no one will succeed in cheating it is frightening. And the intricate deaths of the main characters convinced more and more with each minute of the film that it would be better to die as fate intended for the first time.
The creators, feeling their success, decided to continue the series of films about games with death, and here we are presented with Destination 5. I wouldn’t say I was as excited about the 2-4 movies as I was about watching the first one, but I always thought the scripts were pretty bearable.
But this time my expectations were not met. The fifth Destination is the weakest film of all its predecessors.
The atmosphere of fear and tension disappeared, the whole film was not filled with the mysticism that overwhelmed previous films.
Besides, in my subjective opinion, the plot is poorly thought out. The version of the bridge disaster is ridiculous. Can a bridge under repair be so overflowing with cars? In the past, the disaster seemed plausible.
The actors might have been stronger. But again, the writers did not let them reveal themselves. For all the time of the film, it is impossible to penetrate any hero, none of the characters is remembered, as if the entire cast played secondary heroes, as a result, it becomes not at all interesting to watch.
The only plus I can call a trick with causes of death. It seems that it is already clear how everything will happen, but suddenly, once! and a person dies not for an obvious reason. But in the middle, it gets boring.
In general, if you want to see a worthwhile film, it is better to review the first part.
