Will Self was born in London in 1961. After graduating from Oxford University, he began writing fiction, worked as a cartoonist for the magazines New Statesman and City Limits. Will Self was born in London in 1961. After graduating from Oxford University, he began writing fiction, worked as a cartoonist for the magazines New Statesman and City Limits. His articles have been published and published in various English newspapers and magazines. In 1991, the first collection of short stories by Will Self was published - "Quantitative Theory of Madness", awarded the Jeffrey Faber Memorial Prize. In 1992, the book “Cock” was published, consisting of two stories, then the collections “Gray Arena” (1994) and “Cool-cool toys for cool-cool boys” (1998) appeared. He also owns four novels My Idea of Fun (1993), The Great Apes (1997), How a Dead Man Lives (2000), Dorian (2002). The latter is a retelling of the classic story of the hero Oscar Wilde in late twentieth-century Britain. Will Self is also active on radio, often appears on television, took part in the “reality show”. Will Self's last book, Dr Mukti and Other Tales of Woe, was published in 2004.
