The famous British author of horror novels. He made his debut at the age of 15 with the short story The Mine on Yuggoth (1961), his first novel The Doll Who Ate His Mother was published in 1976. Author of two dozen novels. He has won multiple World Fantasy Awards and British Fantasy Awards. He won the 1994 Bram Stoker Award for Best Compilation of the Year (Alone with the Horrors), beating Stephen King and Dan Simmons.
