Smirnov was born in Danilov, Yaroslavl region on February 28, 1920. From an early age, the bright boy had a dream - to become an actor. It came true - he entered the theater studio at the Leningrad Theater of Musical Comedy. In 1940, studies ended, full of hopes and grandiose plans, the artist graduated into adulthood. But the terrible war has done its job. Alexey went to the front.
Five years of war. In 1946, Smirnov began work in the Leningrad Theatre of Musical Comedy. He plays vivid images in performances: “Free Wind”, “Maiden Trouble”, “Tobacco Captain” and others.
