The outstanding musician Paco de Lucia (Francisco Sanchez Gomez) was born on December 21, 1947 in South Andalusia, in the small town of Alchiseras.
The boy grew up in the creative atmosphere of a family of musicians who were very suitable to eventually become a high-class and best flamenco guitarist. Paco’s first knowledge of playing the guitar came from his father. His brother Ramon also played an important role in the formation of Paco.
In addition to them, Paco De Lucia always considered his teachers playing the guitar Niño Ricciardo, Michel Borulla, Mario Escudero, Sabicas.
In 1958, Paco decided to drop out of school to devote himself fully to playing the guitar, and in the same year, the musician’s first performance at Radio Algeciras took place, where he played with his brother Pepe. In 1959, Paco received his first special prize at the International Flamenco Festival in Jerez, which attracted the attention of music critics and famous musicians.
In 1963, the whole family of Paco De Lucia moved to Madrid, and the musician himself was invited to the dance group of Jose Greco. It was from this time that his musical career began. In New York, Paco met with Mario Escudero and Sabicas, who were very interested in the young talent. In 1965, Paco recorded two albums with Riccardo Modrego and with his brother Ramon.
In 1967, the talented musician recorded his first solo album, which clearly traced the influence of his brilliant teachers. The album is called La Fabulosa Guitarra de Paco De Lucia. In 1969, Paco's second album was released, in which the musician tried to define his personal style in music. In 1973 saw the light of a new solo album Paco – “Fuente y Caudal”, which included the popular composition “Entre Dos Aguas”, which brought the musician world fame and fame. In 1977, Paco, along with Al Di Meola, John McLaughlin, gave concerts that brought them all stunning success. Paco's last album is dedicated to the memory of his mother, whom he loved very much. The compositions of this musical disc are meditative, deep and thoughtful, some of them are directly related to the themes of grief, death, grief for the native person.
