Won Bin was born on November 10, 1977 in a village called Gangwondo, South Korea. He was the fifth and youngest child in the family. His father worked in a mine and his mother worked on a farm. Won Bin graduated from Chuncheon High School of Engineering and Technology, where he studied car repair. He made his debut in 1997 in a supporting role in the drama The Proposal. He made his debut in 1997 in a supporting role in the drama The Proposal. In 1998, his role in the film Attention, March! was noted by the audience. In the same year, he entered the Baekje Art Institute to study acting. In 1999, the actor played the main role in the series “Kwangi”.
A big breakthrough in his activity happened in 2000, when he starred in the TV series “Autumn Tale” and “Kokji”. Autumn Tale became an incredibly popular series in Asia, and Wing Bong became the first Korean actor to become famous in Japan.

This film was later selected to represent Korea in The Special Look at the Canadian Film Festival. Won Bin walked the red carpet at the film's May 16, 2009 premiere at the 2009 Cannes Film Festival. The last work of the actor – the film “Man from Nowhere”, was released in 2010.
