Richard Mark Hammond is from England. When Richard was twelve years old, his family moved to a small town in North Yorkshire. There, Richard's father opened his notary office in the market square. During his high school years, Richard had to change three schools. At first it was Solihull School, after which he had to transfer to Ripon Grammar School, and between 1987 and 1989 he studied at the Harrogate College of Art and Technology for a course in television and photography. After graduating from the institute, Richard worked on several radio stations, including Radio York, Radio Cleveland, Newcastle Radio and others.
Starting his career with work on radio stations, Richard later moved to television, becoming the host of a daytime show about lifestyle, as well as programs about cars. In 2002, Hammond became the host of the program.
Top Gear With his arrival, he found his unique format.
In September 2006, during filming for Top Gear, Hammond, who was driving a Vampire car at the time, was involved in a car accident and sustained serious injuries. The actor was taken to the hospital. After the accident, Hammond did not soon start working on the show.
In 2003, Richard Hammond became the host of another show – “Vounds”. The show was co-hosted by Charlotte Hudson and John Tickle. Hammond starred in four seasons of the transfer, after which he gave his place to Vick Reeves.
In addition to the role of presenter of television and radio programs, Richard Hammond noted in the role of a writer, and also starred in several commercials.
Richard Hammond is married and has two daughters. The family currently lives in Herefordshire and also has an apartment in London.
