Elena’s parents were actors of the Moscow Theater named after the Moscow Council. In early childhood, the girl and her father starred in the film “Car 22-12”.
After the Great Patriotic War began, Tchaikovsky’s mother was deported to Kazakhstan. After the end of hostilities, they returned to the capital. Elena doctors found darkening in the lungs and advised to do sports in the fresh air. For this reason, the father decided to bring Tchaikovsky to the stadium of Young Pioneers, where she began to engage in figure skating, and her coach was Tolmacheva. In 1957, Elena became the champion of the USSR in single skating.
After graduation, Tchaikovsky began to study at GITIS at the choreographer's faculty, which she graduated in 1964. Perhaps she was the first choreographer in figure skating. Later, a special faculty was formed, which trained coaches from ex-students.
After training, Elena became a coach. For a while she had to train a couple.
