Honored Artist of the RSFSR (1970). Graduated from the Moscow Theater and Music School named after A. Glazunov, was an actor of operetta theaters, led the military ensemble of song and dance in Khabarovsk. In 1948 he returned to Moscow and worked as an entertainer.
In 1949, together with the reader A. Azarin, he performed a literary montage “On the Roads of America” based on the works of M. Gorky, V. Mayakovsky, I. Ilf and E. Petrov.
In the new duet Mirov-Novitsky: bright character actor Mirov changed his mask. Now he played the role of teacher, and the Novitsky disciple (then his pseudonym appeared). Teacher Mirov is a man of old temper, grumpy, loving to teach. The student, Novitsky, treats his mentor largely ironically. The artists seemed to talk enthusiastically among themselves, but the audience all the time felt that they appealed to them, as if asking to be judges.
Duo Mirov and Novitsky took part in the programs “Here comes the steamer” (theater “Hermitage”), “His birthday”, “Perstrade without parade”, “Moscow evenings” and others {Moscow stage theater)
Together with the director A. Konnikov, Mirov became the creator of the first two programs of the revived Moscow music hall: “When the stars light up” (I960) and “Moscow-Venus, then everywhere” (1961). After leaving the music hall, Mirov and Novitsky continued to stage large theatrical programs, in which they themselves participated as actors. We performed on creative nights. After the death of Mirov, Mark Novitsky acted as an entertainer alone.
