Since 2006, Simon got a job at the London studio “Tandem Films”, which specialized in creating short films and commercials. While studying the Adobe Flash program, the animator created several short cartoons, one of which was called “Wake the Master”. It was this animated short film that became the beginning of a series of cartoons about a brazen and eternally hungry cat who constantly pesters the owner with his tricks. The series got its name
"Simon's cat" . According to Tofield himself, he copied the cat from his favorite pet named Hugh.
The first cartoon in the series was accidentally uploaded to one of the sites and two days later collected sixty thousand views, after which the video appeared on the popular portal Youtube.com, where the number of views exceeded several million, which brought the author worldwide popularity.
In 2008, the short film “Wake the Master” won the popular British Animation Awards. After that, other series of the cartoon about a funny cat began to appear, among which were “The Box”, “Warm Place” and others.
Funny and cute cat so attracted the audience around the world that in 2010 came a collection of drawings of Toffield “Simon’s Cat”, and a year later saw the light and the second edition called “Simon’s cat by itself”.
Currently, the talented artist continues to work on the next cartoons.
