The actress was known for roles in such teenage films and dramas as Our English Teacher and Go Mackerel, Go! The film Quick Scandal (2008) made it more popular. Park Bo Young played a strong-minded single mother. The film was a huge success with 8 million tickets sold. The actress received the well-deserved title of “Pretty Korea” for her pure and innocent image. After a 4-year hiatus, Park Bo Young finally returned to the big screen in 2012. She starred in the horror film Don't Click the Button, which chronicles the damned video. In 2012, the actress took on the lead female role in the film Werewolf Boy, a fantastic melodrama in which she plays a mysterious girl isolated from the world.
In 2013, she joined the cast in the entertainment show The Law of the Jungle, which features stars exploring and trying to survive in the desert in New Zealand. A little later, Bo Yeon went against her former role of sweet and innocent girls and played the leader of the school gang, in the film “Burning Youth”, which takes place in 1980.
In 2015, she starred in the thriller “Suppressed”, where she played a pupil of a boarding school for girls. This project was followed by a role in the romantic comedy My Ghost, the first Bo Young series in seven years. She was paid $270,000 for the role, making her one of South Korea’s highest-paid actresses. She then starred in the black comedy Collaborative Invention, as well as a news reporter in the comedy You Call It Passion.
In 2017, the romantic comedy “Power Do Bon-sung” was released, which was held with high ratings and consolidated the popularity of Bo Yeon.
Personal life
In an interview with TV Report, the actress, despite having played many romantic roles in the past, said she still "doesn't understand" love. “I think I know the feeling of sympathy, but I don’t know what love means,” she said. My older sister (who is married) told me about a real breakup in the relationship and how it hurts. According to Park Bo Young, her inexperience in such feelings has repeatedly interfered with her career, as it was difficult for her to emotionally empathize with the characters. “I still have to fall in love for the first time, so I also need the experience of a painful breakup,” said Park Bo Young.
