1920s. The revolution has already won in Ulaanbaatar, and in the remote edge of Western Mongolia, nothing has changed. Here, in the last oasis of feudalism, a young teacher Chimid comes from the revolutionary capital. How revolutionary ideas diverge from Chimid in circles, how they capture more and more adherents, how a revsomol cell arises in an abandoned nomad, how poor Arat children, overcoming the resistance of the class enemy and their own parents, begin to learn. And when feudal lords and lamas rise up on the western borders of the republic, it is Chimid who, at the head of his disciples, assumes the blow of counter-revolutionary gangs. One of Many is the first film of the Chimid Dilogy. The second film is “Man’s Footprint” (1965). close
