The animated feature film Krulic (Drumul spre dincolo) tells the story of the life and death of Claudio Krulic (Krulik), a 33-year-old Romanian citizen who died during a hunger strike in a Polish prison. Claudiu Krulic was arrested in September 2007 in Poland and charged with stealing a portfolio of money and credit cards. With the help of these credit cards, according to the Polish prosecutor's office, Krulich, along with his accomplices, stole more than $ 10,000 from ATMs. Krulic denied any wrongdoing, claiming he was in another country on the day of the theft. Seeing the lack of attention to his situation from the judiciary and the authorities, in protest against the charges brought against him, Krulic went on hunger strike.
