The documentary film directed by Sergey Zabolotny “Chernobyl 3828” is the confession of a man who was destined to go through the most difficult trials that fell to the lot of the liquidators of the Chernobyl accident. These people shut down the exploded reactor, built a sarcophagus over it, entering the most dangerous radiation zone and receiving deadly doses of radiation every second. There were 3,828 people.
... The shift lasted only two minutes. Two minutes of work in the most dangerous zone of the Chernobyl nuclear power plant. Where the background radiation was almost 8000 μR / hour. Several hundred people will pass through this deadly zone, sometimes staying there for only a few seconds. But the seconds added up in hours, hours a day, and the reactor's toxic breath weakened.
The story of those events is told by their participant, scout-dozimerist Valery Starodumov. The film “Chernobyl 3828” used footage of the filming of the cinematographer Yuri Bardakov, who filmed the work of the liquidators in the summer and autumn of 1986.
The film is dedicated to the day of the liquidator of the consequences of the Chernobyl accident, which is celebrated on December 14 – the day when in 1986 it was published that the construction of protective structures over the fourth power unit was completed. close
