The family film Early Spring, Kyoto, created by director Hiroshi Toda, tells the story of memories, the ghosts of which sometimes take on visible outlines.
After his wife’s death, life literally stopped for Kenichi (Eichi Hayashi) – the pain of loss remains acute, and he is not ready for the changes that will allow him to forget about the past. He does not even dare to transfer the ashes of his wife, whose ghost continues to disturb the peace of their common family home, to the tomb, but one day he has to do it. Now Kenichi is forced to visit a remote cemetery to pay tribute, and one such trip gives him a meeting with his childhood friend Mitsuko, whose life is almost entirely subordinated to the care of his elderly mother. close
