But life doesn't stop. Contrary to common sense, it clings to the icy walls of houses, hides behind the curtains of masking, smolders with coals in iron “bourgeois”.
The heroes of the film are a blockaded family. We will only be with them for a day, but its length is comparable to the length of a small life.
Death, blood, hunger and cold swarm around, and the people of the besieged city, having survived in hand-to-hand combat, survived clinical deaths, did not lose the ability to feel and love. People in the blockade are people. That's why they won.

Drawn Russian short film for children “Once” was released in 2002 on “Soyuzmultfilm” based on the Yakut folk tale about Torobos and Tysanas. Director and screenwriter Oktyabrina Potapova offered young viewers a story about two inventive hunters who managed to outsmart the aggressive Mogus. The belligerent monster kept all the forest inhabitants at bay, but the taiga brothers managed to put it in its place.

Torobos and Tysanas from an early age are able to get food in the forest – they are trained in different crafts and never return from hunting and fishing without trophies and catch. One from ten meters will get a squirrel in the eye, the other in the dark will see a fish splashing in the lake. The two brothers complemented each other as halves of a single whole, and their wives pleased their husbands with regular additions to the family. To give birth to such breadwinners is the right thing, without a piece of bread their families will not leave.
One day, Torobos and Tysanas were returning from a successful hunt and sat down by the fire to taste the shurpa. They ate, drank, danced, and attracted a forest monster to their feast. Mogas came to the smell of delicious food, grabbed food and was like that.
How to take away meat and fish from an uninvited guest? Shooting at a monster brothers do not dare. They have a cunning plan that should show who the real owner of the taiga is a person or an animal.

Cartoon "Once" took part in festival competitions as an animated innovation that defines a new style of Russian animation. Fresh ideas of the screenwriter and production designer Oktyabrina Potapova were embodied in artistic images by animators-innovators Vladimir Shevchenko and Oleg Filippov.
