The ten-minute animated film by Alexei Shelmanov for adults “Journey”, based on the story of the Russian poet and writer Daniil Kharms “First and Second” more
The ten-minute animated film by Alexei Shelmanov for adults “Journey”, based on the story of the Russian poet and writer Daniil Kharms “First and Second” is an unusual film that can surprise and puzzle.
Creative kit
Known in certain circles Russian writer Daniil Kharms was born at the very beginning of the twentieth century, and his literary activity fell at the time of the formation of a new Russian culture – Soviet. In those days, there were a great many different currents and trends, often difficult to understand ordinary people. Harms himself said that his creative method is "modernism, mindlessness, nonsense, alogism, grotesque, black humor, absurdity." From this point of view, it is possible to evaluate the cartoon, shot as an illustration of one of his stories.
When it began to rain, flooding the horizon, on the road with deep puddles went on the way two guys met: Petya and Vova, calling themselves Merry guys. Petya, wearing a warm cotton coat, carried a violin under his arm, and Vova just walked next to him. The abstract landscape on the left side of the road strangely repeated at some intervals, but the Merry guys did not notice this: they kept walking and walking past the conventional houses outlined by horizontal and vertical lines, staring at transparent flying birds, and remained silent.
Behind the barrier, they met the Smallest Man in the World, who viewed everyone through binoculars in reverse. Once they met, the three of them agreed to travel together and walked and walked again until they came across Big Man sleeping sweetly along the road because he couldn’t fit across.
The Big Man had original tattoos on his arm, and on his chest, the hearts gouged out and the word “mother.” The Big Man who woke up was also not averse to traveling in the company of the Merry Guys, and they were already on the road as four...
Execution of a plan
Unusual transparent graphics of the black and white screen of the cartoon, strange images of the characters and the illogicality of their behavior, abstract and conditional elements of the surrounding world and much more, act in this film on the principle of creative installations of Kharms. They are incomprehensible, but funny and, according to those who wish, can be interpreted by each viewer in their own way, according to their tastes and preferences. Methods and ways to understand this extraordinary cartoon can be as many as the audience. close

Created almost thirty years ago based on the original fairy tale by Benjamin Kaverin, the ten-minute drawn film directed by Yefrem Pruzhansky “The Sand Clock” is included in the fourth issue of the best cartoons of the Kiev Film Studio. The script for it was written by Pruzhansky himself in cooperation with the experienced and talented film writer Boris Kryzhanovsky.
The key to mystery
Curiosity, which Petka differed from the early years of his life, very often served as the reason for many interesting discoveries. The most notable quality of his girlfriend Tanya's character was courage. She loved to look in the mirror often. So, if Petka almost never parted with binoculars, then the girl always had a pocket mirror with her and these two common objects in everyday life once played an important role in their most extraordinary adventure.
While on vacation in the pioneer camp, Petka, of course, was completely devoted to the research of the surrounding life and his interest in all the inhabitants of the happy summer paradise became for the boy almost the meaning of existence. One afternoon, he was habitually watching a nearby detachment bathing in the river under the supervision of an educator with the amusing but true nickname of Beard, thinking about the strange behavior of this man. Now Beard is quite happy and cheerful - as well as in the morning. But a little later he will begin to gloomy, and by the evening (Petka knew for sure) the healthy, friendly and quite pretty guy will finally spoil his mood.
Secret for Three
The boy shared his impressions with Tanya, and she agreed with him: The beard was actually too mysterious. When he woke up, he smiled and joked all the time, gradually lost his good mood during the day, and by the end of the day he became sad, closed himself up and sometimes even cried. This inexplicable mystery completely captured the vigilant Petka to such an extent that he walked all day after the Beard like a shadow and at night lurked under his window. The beard cried, and then squeezed his shirt wet from heavy tears right on Petka.
The desire to help the caregiver suffering from unknown grief caused friends to burst into his room in the early morning. The beard stood on his head right on the floor. He finally had to tell Pete and Tanya his sad and very instructive story. It was a story about an impolite boy, a little rude, who, besides, did not value time and was constantly late everywhere. In order to wean him off his bad habits, his grandmother’s guest, the Fairy, turned the young Beard into an hourglass.
Having poured his sand into the upper flask during the night, he emptys it in a day and must again fill it upside down all night. So explained Beard, and the children almost cried with sympathy. They decided to find Fairy and ask her to release a kind, polite and responsive teacher from punishment. close
