What most people said was why the show was named House of Joy when there were so many crying scenes for Ivy Lee in the show. MediaCorp replied that the word Joy - Huan Le in Chinese is a combination of the name of the 2 lead characters - Yihuan and Letian.
The story encourages those who are debt-ridden due to overspending sing credit card to strive on to overcome their financial and social problems.
