Everybody talks about the weather, but nobody does anything about it," according to a popular saying often attributed to Mark Twain. That may have been true but not so much now, because there are people trying to do something about the weather. This docuseries, hosted by former science writer John Rennie, looks at the work of scientists trying to develop ways to prevent, weaken or redirect dangerous weather and geological phenomena, like tornadoes, hurricanes, earthquakes and volcanic eruptions. Each episode follows Rennie as he conducts a series of experiments to figure out how, potentially, to manipulate the Earth -- and whether it would help or harm mankind or the planet. Assisting Rennie are science blogger Cara Santa Maria and science comedian Brian Malow -- yes, he's a science comedian -- who talk the host through the plausibility of each scenario. close

The country is gripped by unemployment. Investments are falling, loans are bursting like bubbles. A lot of Americans are really bad. And those nine spoiled princesses who became the main characters of the show “Strapped”, never had any other problems in life, except endless parties, shopping and drinking. And all thanks to their rich dads and moms.
But one day their benefactors decided they had had enough. Relatives of slackers and spenders thought it would be a good idea to teach these woeful princesses how to become useful members of society. So nine ladies who thought they were going to participate in a reality show called “The Good Life” got into their worst nightmare: completely deprived of all their usual conveniences and entertainment, without money, they had to learn to live in eight weeks like all ordinary people.
How will these girls react to their world being turned upside down? Will they be able to cope with the harsh realities of life? Or will they fade beyond the cocoon that has protected them since childhood?
The reality show “You’re Cut Off!” is a program about growing up, taking responsibility and understanding that there is much more in life than material goods. Who will hear a message from the heart and start a new life? close

What do you think of when you hear the word oil? Ever-increasing gasoline prices? In fact, a person who is not savvy in oil refining can not even imagine how much oil has on our lives. In 2005, there was a disaster in America that almost deprived thousands of Americans of the most familiar things. And only a handful of ordinary workers, who have accomplished a real feat, saved America from a crisis that would leave no stone unturned from the American world of comfort. The real story of unknown heroes you can see in the series "Oil rigs: to the seventh sweat." close
