The Amazon rainforest is the last refuge for the jaguar, the largest feline in the world. For the local Indian tribe Matis jaguar since ancient times is a totemic animal. They worship and imitate him, learn from him, and they kill him, calling him the “Soul Eater.”
Operator Nick Gordon managed to shoot an exotic ritual of the Matis tribe: in an effort to look like a jaguar, they pierce their cheeks with thin wooden sticks and thus imitate a cat’s mustache!
