The film, called in the Russian box office "Pillow Talk" (the original film is called "Pillow Talk", which means an intimate conversation between two lovers, usually occurring in bed, not for nothing in the title there is a pillow, in the version I watched, it is called "Intimate conversation"), was shot in 1959 and is a sample of the style of cinema of that time. Some may remember the times when you had to share a phone line with someone else, which naturally caused some inconvenience. So here — on the same line got designer Jen Morrow (Doris Day) and composer Brad Allen (Rock Hudson). Jen is a rather serious and purposeful woman, she needs a phone for work, Brad is an inveterate womanizer, changing women like gloves, and constantly talking to them on the phone, singing each, as if dedicated to her the same song. Jen constantly complains about the inability to use the phone, so in absentia they hate each other and constantly argue over it on the phone, but in life they have never met. Ironically, Brad’s friend Jonathan (Tony Randall), the sponsor who pays for his work, is in love with Jen and is trying, unfortunately to no avail, to persuade her to marry him. According to the classical scheme between these three characters and the whole story is tied, which, as befits in the case of a romantic comedy, the end is happy. I watched without effort, everything is within the genre, the actors are also good, so in order to unwind, it is quite suitable. The film won an Oscar for Best Screenplay.
