In 1937, a group of German designers led by a talented engineer Kurt Tank began publishing the Focke-Wulf 190. The machine, which had powerful for that time machine-gun armament, excellent maneuverability and speed, could equally easily fight in the air or, crossing the front line, bomb enemy targets. The German command had high hopes for this aircraft, but it failed them monstrously, especially at the Battle of Kursk in 1943.
