A world inhabited by non-those you would like The hero constantly reminds us that he is a warrior. But I don't think he's a warrior. After all, in most cases, he escapes and touches everything suspicious that comes his way. “Well,” I thought, “perhaps that’s the way a hero should behave in that world.”
And yet he's a languid veteran warrior. His motives are unclear. He seems to be looking for a girl, but actually meets with different, charming them with his mystery and languor. He poses. His goal seems to be to show off in front of the audience, and nothing more.
Villains are stupid, all as one crumble before the bored fatigue and justice of the hero, who does not even spend too much energy on them. Once he is maimed in battle, but even then everything happens rather sluggishly and clearly not from the great wisdom of the hero.
This hero won't learn anything. No matter what happens, he will look into space with a heavy but empty look. It does not help the voice that voices his thoughts and experiences. All the time it seems that he is bored, and that he is terribly burdened with his duty as the savior of the world.
I didn’t believe what was happening at any point. And here I am not talking about the fact that a hero, for example, can play the flute and only thereby defeat the villain. It is just a form of artistic expression. I didn’t believe in the story that humans, animals, or robots could behave the way they do in this show. Like I said, especially the hero.
However, interesting animation solutions really save the plight of rustic scenes. Beautiful paintings are improved from series to series. That's what I want to believe. And it's worth watching for them. The world is thought out, it has its own mechanics, dynamics and atmosphere. It is a pity that such simple things happen in such a world, it is a pity that there are unconditional and absolute good and evil in such a world, which would be characteristic of early romanticism in art (or earlier, for example, for “12 exploits of Hercules”), but clearly not for today. Even if the series in form is just shot, as “12 exploits of Hercules”, to the exploits themselves – wise, subtle, symbolic – the series does not even try to reach.
My final decision is that the creators didn't populate the world as they could. But it turned out the way it did.
