Max, Hoffman (2002) is set in the streets of Munich in 1918. Max Rothman, a participant in the First World War, began collecting and selling works of art. Max often meets aspiring artists, hoping to find a young talent, and make a successful investment, buying good paintings at an affordable price. In his field of view gets a novice painter Adolf, also a war veteran. Max helps Adolf, but their friendship soon cracks when Adolf begins to preach his anti-Semitic views.
