Film and problems that are raised by it "Tanza." Children and war. Africa has been at war for as long as we remember. Children who inherit nothing but war from adults continue it. The film is distinguished by artificial directing - it feels that the director is not in the topic.
"Gypsy." Juvenile offenders. Cinema, and that's all it says.
Children of God of America. AIDS.
Bilou and Joa. Poverty. Child labor. "City of God"
"Jonathan." The responsibility of an adult to a child is conscience. The film’s tagline is “All adults were once children.” But few of them remember it. It is based on the idea of combining an adult and a child in one person, that is, a film about responsibility to oneself and, more broadly, about the responsibility of all adult mankind for all children’s lives (you can recall the Bible). Unexpected combination in the cinematography of
large shape and
clip style creates a gaggy impression and spoils the film.
"Siro." Children without childhood. Visually similar to the “City of God”, and the content of “Gomorrah”.
"Song Song and the Kitten." The film is not on the subject, but the best. A film about the eternal: that material well-being is not synonymous with happiness, and poverty is not synonymous with unhappiness.
One day I came across UNESCO statistics that I remember: every year in Africa alone, 200,000 children die (and this is only the youngest, either before 5 or before 12 years old – I don’t remember) simply because they have nothing to eat. It is strange that the subject of hunger remained unsolved: probably this is partly due to its banality (oh, not a new topic) and severity.
Also, the topic of pedophilia remained unaffected - also heavy, and it is also unclear what and how to shoot here (there was no such a genius-director) - maybe documentary (I do not know...). Only the film of Asia Argento remembered offhand, which in the Russian version received the strange name “Chickens”, although in the original it seems
(I do not speak English) called “A Strong Heart Will Stand Everything”. Although, even this uncompromising lady expressed allegory. Her film is heavy and I would not recommend it to pregnant women, and generally impressionable people.
