This strange, strange humor
I forgot why I didn’t like American comedies. One day I thought, what if this is just a baseless stereotype, and in fact they are not so bad? But the movie "Pryatyk" quickly returned everything to its place, reminding me how, for what and why. Having recruited famous actors and looking back at “Bachelor party in Vegas”, the director strained and gave this film. "Spring" is struggling to copy its predecessor. There is Zach Galifianakis, who plays the same simpleton here, and the overall style of the film, which considers itself a comedy, is very similar. The most important thing the creators have forgotten is humor. What pretends to be humor is divided into two categories: really funny jokes (about 1% of the total mass), and some strange situations to which I had a facepalm or a question “WTF?!”. Is it possible to call a funny scene in an airplane or a collective masturbation in a car?
However, if these “jokes” caused only bewilderment, then the hero of Zach Galifianakis frankly infuriated. In the first "Bachelor Party" stupidity of such a character was shaded by the adequacy of others. However, here it is reduced to a degree of slight idiocy, and even Robert Downey Jr. does not save the situation. His character is quite interesting, and looking at him I was even hoping for a good comedy for a while. However, Galifianakis hopelessly pulls the blanket over himself, now and then betraying some stupidity, which the viewer should consider a joke.
At the same time, the film has a good idea and an interesting plot. I'd give him some really funny humor and make a great comedy. Unfortunately, this did not happen.
