- Have you been hurt? - All your life This film is about pain, memory and self-identification. In a sense, this is what we call life. The first reason to watch the film of Subiela forgotten by God and people.
The second is a real Ali Baba cave for a film-fetishist like me. It is composed of symbols, metaphors and film finds. A hotel full of unnecessary suitcases. A room of lost love. The line of men in front of the door is a naked girl in the keyhole and six pairs of caressing her hands. A place where you can go and just cry with the crowd. Moreover, the symbolism is so simple that you rejoice for your understanding as a kid who has collected a word from four cubes.
There are several scenes that made a serious impression - some of the most brilliant (at least memorable) male tears I saw on screen. Wandering through the corridors of magical realism and layers of consciousness, and as a bonus - an ironic and elegant paraphrase to the idea of "kill God" and other Nietzschean things. In short, a rather specific cinematic pleasure, which is unlikely to put on the same shelf with loved ones and cults. In some places, it is done sloppy, but maybe it is due to a small budget, which all went to suitcases.
