In one of the battles for a Russian village, a young Georgian fighter witnesses the heroic death of a local Komsomol girl. After the wound, he comes on vacation to his native village, where he is waiting for working parents and a bride - Nino. But the memory of the girl who died in his arms does not give him peace. The photo of the deceased girl causes a misunderstanding between him and Nino. But soon the truth becomes clear, and the bride escorts the hero to the front for the fulfillment of her sacred duty.
